I have eaten 3 servings in one sitting because I genuinely never want to leave. It tastes SO good. I also love to experiment with making my own and very rarely have made one I did not like. In our week in NY I made sure no matter what subway we had to take or where in the city we were, that I got to end my day with ICENY. The pricing, however, remains eye-watering. Bananas, vanilla wafers, and pudding seem to transform into luxury commodities the second they cross into Grand Central. At these prices, the plastic cup ought to come with a small certificate of stock ownership. The primary issue was the operational atmosphere. While waiting in line, customers were treated to a loud argument among the staff regarding who was responsible for which counter duties. Meanwhile, several people wandered through the queue asking customers for spare change. Managing terminal foot traffic is a challenge, but the combination made for a chaotic stop. There is something inherently dispiriting about paying a premium for a treat while watching the staff debate their shift duties in public.
