Wanted to try the popular Banana creme pudding, and can officially say I tried it. Small cup of this decadent dessert cost roughly 5.75. The pudding is a combination of bananas, vanilla creme batter, and yellow cake. My first spoonful was sugary sweet~was not able to taste anything else from that bite aside from it being overpoweringly sweet. The few chunks of bananas tasted good and lessen any of the sugar from the rest of the cup. This location within Grand Central Terminal is small and does not have their own seating, there's a few standing tables nearby. Overall, it's okay.
Once you give a mouse a cookie... he keeps coming back for more. This sentiment is for me and Magnolia lol I can't get enough!
I ordered through their website and picked up my order at the Grand Central location. Everything was fairly organized, and they were able to locate my order quickly, which made the pickup process easy. I ordered mini cupcakes for my office, and everyone loved them. They were fresh, delicious, and the frosting was just right--not too sweet or overpowering. I'll definitely be ordering from there again. On a previous visit, I also tried the banana pudding since so many people recommended it, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It was amazing!

Banana Pudding is top notch!! That is all we wanted to try from Magnolia and it did not disappoint. It's creamy and just delicious. If you visit NYC that is definitely a must try so put it on your list.

Super quick we just walked up to the cash register and bought their famous banana pudding. I really liked it but a few of my friends thought it was a bit too sweet so just keep that in mind.
I picked my granddaughter up from the train station and she had a surprise for me! Twice a week she travels through Grand Central and stops at Magnolias Bakery! I usually decline her offer to bring me something sweet but she didn't ask. She just handed me a bag and inside was a chocolate chunk Blondie and a Lemon bar! Well I ate that chocolate chunk blondie so fast it was delicious so there's no picture for u guys. I did take the lemon bar home for after dinner I took a picture, although the bag is wrinkled up from being stuffed in Her backpack! So if you are on the Long Island Railroad go through grand central station it's really nice and lots of little spots to eat!
While passing through Grand Central Terminal to catch my train home,I decided to make a quick stop at Magnolia Bakery for some banana pudding. It felt like the perfect grab & go treat so I went ahead & ordered a large. The cashier was friendly & gave me service w/ a smile. Inside was excessively clean & there were treats galore. The pudding was just ok for me. Not overly sweet which some people might actually prefer if they don't like desserts that are too sugary. It had a lot of cookies layered inside. The cookies was giving more of a cake like texture & taste than a traditional vanilla wafer. There was a generous amount of bananas & they tasted fresh which I def appreciated. Overall, it was a convenient stop inside the terminal when you want something comforting before heading out. While it didn't completely wow my taste buds, it was still a decent dessert option. I was in a rush so I ate it home(I didn't want to miss my train) & unfortunately I would have took pics of the bakery but my phone was dead.

I try the seasonal flavor most times I visit, but I still think I like the original the best. the cookies and cream banana pudding ($7.95, medium) was good but the cookies and cream overwhelmed the banana part. we also tried the red velvet banana pudding cookie ($3.95) but it was kind of a flop--it didn't taste anything like banana pudding, there were oreo bits in it so it was more like red velvet oreo. luckily it wasn't too sweet

After that was retrieved, I went back on the line to get their original banana pudding and the specialty one. It was so tasty. I just wish their customer service was better. They should improve upon that.

The line moves pretty quickly, even though there's always a line. I've only been here once where they had sold out of banana pudding, but that was later in the evening. There's plenty of food court seating or take it on the go and admire the ceilings of grand central or check out whispering gallery :)

Appreciate that there is a magnolia bakery right here in Grand Central and it's super convenient for me and those in the area. I absolutely loved their red velvet cupcakes. They were fluffy, sweet, light, velvety and so delightful with the tasty cream on top, they are as beautiful as they look. This particular location was a takeout spot, but appreciate how quickly the long lines were flowing quickly. The folks working here were cheerful and polite and also give recommendations on what to order if you get stuck. A nice environment! read more

The lower-level Dining Concourse is a reliable reminder of that last reality. Magnolia Bakery has built an international reputation around its famous banana pudding. This Grand Central outpost offers a quick way to grab a cup without making a trip to the original Bleecker Street storefront in the West Village. It is convenient if you are catching a train and need a fast hit of sugar. The banana pudding itself was as advertised: rich, nostalgic layers of vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and sweet whipped pudding. No complaints about the dessert. The pricing, however, remains eye-watering. Bananas, vanilla wafers, and pudding seem to transform into luxury commodities the second they cross into Grand Central. At these prices, the plastic cup ought to come with a small certificate of stock ownership. The primary issue was the operational atmosphere. While waiting in line, customers were treated to a loud argument among the staff regarding who was responsible for which counter duties. Meanwhile, several people wandered through the queue asking customers for spare change. Managing terminal foot traffic is a challenge, but the combination made for a chaotic stop. There is something inherently dispiriting about paying a premium for a treat while watching the staff debate their shift duties in public. The banana pudding is a solid product, and the convenience is undeniable. But between the price tag and the disorganized counter, this outpost lacks the polish of the West Village original. If you are already in the terminal and need the pudding, it does the job. Just do not expect the experience to match the price tag. read more

I love this place. Line is always long as ever unless you catch it early morning. Larger size puddings are usually available but smalls are not later in the day so be prepared. Pudding is consistent, i've had cakes, and cupcakes, tried drink that wasn't great but could've been an off day. The decor is beautiful and inviting and consistent with other locations. Staff is nice and they do a lot because many people are new and buying a lil of everything and they are patient. They also have a checkin in point system for rewards. I love that eat month there are different specialty flavors. Blueberry was my favorite this year. I'm looking forward to trying out what to come for the new year. read more

Solid 4 stars for purely their banana pudding. Generous ripe bananas meets whipped cream and Nilla wafers. It was so good we ate it twice. They have other baked goods like their lemon tarts and cakes, but these are just not as tasty as their banana pudding. Go and try their small containers of banana pudding if you're at grand central station. read more

Ordered a vanilla birthday cake, a dozen mini chocolate cupcakes, and a large banana pudding for pickup a week ahead of time. Online ordering was easy and packed well, pickup in the terminal was slow (confused employees not knowing where online orders were kept or how to determine what was ordered) and technically incorrect (provided full sized cupcakes instead of mini - a big upgrade if edible). Cake and cupcake prices were inexpensive for the city. Unfortunately the cake and cupcakes were inedible but made for nice photos. The frosting on both was rock hard even after allowing everything to come to temperature. The cake, both chocolate and vanilla were dry as bone and fell apart immediately. After one day in proper storage all pieces of the cake and cupcake were brick hard. The banana pudding was the star of the show and got some in the group hooked on banana pudding as a concept, but none of us would go back to a magnolias. The price was nearly $10 for a pint size (large), for a little pudding, soggy wafers, and bananas.. flavor was there though. The location is beautiful and you can't get more convenient. The inedibility for someone who will eat all cake including bad cake completely turned me off, 10 of 12 cupcakes and greater than 75% of the cake was thrown away. I will encourage others to not waste the same money as I did. read more

Of course I had to come down here and pick up my pumpkin spice banana pudding. It's the best one that they make to me in my opinion, but this time on this visit I wanted to purchase a pistachio cake because it was calling to me lol. This particular location in Grand Central Station, along with food halls that you can also stop by and sit down, eat or shop. I personally just love to come visit. It's quick and easy you say what you want and move along quickly. They usually have all of the seasonal pudding flavors and more. I would say thumbs up and give it a visit sometime. This is a weird situation because the first time I had it, I had the flu so my taste buds were like mostly gone. And so, when I tried their banana pudding, I was like, "Omg this is so good!! Best thing ever!" But then I had their banana pudding again a week later since I recovered from the flu and I wanted to compare and see if I would still like it the same as the first time. Well, it turns out I didn't. I thought the banana pudding this time around was kind of bland and mostly composed of whipped cream. read more

A girls trip with in NYC required a stop to get a treat. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Grand Central Station we beelined it to Magnolia Bakery. One in our group had to have a banana pudding. Everyone in our group of five got something different, including cookies, a brownie, chocolate, parfait, and a cupcake. They also had an extensive variety of cake slices. I got the chocolate cupcake and was underwhelmed, the flavor was good, but it was very dry, not worth the calories. I had one bite and gave it to my sister. The prices were as expected in New York. When we arrived mid morning the line was around the counter to the back, but their process is efficient and we moved quickly. The only issue I had was you had to order at the beginning of the counter before you see everything in the display case. Employees were friendly. Everyone has to try Magnolia Bakery at least once. read more

I had the opportunity to try it again on a recent visit to New York and it was just as good as I remembered! Service was friendly enough and efficient considering the location and everyone catching a train. While in the city for work, I finally got to try the viral banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. Before I got to see the actual sizes, I ordered a small. Don't bother. When I saw the sizes closer to the register, I immediately upgraded to a medium. A small is literally a bite. Is it good? Yes. I would rate it a 8/10. It's light and fluffy, almost like a mousse with great banana and vanilla wafer flavor. However, nothing beats good southern style homemade banana pudding with the thicker consistency (to me), so I don't think it's something to go crazy over but definitely good. I'd buy again if I saw another Magnolia. read more

Iconic NYC bakery serving up an essential foodie staple: the banana pudding. This location faithfully reproduces delicious pudding as we have had at others so rest assured that it's the real deal. Incredibly conveniently located in the bottom floor Grand Central Terminal, it's a great spot to check out while visiting. Employees were kind. We highly recommend the banana pudding, and the hot chocolate version is also great for those who love chocolate. read more
I do not like bananas at all, so I was never interested to try the infamous banana pudding at Magnolia Bakery. Somehow, I decided to give it a try since I was with others and could give it away if I didn't like it. This location is in the dining hall in the underground floor. There is a long line, but it does go by fairly quick. I ordered a medium Banana Pudding ($7.25), which was perfect to share for 3. The banana pudding is a mixture of Nilla cookies, whipped vanilla pudding, and bananas. What makes this so tasty is the airy and light whipped cream contrasting with the cookies that give it a bite. I did avoid the banana pieces, which made this the perfect sweet treat. read more
