Dude how come the entire time I've lived in Carson and I just found out about this place? And it's been here for 3 years!? Service was very friendly and efficient. Place was clean and simple. It's been a while since I came by due to the fact I moved to a new city but whenever I get a chance to be back home in carson I definitely stop by for some ice cream!! This time I tried the espresso toffee ranch with almond milk brittle is a good combination and I highly recommend it Service: Was awesome Desiree was very helpful and knowledgeable on the ice cream. This is what I'm talking about.. great tasting ice cream and no over indulgence like some other ice spots. Simple and to the point. My wife and I both ordered the regular sized cups which come with 2 scoops. She opted for double vanilla bean which was excellent and I opted for banana nut and coconut pineapple. Talk about refreshing and fresh tasting.. no artificial after taste whatsoever. I highly recommend these flavors but by all means try any you'd like off their menu. The staff was friendly and the cashier even took her time with us as we didn't know what to get so her patience was greatly appreciated lol.. it's loud here so don't expect it to be quiet especially on the weekend. It's good to see all the crowds now as just months ago this food hall was a ghost town. So go head and stop by, the ice cream is legit. Also they don't have samples and more parking is available in the rear of the complex clearly marked. read more

Visited Ben's Scoops on a whim because of the overwhelming highly rated reviews on both Google & Yelp! The service was incredible. I got a single scoop, [which comes with two flavor choices btw] of ube and buko. While my partner got a double scoop of Oreo cookie & rocky road! I can gladly say that all the flavors we got were incredible choices. The ube & buko were very natural and perfectly sweet to me. The owners were also super friendly! They had a nice chat with us while we perused their ice cream flavors. Its safe to say we will be back when they officially move to their next location in Torrance! read more

***Long overdue review*** I hate giving places a bad review or even taking off a star, but sometimes it's necessary when it comes to taste or service, two key factors in any review. I was looking for dessert or ice cream spots near IKEA in Carson, and Ben's five-star review led me here. The shop is a bit tucked away in a strip mall, so make sure to follow the signs. As you enter, you'll notice some artwork with the shop's name, a vending machine with stuffed animals on the right, tubs of ice cream for sale, and chocolates and toppings on the counter. There's also a small seating area with a few chairs. I sampled four different flavors and ultimately chose the Halo Halo and Rocky Road. Chocolate is my favorite, and I usually top it with almonds, but since they didn't have plain chocolate, I went with Rocky Road and added an almond brittle topping. The staff was super sweet and patient while I made my choices. I liked the Halo Halo enough to add it as a second flavor. However, when I got to the car and started eating, I found the ice cream to be overly sweet, which was disappointing. My daughter chose Cookies & Cream, and we both agreed that the ice cream was a bit too sweet and creamy for our liking. For me, ice cream this sweet would work better as a milkshake, where the milk could balance it out. Eating it on its own wasn't quite enjoyable. Despite our thoughts on the ice cream, the service was fantastic. The girl who served us was incredibly nice and patient, and I believe the man who welcomed us and bid us farewell was the owner. The shop was clean and well-organized, which is always a plus. Cookies & Cream: 3/5 Rocky Road: 3/5 Service: Friendly and welcoming Cleanliness: Great Overall, I gave this place 3 out of 5 stars, mainly for the excellent service. I took off one star because, for me, the ice cream was too sweet. It's a cute little spot to grab ice cream if you're in the area, and it seems like a neighborhood gem. read more

You can tell it's quality ice cream, but it's pretty lame they don't let you taste test any flavors when they boast a variety of interesting options. I wanted to try something new, and ended up with something I didn't like because of this policy. I would understand limiting taste testing to one or two ice creams -- for $8 for a single scoop size, I expect the courtesy of taste testing. read more

The BEST ice cream find in the South Bay! I've been looking for an ice cream shop that serves unique, Asian-inspired flavors and Ben Scoops did the job. The man working was so friendly and had great recommendations. He said they've been open for a few years now and I can't believe it's taken me this long to try it. Ben Scoops is hidden in the corner of the plaza. It's the definition of a "hidden gem." I got the single scoop (it comes with the choice of 2 flavors). The cantaloupe and coconut ice cream paired perfectly together. I loved the addition of real pieces of fruit into the ice cream. So refreshing! There's a few bar seating options and a couple of tables inside. I'd recommend reading the flavors off the menu because some of the flavors are in the back. Overall, come try it!! I'm SO GLAD Mitchell's made it to Carson!! Growing up in Carson but now living in the Bay Area, I was so excited to see Ben Scoops open up in our town serving Mitchell's ice cream. I ordered langka (jackfruit) and coconut pineapple. There is an overall large selection of flavors, but what's being served that day rotates. You can sample flavors and at least you don't have to take a ticket and wait a while like in SF! It's conveniently located in a plaza with parking, and there's a few barstools inside. There's also some claw machine games you'd see at Asian supermarkets or arcades. I'll definitely be coming here regularly whenever I'm in town and recommending it to all the friends and family :) read more

OMG this place was SO GOOD!! My friend and I came here on a Saturday night for dessert & couldn't believe how empty it was considering how good their ice cream is!! They had Asian inspired ice cream flavors which is super unique! From Ube, to Macapuno, to green tea, they had such a wide range of flavors! The man who helped us was so kind and welcoming! We were immediately greeted with a smile and he was so patient in explaining the menu and letting us sample different flavors. Kept seeing this place on social media, so we decided to check it out. We went around 30 minutes before they closed. It seems like there was only one worker but she was great. She let us know that we can sample whatever we wanted and that she had some of the ice cream in the back. The store was spacious and was very bright inside. I'm not sure if it was because they were going to close soon but it seemed like they can fit a lot of tables in there. I tried some flavors to get a sense if I wanted fruity or milky. I ended up going with Mango and Halo Halo. The mango was so good it reminded me of those sweet Philippines mangoes. It had a very sticky and stretchy texture. The halo halo was good too. WOW WOW WOW! I have never had this great of a customer experience anywhere. This a small ice cream shop that I decided to try because I received an email on Yelp saying this was apart of the top 100 ice cream shops. I hardly travel to Carson but I was in the area and curious to try. I came in to get a small scoop for me and a pint to take home to a friend. The employee was so kind and gave me a lot of insight to how the fruit is imported for the ice cream. He suggested so many samples and flavors, it was very difficult to choose which one I liked the most. Cantaloupe is one of my favorite fruits and this is by far the best cantaloupe ice cream I've had. For the pint, I got Halo Halo with lots of fruit and different textures. As for me, I got the grasshopper pie (mint), macapuno (coconut) and some cantaloupe. It was such a great flavor combination and this whole experience made my day. A Filipino ice cream spot that deserves its 5 star rating. The owner is really nice and helpful, he makes sure your looked after and even continues to recommend items after you ordered. He wants you to try samples of the ice cream and gives generous scoops even for a "single scoop". My favorites are definitely the Mango and the Cantaloupe. I'm absolutely shocked at how amazing their ice cream tastes! This has always been on my list to go to eventually, and I finally did a few days ago. When I entered the establishment, the store was spotless and loved the interior. I was then introduced by Nino! We had such a genuine convo and honestly knew the ice cream was going to be good even before even trying it just from that cause I can tell he was passionate in his craft, along with Ben who I didn't get to meet unfortunately. Anyway, back to the important part the ice cream! I tried a handful of their flavors and all of them have been so delicious, perfectly amount of sweetness, and is rich in flavor. My favorites were the mango and cantaloupe flavor. I definitely need to try more flavors and can't wait when right season comes for their seasonal flavors! My mom said they should make their own pandesal, and stuff with ice cream just like how they do it in the Philippines! I brought her some home too and enjoyed it as much as me. Ok so I have been wanting to stop by for a while now and finally did! You will not regret it! Plan your visit now. I was able to sample a few flavors as there were too many to choose from. The flavors do rotate seasonally which I love because I'm always looking to try new flavors. I went with the eggnog and coffee flavored icecream and it was amazing! I'm ready to go back and try the spumoni that I was told will be available soon for the holidays. Also how can I not mention the patient, helpful gentleman that was running the shop.
