I had an accident and went to Benjamin's. Insurance covered everything but the deductible. Then Benjamin's called me and told me my brakes were in bad shape. They fixed that up for a very reasonable price. Then I got COVID and they held onto my car while I was sick. When I was better, but still possibly contagious, I didn't want to go to the shop. So they drove my fixed car to my house. They had washed the outside and cleaned and vacuumed the inside. They had even fixed a bit of a hanging bumper for fee. Benjamin's Autobody is an Excellent team of Mechanics. Once the team has inspected your vehicle , Benjamin will tell you if he can fix it or no. In my case for instance, he put a new radiator support on my 2004 Nissan Xterra. To my knowledge the price was right and the work load ( hours spent on my vehicle were correct). 3 days later after putting on my new radiator support, I went back to him to put rain guards on my vehicle and guess what, he did it for free. I took my car to Benjamin's Auto located in Silver Spring after a car accident,when they contacted me to come and pick it up, I was stunned when I saw it. I had major damage on the driver side fender, and it look like nothing ever happened to my car, it was SPOTLESS!!!!! Benjamin, the owner and Miguel are very professional, and have the impeccable craftsmanship to restore any damaged vehicle. they complied with everything that was listed on the estimate sheet from the appraiser with State Farm. I just got my car back today, and it was a pretty seamless experience. First, they communicate via email! As I spend most of the work day in meetings, the email option was really nice. Second, my car looks good and was done during the quoted time frame. I honestly cannot speak to pricing, since I have never needed body work before, but it seemed reasonable for the amount of work I needed and for the DMV. Third, Benjamin is a gem. Brought in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee for a new hood and front cowl after the hood latches failed and my hood flew up at 75 mph on 495. Needed to order the parts from a junk yard and have them repainted and installed. I'm a stickler for details and picky as hell but they nailed it. Absolutely spotless job! My 20 year old vehicle looks brand new (well, the hood does anyway). They did a good job of keeping me informed of their progress and stuck to the estimate. The crew did an amazing job! Thanks all! I brought my 2016 BMW to Benjamin's based on the great reviews here. I needed my cars fenders and rear bumper re painting due to a careless driver who scraped me whilst parked. I also wanted a spoiler painting and putting on my car. I was given a reasonable and fair quote. I left the car for the work the next day. I returned a few days later, the car was fantastic. A+ work, more than met my expectations. Benjamin was a really friendly, and professional guy to deal with too. I was persuaded to have my car taken to Benjamin's by the tow truck driver while quite distraught after an accident. They took nearly two months to complete a job that was supposed to take 15 business days. It basically involved just the front bumper, radiator, radiator support, hood, and headlights. There was no other panel damage. Benjamin even acknowledged that the delay was his fault because he did not order parts in a timely fashion. In the meantime, I exceeded my rental allowance through my insurance company and had to pay out of pocket to rent a car while mine was still under repair. All the while, when I would call to inquire on the progress, Benjamin repeatedly told me it would be ready within a day or two. That went on for over two weeks. When I finally got my car back, I learned after a day of driving it that they had replaced the radiator with the wrong part (using the radiator for a model with an automatic transmission, which has a separate connection to run coolant around the transmission. My car is a manual!) and it was leaking coolant furiously. It became undrivable and I had to have it towed to a repair shop where they installed the proper part. Benjamin paid for this supplemental repair (because he had to) but it was a tremendous inconvenience to have to have my car towed and be without it for another 5 days. They also failed to replace the outside temperature sensor (indicated by a dashboard reading of -99 degrees in May), which is part of the bumper assembly and should have been done along with the other repairs. On my car, a faulty temperature sensor results in inoperable air conditioning. I had to pay to have this completed out of pocket. Finally, the car was returned to me with numerous small blemishes around the rest of the body which were not there before spending two months at Benjamin's. Small scratches and scuffs to the paintwork abound. Upon visiting the shop, it is easy to see how this could happen: there are 10-15 vehicles packed into the confined space at any given time. Moreover countless large, heavy parts (bumpers, radiators, and the like) are haphazardly stacked around the work floor and on top of cars themselves. And while these small damages are minor, they demonstrate the overall lack of professionalism or care that seems typical of this place. I strenuously advise against taking your vehicle here for any repair. read more

This is a good, honest body shop. They did the work quickly and even offered to fix something totally cosmetic (an air conditioner console knob that had broken off) that we had just gotten used to dealing without. We paid a pittance for the part, and now it's good as new! read more

I took my car to Benjamin's Auto Body after being referred by a friend that had gone there before. I saw the job that they had done on his car and it was fantastic! My friend had a 2005 Jeep Liberty and had the unfortunate luck of being hit by a car while driving to work one morning. The tow truck driver came and brought him and his car to Benjamin's. Benjamin had greeted him and explained the whole procedure on how things would go and how he would work with the insurance company, since he had never been in an accident before. The shop took care of everything and made it extremely simple for my friend to get his car repaired. They even spoke with the rental car agency in order to extend his rental car at no cost to him. So after he told me everything and I saw the finished product, I immediately thought of Benjamin's when I had gotten into an accident as well. It was a pretty big crash but after I saw the finished product, I couldn't believe that it was the same car! There wasn't even the slightest inkling that it had been in an accident. I work in DC and it was very convenient for me to get to the metro as well, since they gave me a ride to the metro station that is right there. I highly recommend going to Benjamin's. They are a family business and will treat you just like family. read more

DON'T ever go near this place!! they are a bunch of crooks and shysters!! the tow truck driver talked my son into taking the car there instead of going to midas, claiming they were cheaper. well the car sat there thurs through monday and they had done nothing to the car they charge us $350 for "storage" fee. there really was no space to store anything because the car was parked on the street while they fed the meter. we were provided no service at all. we had to call another tow truck to take us wher we wanted it. i thnk the tow driver is in on the deal and probably gets a cut for every customer he brings. BEWARE!!! This company's motto is to rip you off in order to collect the profits. My boyfriend's car was stolen and a month after the incident, the police found the car and had it towed to Benjamin's Auto Body in Silver Spring, because they said it would be cheaper and safer than in the impound lot. The police gave us the price for the tow and for the daily rate to keep it at Benjamin's Auto Body. HOWEVER, when we went and talked to the repairman at Benjamin's Auto Body, they MORE THAN DOUBLED the price that the police has quoted us. Every time they talked to us, they tried to increase their prices and insisted that there were additional problems with the car. I won't recommend this auto body shop to my worse enemy. read more

I got into an accident and the police called in a towing company which took my car to Benjamin's since I am from out of town and didn't know of any local body shops. He charged double the original price quote on the receipt for the towing. When I questioned him about this he became very defensive and started yelling. Since my car was totalled, I scheduled to have a junk yard pick it up. The soonest they could pick it up was 3 days later. Benjamin charged $50/day for storage and was extremely uncooperative. This whole experience cost me $500 when it should have cost more like $100. The only way this place stays in business is by taking advantage of out-of-towners who don't know better!! Horrible experience... First and foremost the owner Benjamin is a nasty rude unprofessional "business man" who cares nothing about your interest! Brought my car here after getting into an accident long story short parts were not even ordered for my car almost a week later after leaving my car there. I come back and my car is not in storage it's on the side of the street (exactly where the tow truck left it) I decide I no longer want to do business with them and ask for my keys and he IMMEDIATELY JUMPS IN MY FACE CALLS MY OUT MY NAME TELLS ME I DON'T KNOW SH** FOR ABOUT 15MIN then tells me I can't take my car unless I pay a storage fee! I signed a paper that specifically states storage fees will be charged 24 hours after NOTIFICATION OF COMPLETION OF THE CAR IS MADE! Yet my car never even enters the service center (AND HE KNOWS THIS WHICH IS WHY I WAS VERBALLY ABUSED) so here I am being told I have to pay A $50 A DAY STORAGE FEE to take my car elsewhere when my car was on the side of street PUBLIC PARKING! I even got the police involved and they told me to file a civil suit because of the documents I contained and my rights! DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! I had to pay out of pocket because I simply did not want them to service my vehicle which was never a priority to them to begin with. I was cheated lied too and they also try to manipulate me to keeping my vehicle there longer. As to Benjamin I've never met a more vile self centered owner in my life who's only priority is getting money out of you! If you want integrity and honesty from the people you trust with your vehicle this is not the place for you! read more
