Horrible, disgusting place. I would like to start by saying how dirty this place was. Floors we're filthy, stuff everywhere. They only had about 5 different kinds of ice cream, no sugar cones and no napkins. Yes, no napkins. I have been there before and they had no napkins that day either. I picked out one of the five ice creams and it was not even frozen, it was all runny. Come on guys, this is a terrible representation of Ben and Jerrys. Clean the place up!

I need a magnifying glass to read the menu.

To the worker working, Friday 11/14@8:42p: it wouldn't hurt to smile and actually show that you like your job, if you don't at least pretend that you do because your customers can feel your energy. I would recommend that they have a bigger menu, preferably on the glass display area. The one they have on the wall is hard to read, the one they have displayed up on the display wall is even harder to read. Most people are visual, so it would help to show the different flavors your offer. Will we be back? Probably not, the product is mediocre and the customer service is not warm/welcoming.

    NOT BEN AND JERRY'S

Something shady is up here. Just went in for ice cream with my son. They're only accepting cash. They over charged me. When questioned the said I ordered a larger size than I did. The math didn't even work out in that. Worst part, THEY AREN'T SERVING BEN AND JERRY'S ICE CREAM. For reals, they don't even have the right flavors. The side of the carton says Grand Ice Cream and she flat out lied when I asked her about it. Ben and Jerry's doesn't make rocky road.

HOMEMADE FISH SHAPED CONE FILLED WITH ICE CREAM!!!! Waffle cones are delish!!…read more I really like the chocolate brownie ice cream. Every time I go back home, I always have to go to the harbor and get an ice cream cone from here : )

Dear Hubby and I were at Ventura Harbor Village last Sunday to get a break from the inland heat,…read moreand just to hang out for a while. After a late lunch / early dinner I was in the mood for something sweet. Specifically, I was craving a root beer float. We wandered over to Coastal Cone to see if they could help with that desire. Indeed, yes they could. In the summertime, they are busier than ever, especially on a weekend afternoon. They have a newer system for serving customers, which works pretty well, if the customer pay attention to it. They have you queue up at the door closest to the water. There, a team member directs you or your group to one of three stations inside. Each area has all of the services that you might need, whether it's just getting a cup or cone of ice cream, or ordering fancier dishes like sundaes and much more. I noticed a few reviewers saying that the ice cream is pretty basic. That might or might not be true, but what I see them emphasizing now is that they can make you specialty creations above and beyond what many ice cream shops feature. They bake their waffle cones on premises - and you can enjoy the sweet scent of the results when they come out of the oven. Heavenly! I can't enjoy cow's milk dairy any more, so vegan frozen treats are my jam. They were able to offer me a scooped vegan vanilla ice cream in a cup, with a full bottle of root beer to float away on. It was just what I wanted! A slightly larger cup would have made the experience even better / easier to eat & sip, but it worked out okay. One serving was plenty for DH and I to share. The best part was refilling the cup as we drank the root beer, then every time we added more liquid, the ice cream would foam up. That magical foamy texture is such a taste treat. It was $10, which initially seemed high, but given how long it lasted, and how two of us got to share it, it was a great value. They sure had a lot of people employed behind the counter. Like a lot. The line seemed to move pretty quickly as a result of all that staffing. One last note of pickiness. Perhaps in the off-season the owners might consider doing some deep cleaning and interior refreshing. The floors are particularly beat up and don't have that clean, fresh ice cream parlor look that might be expected. DH and I sat off to the side on the long built-in bench inside the busy shop. It has some shelf space at the back/sides, and those surfaces look like they hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. Just sayin'. While I enjoyed our root beer float, I had time to notice some of the details of the place, and those are my observations.

The building is an original, 60s beach modern. It's a bit rundown, but it's clean and the staff is friendly, with plenty of parking and seating. Large menu of various burger shack food items: burgers, hot dogs, tacos, (fried!) burritos, chicken, fries, rings and of course, their famous soft serve! The soft serve is the thickest and creamiest, and comes in all shapes including cones, dips, sundaes, malts, blizzards and our favorite, their shakes. I have not had a better strawberry shake anyplace, including expensive ice cream shops. The crinkle fries are always hot and crispy and the food items are what you would expect - fast food but a notch up from the major chains. It's cash only and like most places, prices have increased over the last few years, but we will continue to return whenever we are in the area or passing through.

I understand they sell other things but how tf are you gonna call yourself "foster freeze" when you only have one measly flavor of ice cream. And what kind of shady place only takes cash. This is not a taqueria. Lastly for 5 dollars I can buy a pint of ice cream ffs. What a dissapointment. Not worth coming here to damage you car's alignment. If youre gonna spend money for ice cream, go to dairy queen or baskin robins. The places best days are behind it.

They seemed more interested in closing than helping customers, and the service reflected that. We ordered two twist cones with sprinkles, and each cone got a single spoonful of sprinkles. At the Camarillo location, the tops are always covered, so this felt cheap and intentional rather than an honest mistake. If serving customers 30 minutes before closing is a problem, the posted hours should reflect that. Between the unfriendly service and the noticeably skimpy portions, this location doesn't live up to the Mister Softee name. We won't be back!

I usually buy ice cream from a truck, but today I felt like going to a store, so I visited. The store's interior is classic and reflects Mr. Softee's history. Looking at the old photographs displayed in the store, you can see that Mr. Softee has been loved by people for a long time. I usually order a simple vanilla soft-serve ice cream from the truck, but since I was at the store, I decided to try something different. I had a strawberry sundae, and my friend had a warm chocolate cookie sundae. Of course, both were delicious. The ice cream here is simple and reminds me of the ice cream I had as a child. They also sell original merchandise in the store, which was really fun. It's a fun place for both children and adults. There isn't much parking space in downtown Camarillo, but I was able to find street parking this time.
