Foods great love the fries portion a little small... Beer is awesome... Could use a killer dessert though

Wife insists on coming here when ever she visits Bend. She also has to have the Fish N Chips platter. So....I followed her lead. The fish is deep fried in their own batter which is made using one of their famous brews. Hot, flakey and delicious! The chips are French fries with a batter on them. Not sure they are made in house. I suspect they aren't as they dont have that home made, fresh cut and battered quality about them. Regardless, they are good. They are similar to fries served at Popeye's. They didn't offer any kind of a dipping sauce other than the ketchup on the table. They did bring me BBQ sauce upon request. The coleslaw is definately house made. If you like a sweet sloppy kind of slaw....this isnt it. This slaw is moist but maybe a little on the drier side. It's made with mayo but has lots of seasonings. I suspect the underlying taste was the mustard they use. It was pretty darn good. Overall, the food was great. The atmosphere was great. You've got a wonderful view of the river. I bet in the nice, warmer weather it would be amazing to be eating outside right on the river!! We don't drink alcohol, so I'm not the one to give a review regarding their list of brews. But, I'm sure they have quite the following here at the Bend Brewing Company. P.S.! A local told me they have "the best" POUTINE! Man! I wish I knew that when I was there! Give it a try. By far the best fish and chips in Bend. This place has a great atmosphere. Oh, and don't forget to get the marionberry cobbler for dessert!

Great brewery in the river! Small taco cart had amazing street tacos. Recommended stop!! Great beer too!

What a beautiful setting. On the river with a large grassy area, a place you want to hang out. Service so good and informed. Had the Reuben sandwich with salad side. Nice size fresh yummy green salad! Reuben should have had much more sauerkraut and sauce. Guacamole bacon burger: bacon crispy, right amount of guacamole, burger tasty. Nice long fries, crispy outside and creamy/meaty inside; not so many overdone ends of the fries since they were a good size. read more

Seriously as good as it gets. Great beer, everyone knows this. But their nachos are the best I've had in Epochs! Extremely tasty, fresh, just dangerously good. My wife had fish and chips which is funny because she usually doesn't like french fries. She ate them all, they were that good. Harder and harder to find good french fries. Hit this place up for dinner. Sun River Brewing was for lunch. That was a high bar to follow. They did pretty good. I liked the cherry something or other beer so much I walked out with a new growler. All that I tried were pretty darn good. Food was more average pub food. Good but not like our earlier lunch. 6 stars for beer, 3.5 on food. Flip that around for my thoughts on Sun River bc. Harder for big groups and no kid area like srbc had. read more

It doesn't suck. We live in Bend, went there once, and haven't been back. Their beer is OK, food is OK, service slightly less then OK......overall it's "OK minus". Maybe in another town they'd get a better rating, but there are so many places in Bend that just do this better. It IS in a great location, perhaps the best located brew-pub in town.....too bad they don't do something better with it. read more

My little family and I visited here today to see how the renovation is going, and to see if the service was still good, and it did not disappoint! We came just for drinks and an appetizer. Good beer. My wife had a Kolsch and I had an IPA. We ordered the brewery fries for the appetizer and it was just as delicious as I had remembered them. The service was no different...great! We had ordered the fries and they didn't come out for a bit so our server, Kamden, took the fries off of our bill! It was totally unexpected. Overall, great everything all around! We will definitely keep coming back. It may even become one of our favorite hangout spots in our little town! Go BBC! read more

BBC is where you will find the locals in Bend. There is always great beer on tap (try the seasonal Coconut Cream Stout for a treat), and good food on the menu. Their crab cakes are very good - nice consistency with great crab flavor. Their fish & chips are the best in town. Burger & fries are always a good call too. In addition they have a couple of nice salads - a good break from the usual "pub grub". During the summer, sit on the patio and watch the river and activity in nearby Drake Park! The service in both the bar and the restaurant is prompt and friendly. read more

I get the sense that this is a total locals place. Nothing wrong with that! I got a little cranky right from the start, when - on a totally gorgeous day - I asked to sit outside, and was told there was a long wait, so we took a table by the window inside. Which was fine, except that not even five minutes later three tables opened up on the patio. Curses. Our server was friendly and sweet, but not attentive enough for us to get a table outside before they filled up again. Clearly, I recognize that this made me grumpy. Even still, we had a great sunset and river view. Having never been there before, our server was patient with our questions and brought us several beers to try. The beer was very, very good. I had the IPA; as a true IPA lover, I was extremely pleased. Dining Companion had a Porter, which was one of the best Porters I have sampled. The fish and chips were spectacular. I rarely eat fish, but I was craving some fish and chips that night, and they did not disappoint. Crisp, crunchy, flaky and tasty. A lot of the tables around us were ordering the same dish, so it seemed to be a house favorite. Side salad was better than average, and their dressing choices were better than regular pub fare (I had the Thai dressing, yum). The menu looked like what you would expect from a brewery. Side note: I did not eat the wings, but I tried the wing sauce, and it was pretty amazing. I'm a giant wing sauce fan. So: good food, really good beer. Turn-and-burn service; friendly but mechanical. Again, it looks like a great local place to grab a beer if you can go at the right time. I would definitely go back, but certainly not at peak dinner time. read more

The beer sampler was awesome.......even if you don't care for the taste, you can at least respect what the goal was when they produced it.......the food was extremely fresh! This brewery won the gold medal on our Bend Brewery Tour....if you have a palate, then you will appreciate this brewery tremendously! read more

Walked in and was seated fairly quickly. Had to move around a bit to get the tables setup but it was quick. Our server was friendly but seemed busy since it looked like he was the only one. Other than that I liked my stouts. :o read more

Ok so i have been a variety of times and a variety of seasons and while there a ton of breweries in town this is the one we go back to! Their beers are awesome, their food pretty filling...usually i leave this place with a slight waddle...and I like that while the restaurant has a lot of tables it still feels small. In the summer it is a wonderful place to sit on their back porch! One other thing I love about Bend Brewery is that somehow it is both sports bar and restaurant you can take impress someone! That winning combo is what keeps me coming back. read more

Only 1 Cider choice, come on!!! And no low carb drink choices (White Claws, Truely, Bon & Viv ) It's the new hot ticket item...Beautiful outdoor area to enjoy but not all of us enjoy beer. So many great local ciders to enjoy, let's do this!!!! read more

Stopped here for a beer on our pub crawl... We had our dog with us and the patio was closed but the staff was super accommodating and allowed us to hang out on the patio with beers...it was a very low key type place with pretty decent beer. read more

We were pretty disappointed in this place. Great view of the river but really bad service and to be honest, the beers were just ok (unless you're comparing them to Canadian beers). We had to flag down a server to order beer and to get our check. They were not even busy. We split a taster tray then each ordered our "best" beer. The seasonals were their best beers. There's wayyyy better beer in Bend and with more attentive servers. I think mainly tourists come here and not locals. read more

Best place in Bend for great beer, food, and friendly service. My wife and I live in Bend and come to BBC many times over the years. After sitting down you will see the small brewery through widows above the main floor. Then notice row of big-time awards for their brews. read more

Really nice people who know their beer. Also the fire bar outside is super cool! I was kinda sick and wanted less than a full pint, and I figured I'd pay for the whole glass and not drink the whole thing. Nope, they gave me a smaller glass with a smile and no charge! Came here for a later in the evening snack, 9pm. They just had the late night menu available which was ample enough. Had a decent beer and the nachos with pulled pork. They were very large but could have used a little more cheese. The pulled pork was really good and they use O'hana salsa which is a favorite of mine. The service was over the top outstanding! The bartender was truly a nice guy and I watched him take care of all the customers with a smile. The inside had a cabin like feel and the high top table we sat at was real wood(oak?) and so pretty. We will definitely come back and try something off the full menu. read more

We have been hopping the ale trail having an amazing time! I was sorely disappointed by the welcome and service we received from our server Lexi. She was rude, abrupt, and didn't bother to check on our table. She left "to go to her other job" and we ended up sitting with empty waters and no one checking on our table. Of all the breweries we have been to, this was the worst experience, solely based on our server and her attitude. A potentially great experience over shadowed by a server with no concern for her customer, only her own priorities. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now and I can say it's pretty good in comparison to Deschutes brewery. Their Metolius brew is my favorite, a light ale. This place is best for food around the late lunch time, they have happy hour twice a day and their fish and chips are great, usually what I come here for. Great little brewery. read more

Wonderful service from start to finish. We came when it was slow and the restaurant was full by the time we got our meals ( this was a Sunday night). The beer was amazing. The seasonal's were so impressive! The server and host were on top of it! I ordered fish and chips which were flaky and crispy and not greasy! Wonderful! My husband had the curry bowl. It was fresh and flavorful. The only thing I would change is a little more curry next time. The atmosphere is great for a date night or bring the entire family! Anyone visiting Bend should put the brewery at the top of their list! read more

Good beer, good sandwiches and great views of the river. Can you ask more of a pub?

We did not get a chance to eat here but when we wanted to quench a thirst after miles of hiking this was the place. Many of the other breweries were crowded and loud. Bend Brewing not so much and we always found room to sit in the bar. Some really special beers. Ching Ching was a totally new experience. We tried the 10 brew testers and found four of them to be excellent. None of them were bad or of poor quality. Bartenders worked hard and still found time to talk and make customers feel welcome. We began our Bend field trip at a competing brewing company/restaurant which was really packed and didn't feel that unique. We like the atmosphere at BBC much better than that at Deschutes. Staff was friendly and it looked like their deck would be great in the summer. read more

Food and service here is great! The Beer is always good too. We've been several times on visits to the area and have never been disappointed in either the staples of beer they serve or some of the seasonals. Definately a must visit on your trip to Bend! read more

Solid beer offerings- pilsner, red ale, IPA, they have it all. Great outdoor and indoor vibe with delicious food options.

Stopped here over the holiday 4th weekend and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The food was fantastic (had the turkey pesto sandwich + sweet potato fries, my girlfriend had the gauc burger), their new remodel shined with TONS of space on the grass, gorgeous scenery, and the beer was on point. We initially wanted to sit on the patio with our pup, and they did not allow that... BOO! so we came back without the dog and sat inside by the bar. The outside does NOT look anything special, but the inside was nicer. The beer was really good!! We did not get any real food besides fries, and they were good (but how can you mess fries up?). The service was excellent and very speedy!! I would come back here to try more food next time!! The beer sampler was great tho!!! read more

Just had to put this out in case someone at Bend Brewing actually reads this. Party of 4 plus infant in high chair at approx 4PM today, a Sunday. Seated immediately in main dining room, given menus, and then completely ignored by wait staff for the next 15 minutes until we finally just got up and left. People sitting around us we're being served but could not get any of several waiters working the room to even make eye contact. On our way out the side door told a couple of waiters at the water refill station what had happened, met with completely dumbfounded looks. At least the wait staff finally acknowledged our presence. Then had a great dinner and certainly far better service at Wild Rose up the street. Thanks Bend Brewing! read more

You know, I really want to love BBC. One of the oldest breweries in Bend. Their beer is quite good and very impressive for the space they do it in, but the pub is a real disappointment and that's what this review is about. -Cost... one of us ordered a half pint of a beer. $5.50?! At every other brewery that'd be the going rate for a full pint, unless it was something real, barrel-aged special. Which it was not. Also, the beer prices are not printed ANYWHERE visible to the customer, so we did not know what we were signing up for. -Space... the dining room is JAM PACKED. All the while a full dining area is dark and vacant at the front of the restaurant (on a Saturday night). How about you take out a few tables out of the bar area to make it more manageable for the waitresses and open the front up at all times? Would make for a more comfortable experience for all. -Food... overall fine. My co-diner's burger was very underdone and had a soggy bun despite it being ordered well-done. Our waitress comped it, but it took a while to get her attention due to the fact that she was obviously very busy and had too many tables. Not her fault and neither was the burger. Pubs should know how to put together a burger- it's a staple. I know BBC was recently bought by a new owner. I'd say, keep the good and don't hesitate to change things up. There is no doubt BBC has potential to be up there with other great Bend brewpubs, but it is going to take some work. read more

What happened to the BBC? Used to be the best calamari in town. It's been a while since I have been here and was really looking forward to it. Buried in a bowl of lettuce was some measly scraps and it felt like I was actually fishing for squid. 11.50! Bartender said it's the way it's always been. Right. Must be new owners or they need to lay off their own beer. And never had a water refill. I can't write them off because of one bad experience but I am thoroughly dissapointed. read more

So I went back for lunch with my 2 yr old and a couple of girlfriends and their toddlers. Awesome, kid-friendly experience! Even though I arrived about 5 minutes before they opened, they let my son and I go inside and pick a table (right by the windows looking out to the river). The service was prompt and courteous (our server brought out crayons for my little one immediately), food absolutely delicious (I totally recommend the turkey club sandwich, YUM!) and it was a fun, comfortable lunch. They have a good kid's menu with many different food choices and my little guy opted for the cheese pizza and was in heaven (and our server brought out the kid's food first, total bonus!)
