I can't say enough good things about the skill and caring from Dr. Bender and his team. Poor and failing eyesight at far too young an age was leaving me almost hopeless (poor cataract surgery result, Fuch's disease, dry eyes, and more). It was devastating as I tried to navigate computer work and plan photographing wildlife trips coupled with a love for hiking - but without great eyesight it was looking very bleak. Dr. Bender suggested trying the new Neuro Lens to see if it might help. And it did. I am regaining confidence in everything from work to walking again and were it not for COVID, I would be planning my next adventure. I called Flo to tell her to please tell Dr. Bender how grateful I him that he listened to my concerns and then translated them into the help I needed. And speaking of Flo - she is such a compassionate, caring and patient person - skilled in her help and guidance to find the right eyewear and answer neverending questions. I love Bender Optometric! So happy I finally found a great Eye Doc. The office is small, but has everything you need. Nice sitting area with a Keurig machine available to patients. I have never had to wait more that 5 minutes. All the ladies at the front desk are wonderful, very cheery and happy to help answer any questions you may have. I must admit I am a chicken when it comes to eye exams. There is something about "sit still and look here" that makes my whole body twitch and my eyes blink uncontrollably. Dr. Bender was very patient with me and explained every step which helps. I received my prescription for computer glasses and was shown the large section of glasses they had available. Again the ladies in the front were so helpful and did not pressure me to buy from them. I was originally planning to going to Costco to fill it, but I did find a really cute pair on display here. They worked out the cost with my insurance and I was surprised to see how reasonably priced they were :-) I have also brought my son in on two separate visits. Dr. Bender was great on keeping him calm and talking to him about all the cool things in 2nd graders mind. We will definitely stay with Dr. Bender as our family optometrist! read more

My children have been patients of Dr. Bender since he took over the business from Dr. Kaye. My oldest son is not easy to work with and so we did have a rough start. However, Dr. Bender was very patient while he examined my sons eyes and even more patience in teaching him (several times) how to use contact lenses. It is a long visit for their annual exams but from my experience it is no longer than any other eye doctors visit and they are patient, thorough and there is no pressure to buy extra services and products. He has spent a lot of time re doing the office making it welcoming and comfortable. Unfortunately this last year our insurance changed and we were unable to see Dr Bender. We picked another eye doctor that was on the provider list. We ended up back at Dr Benders paying out of pocket for a secondary exam because there is no one like Dr Bender. I highly recommend him for children and adults. Appointments are easy to get, staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Bender is patient, friendly and very approachable. Being on a new Health care plan meant I needed to find a new eye Dr., so I did the typical thing, I called a few friends to see who their local eye Dr. was and if they were happy. Several of my friends (who are in the eye care business) referred me to Dr. Bender. After I met him I quickly realized why, his staff was very flexible with scheduling an appointment time that worked for me. He was very patient during the exam and took his time explaining things to me and helped me find a contacts that were more suited for my life style. I really enjoyed going to his office. as a patient I have never been to an optometrist this was the first time I had gone. So I filled the paper work and all that stuff. I was asked to take a vision test and I was expecting to bomb it and I did. I wasn't surprised I had bombed the test I had bombed it before. Anyway When it was over I returned to the waiting for the doctor. Then I had taken my test for my glass numbers and he was nice and explained why my eyes had had becomes blurred to far away things. I was prescribed glasses and I was taken to look at some frames and the lady was so nice and I found some glasses I liked. Overall I enjoyed my visit but it gets better if use a ufcw member you get a discount and 150 dollar credit If you are eligible. I would recommend Dr. Bender to anyone with trouble with their eyes. read more
