Working the team at Lorraine Lim Catering for my birthday was a wonderful experience from the very first email I received from Glenn! They were responsive to all my questions leading up to the event; I loved that I could book passed hors d'oeuvres, a charcuterie table spread, beverages, a bartender, AND desserts all in one amazing vendor -- all we had to do was provide the alcohol. The servers were so lovely and attentive, and the food was excellent -- we got lots of compliments from our guests! I truly loved working with the Lorraine Lim Catering team and I'll be recommending them to anyone looking for a professional, communicative caterer with delicious food and great service for their wedding or event. THANK YOU so much! read more

Lorraine Lim Catering catered our wedding in August 2021, and we could not recommend them more. Glenn and Lorraine were a delight to work with, extremely responsive, and genuinely caring. We're still getting compliments from our guests about the food and their team's exceptional service even 3 months later. Glenn and Lorraine worked with us through two tastings to craft a menu that was not only delicious but able to be adapted to suit dietary restrictions. Our guests were so impressed at their servers for greeting them by name to confirm dietary restrictions before dinner began. Every random ask and need we had throughout the planning process was no problem -- Lorraine Lim Catering had thought of every nuance and small detail from the full kitchen build to chilling our 6L bottle of champagne to making sure the bride and groom actually ate. (Glenn literally hand delivered a bowl of ice cream to me as if he knew that's exactly what I wanted -- talk about surprise and delight!) We also did a full bar but brought in our own alcohol -- Glenn helped us confirm what to buy, and their bartenders were so organized and had great energy throughout the evening. Total pros! Passed appetizers: * Oysters in the half shell (Kumamotos and Pacifics) with mignonette sauce * Chicken satay with Thai-style peanut sauce * BLT crostini with basil aioli Dinner: * Ojai orange balsamic salad * Beef tenderloin with thyme garlic butter & brandy peppercorn sauce * Salmon with tamari soy & ginger-scallion sauce * Summer vegetable quinoa pilaf * Rosemary roasted potatoes & seasonal vegetables Desserts: * McConnell's of Santa Barbara ice cream bar * Chocolate cake with hazelnut mousse (small wedding cake for cutting) * Chocolate pot de creme * Summer stone fruit tart with mascarpone Late night snacks: * Oven baked tater tots with garlic aioli & ketchup Thank you Glenn, Lorraine, and team for just being such incredible partners and delivering such an incredible experience to us and our guests on our wedding day! read more

Lorraine Lynn Catering handled my granddaughter's wedding last Saturday for 110 people. It was an extremely hot Ojai day and the wedding was held at our home. I began working with Glen approximately nine months ago to set up the reception in front as well as the sit down plated dinner in the back he was competent reliable and extremely helpful in arranging the entire evening my granddaughter feels that the wedding was above and beyond her wildest expectations and it was due mostly to having chosen Lorraine Lynn as our caterer They go above and beyond just providing the food they helped plan the entire event Thank you to Glen and his staff for creating a memorable day for my granddaughter read more

I am writing a long overdue review for Lorraine Lim Catering! They catered our wedding in August of 2018 and I can say without a doubt choosing them to cater our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Our initial catering company bailed on us, and in a scramble we found our way to Lorraine Lim (thankfully). Glenn and the team had excellent correspondence and were very upfront about what could be accomplished with our budget. We had a big ask: an entirely gluten free menu. They delivered without hesitation. They were also very accommodating for children (with kids meals), vegetarians, vegans, and any dietary restriction you can think of! Not to mention the excellent service that took care of everyone and everything so eloquently. Everyone raved about the food, saying it was the best wedding food they ever had! Weddings can be stressful, but Lorraine Lim is a reliable, excellent catering company you can count on to make your wedding everything you have ever wanted! read more

We chose Lorraine Lim for our June 2020 wedding in summer of 2019 after a delicious tasting and just a great connection with Glenn and Lorraine. When the world shut down and we had to reschedule not once, but twice, the team was able to work with us. When our rescheduling led to a change in menu, Glenn answered all our questions and made everything match our vision while still being in budget. Working with Glenn leading up to the wedding was easy, and he was so helpful! The day of the wedding celebration was absolutely perfect. All of the staff was incredible, and our guests are still talking about how delicious the tacos and signature cocktails were! We would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for great food, easy communication, and wonderful people! Thanks for everything Lorraine Lim. It's hard to believe that after 3 years of working together, we finally did it! read more

Lorraine and Glen were amazing. Not only are they fun and easy to work with, that's nice - but the compliments on the food at our Santa Barbara wedding speak for themselves. We had an amazing menu (steak, halibut, and butternut squash tortellini that might've taken the prize - or maybe it was the lamb chop appetizers - either way, all of it was sooooo tasty). We love that they worked with us on healthy, local, fresh and delicious menu - even going out of there way to do a tasty gluten sensitive tasting. And Glenn's customer service, attention to detail, and two decade of experience is notable. Even their waitstaff team is incredible - a multi-generational staff that really cared about us and our guests. We can't say enough good things about Lorraine and Glenn - they hit it out of the park! read more

Exceptional service and great food - an all around wonderful experience! We spent a year wondering whether or not we would be able to have an actual reception with food after our daughter's 5.15.21 wedding... in the end our 35 guests enjoyed the fare (cocktails, appetizers and dinner) tremendously. Glenn bent over backwards for our MUCH smaller-than-planned event: his knowledge, assistance, responsiveness, sympathy, patience and willingness to flex in the face of a pandemic will always be remembered and appreciated. He even sent a thank-you note afterwards - class all the way. We can't recommend highly enough! read more

Very professional and thorough - and awesome food! Glenn and Eugene went the extra mile for our wedding. We were a half-hour late, and they accommodated this challenge with skill and patience. Great communication along the way in prep for our day; attention to detail; prompt, friendly replies to all our changes and needs. Highly recommended!! read more

Over the past few years I have attended many events that Lorraine Lim has catered. The food is out of this world, the staff is very professional, and everyone who works for Glenn and Lorraine always has a great attitude that will make an event more pleasurable for your guests. For these reasons I recently contracted them to cater my 220 person wedding in September. Not only are people raving about the food 2 months later, but with all of Glenn's contacts in the area, planning for the day became far more effortless. If I was having the president of the United States, any president, and his entire cabinet over for dinner, I would call Glenn and Lorraine to do the job! read more

Bottom Line; This is a good little hidden spot to have breakfast or lunch - This review is only for the in house food, not for catering My wife and I were out walking out baby when we saw that this place serves breakfast so we popped in to see what it was all about. I ordered the burrito and my wife ordered the breakfast sandwich. The burrito had lots of flavor but it was a bit small.... I LOVED the tortilla. The wife devoured her sandwich like it was nothing. The people that work there are very friendly and brought our food out to us. We will be back for sure read more

By far the BEST caterers to work with in Santa Barbara. I recommend them to everyone. Glenn and Lorraine are a power-house, able to create amazing food, provide the most friendly staff, and run the show with a smile the whole time. They truly were the best vendors I have worked with in Santa Barbara. Lorraine creates a wide range of delicious cuisines that can be customized to your liking and style. They are flexible, understanding and accommodating. Glenn was easy to get a hold of whenever I had questions. Pros: 1. Their entire staff was extremely professional and so nice. 2. Everything was perfectly on time. 3. Food was delicious and hot! (so hard to do at an outside venue) 4. Staff set up and broke down all tables and linens, bused and cleared plates and dishes, and did it quietly. 5. Great to work with and love what they do! Just a 5 star catering company at an amazing price. Totally worth every penny! Angel Speier Angelina Marie Events read more

Before happening upon Lorraine Lim, we looked at 4-5 different caterers for our wedding. The moment we met Glenn and Lorraine we knew we had the right place. Between Glenn's superior customer service and and Lorraine's skill as a chef we couldn't have been in better hands. One of our primary considerations in choosing a caterer was finding someone that was willing to work with the unique needs of our guests in developing a menu, while keeping costs at a reasonable level. Glenn and Lorraine were not only happy to modify items on their menu as needed, but also to add dishes to their menu that hadn't previously been in their repertoire at no extra cost! Glenn and his staff had everything running spot on. From coordinating with other vendors, to set up of the venue, to running the entire plated dinner service and bar smoothly, to the final breakdown...it all went off without a hitch. If you're looking for a caterer that's truly an integral part of your planning process and guest experience, I would highly recommend Lorraine Lim! read more

Lorraine Lim's staff, service, and overall experience are absolutely top-knotch! We just got married in Camarillo and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the caterer's ability to respond to our needs, match our requests, and exceed every expectation. There was not a single unhappy guest, and the same can be said for we newlyweds! Wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend this team to anyone, for any occasion!!! read more

Lorraine Lim catered our 1.26.19 wedding and it was an incredible experience. The service, food, and planning process were perfect. Glenn and Janelle were our main contacts leading up to the wedding and they were easy to get a hold of and extremely helpful. We are foodies and the menu choices were extensive. They created a delicious meal for 150 people. They also made our cake (carrot) and it got rave reviews from our guests. I will never forget the catering staff cheering us on after we got married and checking in with us throughout the night. They were so kind and genuinely cared for each of our guests. Can't recommend them enough! read more

Simply amazing. We got married in a blank canvas venue and we had to bring everything from the kitchen to a generator for electricity. We also planned our Ojai wedding from the East Coast with only a day of wedding coordinator. Glenn and Lindsay had solutions and suggestions for everything... EVERYTHING! They worked flawlessly with all our other vendors and we felt they were alongside planning our wedding with us. Communication was great and timely. On top of it all they were surprisingly affordable, the food was delicious (with many customizable options) and they made our beautiful cake as well! read more

Lorraine Lim catered our New Year's Eve wedding and we could not have been happier! The entire team was so friendly, patient and professional. We couldn't have done it without their attention to detail and expertise. The night of the event went smoothly and the food and service was phenomenal. Everything was delicious from the artichoke fritter starters to the carrot cake (best I've ever tasted)! Thank you Glen and your entire team! Julie read more

Planning a wedding is hard enough and planning a wedding away from where you live is even more difficult. Thank goodness for Glenn and his catering professionals. My guests are still raving about the food from our wedding especially the desserts! We live in San Francisco and Glenn was super helpful. He would call us and text us whenever we needed. He was very knowledgable about space arrangements and worked around our somewhat hard space. And Janelle helped us with our rentals by basically making the order for us and all we had to do was choose colors. On top of all this, they made my day extra special because they were so courteous and caring. Lindsay made sure I was fed before and after the ceremony and even brought a tray of appetizers to my room. They are an amazing group of people and the food was superb! I HIGHLY highly recommend Lorraine Lim Catering! read more

Lorraine Lim Catering is the BEST and I can't recommend them enough. They had come highly recommended to us (and now we know why!) and we used them for our wedding at Elings Park in August. The are truly amazing. From the first tasting we did up thru the wedding they were extremely accommodating, professional, and fun to work with. So many of our guests told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding and we couldn't agree more. Not only was their food outstanding, but the servers and all of the staff were so incredibly friendly and kind. We had a wonderful experience and can't thank them enough for making our big day so special. read more

AMAZING!! Glenn and Lorraine were wonderful to work with from the start. We had a bit of a hiccup with our wedding catering plans elsewhere and ended up hiring them only a few months before the event. We had a menu in mind, which they executed perfectly at our tasting just a few weeks after making contact with them. We were confident that they would hit the mark. The service at the wedding was perfect! Each of the servers and bartenders were so kind to all of our guests, and always made sure that the wedding party had everything that we needed/wanted (water, wine, snacks, etc). And the food - THE FOOD - was exquisite! Our guests still rave about how amazing their dinners were. I wish I could relive it! The only snafu worth mention is that we didn't receive any replies to our emails the week of the wedding requesting our bill, and didn't have it until 10:30pm the night of the wedding. Since we were not prepared to write checks after the party, they were very understanding and allowed us to make the payment when we returned from our honeymoon a few weeks later. All in all, the Lorraine Lim team nailed it and we couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. I would recommend them time and time again to anyone looking for great catering and a great group to work with! read more

My first experience with Lorraine Lim Catering was as a guest at a wedding in Ojai. Needless to say I was very impressed! We decided to hire them for our wedding in Santa Barbara and our guests are still raving about the food! We chose the buffet option and not only was the food delicious but the presentation was beautiful. They even helped accommodate a few guests with individual vegetarian meals. As a wedding and event planner in the Santa Barbara area, I have worked with Lorraine Lim Catering for several years. They are absolutely fantastic! They are so professional, friendly, and helpful and provide quality food and service every time. Every menu is customized for the event and absolutely delicious. I have hired them for non-profit events and weddings (including my own!), and serving 250+ people at one time is not easy... but Lorraine, Glenn and their staff make it look effortless and deliver every time. This is truly one of Santa Barbara's best caterers and you will be very happy working with them! read more

Glenn and the Lorraine Lim Catering team was SO amazing to work with!! We knew we wanted to go with them for our wedding because not only was the food delicious at our tasting, but Glenn was incredibly personable and shared lots of wedding logistical tips beyond catering. Since most people getting married haven't thrown large events before, this was super helpful. We also loved the simplicity of pricing. At the event, they went above and beyond what I expected. The wedding was a whirlwind, but it was still obvious to my husband and I that their service and food was amazing. My uncle, a leader in the hospitality industry, was blown away and personally went up to the team to tell them how great they were doing (food and service). We selected filet, and you could cut through it with a butter knife. It was perfect. Another guest told me that as soon as she took a sip of her wine, someone would come by to refill her glass. Overall we are super impressed by their work and would hire them again in an instant! Great job, Lorraine Lim Catering! read more

There are not enough words to describe how happy I am we booked Lorraine Lim for our September wedding in Santa Barbara. The entire team was incredible and truly a joy to work with. From initial booking, to soooo many back and forths on coordinating rentals (we had to bring everything into the event space - they did not miss a beat!), to conceptualizing the menu, and finally executing the event...everything handled by Lorraine Lim was just perfect. I am still recieving compliments on their overall service and how AMAZING the food was. I highly recommend the Lorraine Lim team to anyone getting married on the Central Coast. read more

I have had mulitple experiences with Lorraine Lim and Glen's food. And everytime it's excellent. My wife and I even used them for our wedding in 2006 and still today people are talking about the catering that Lorraine Lim did. One of the best Caters in town in my opinion. read more

I would give more stars if possible! Rain happened on our outdoor venue but the staff of Lorraine Lim Catering easily adjusted to Plan B for an indoor gathering with smiles and great attitudes! Lorraine Lim catered our wedding and we could not be happier. Lorraine Lim catered our daughters wedding two weeks ago and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day in every way! The bride and groom were thrilled with how the day turned out, large in part to the efforts of Lorraine, Glenn, Lindsay and the superb service staff. The food was delicious and the pie station was a huge hit! The service staff was excellent and so attentive. Many people commented on that. Everyone at Lorraine Lim was such a pleasure to work with and always made time for our endless questions and last minute changes. Glenn was so helpful in making sure that the rental order suited our needs, with no unnecessary extras. He even took a call from us during his vacation! We received quotes from several other caterers, and their pricing, compared to the others was very fair and honestly, quite reasonable. Not only that, there were no unexpected charges. In fact, there was no extra charge for providing alternative meals to our guests who had dietary restrictions! Thank you again for your part in making our daughters wedding day magical! read more

Glenn was a dream to work with as a caterer, and his wife Lorraine sure knows how to make some Southern cooking! My hubby and I are from the South and wanted to do a down-home Southern soul food supper for our wedding reception. This was a tall order for a California caterer, because we are picky about our food! They were so flexible, they let us give them notes after the first taste test and come back for a second one with all of the adjustments we had made. They found pepper vinegar sauce for the collard greens (which, by the way, EVERYONE raved about!), the fried chicken and waffles was a HUGE hit (with siracha honey? Come on!), the pulled pork and slaw was probably some of the most delicious I have ever eaten in my life, and the macaroni and cheese with a crunchy breaded top? Amazing. They served sweet tea and lemonade at the beginning of the reception, and his team did a fantastic job of keeping the buffet replenished and then serving the warmed pies for dessert. It was amazing and we had several people (Southerners included!) come up to tell us how delicious the food was as they made their way for seconds. The fact that they let us give them notes and then went above and beyond says a lot about this team - they are flexible and want to make you happy. I can't say enough good things about them - thank you so much Glenn & Lorraine! Your food truly made the night memorable for everybody! read more

Glenn, Lorraine and their staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. I chose them to cater my wedding after reviewing several caterer options in-and-around the Santa Barbara area. From the initial contact I made, their communication was direct and their food options were by far the most diverse and interesting- I could tell that they weren't the "dry chicken and boring side dish" type of company. The tasting session just proved this to me further- everything they had us taste was amazing and they were incredibly open to feedback and questions. When I finalized the decision to go with them, they helped me coordinate not only the wedding dinner, but all of the rentals, the dessert, and also a catered brunch the following morning. This was a blessing as I did all the wedding planning on my own. When we got to the week of the main event, they communicated with our rental company, the wedding site and my day-of coordinator and ensured a very smooth event. The proof was in the product. The wedding dinner was plated beautifully, the meat and fish impeccably cooked and everybody raved that the meal was one of the best they had ever had at a wedding. In addition, his staff was attentive and very kind, both as servers and bartenders. The same goes for the quality of the food and the sincerity of the staff the next morning for brunch. I cannot recommend Lorraine Lim enough to anyone. Truly one of the best decisions I made! read more

We were married in May of 2017 and hired Glenn and the Lorraine Lim Catering team after enjoying their food at another wedding the previous year. I will be the first to say that the logistics of our wedding were not easy. The venue was on private property, hard to access and about 20 minutes outside of any resemblance of a town. Lorraine Lim and the catering crew did a FANTASTIC job. They are clearly a talented group of people who know exactly what's needed and when. The tables and settings were exactly as we asked and every need or request was fulfilled. We had even requested a special bottle of champagne for the bride and groom separately which they graciously served us and kept on ice in the back. Not to mention the food was amazing! They made the process very easy and quickly responded to any inquiries or questions we had during the preparation process. I really cannot praise them enough. My wife and I had absolutely no stress during the wedding, and it was only possible through the hard work, coordination and dedication of our vendors. Thank you Lorraine Lim, we would recommend you to everyone! read more

Okay I just read a review here and had to put my two cents in. Lorraine Lim catered my wedding and It was really great. She helped create something that was within my budget and the food tasted top notch. I also happened to go to a party in Ojai recently and they were catering that too. The food was great and when my husband begged for a recipe they were happy to share. I don't get the other review. If you live in Ojai you would also recognize how much they donate back in time and volunteering for our good causes. I like to support the people who do good in our community. read more

I have used Lorraine Lim catering several times now over the last 2 years. Glenn, who runs the catering has gone out of his way to make things easier and has worked really hard to keep each event affordable, yet special. I have to say, when cutting corners for a large non profit I work for, he helped us create a plan that tasted delicious, looked beautiful and didn't come across cheap. I consider myself to be very experienced with food and I have hired them to create a few very high end, smaller events as well and when given the opportunity, Lorraine really shines in the kitchen. Very high quality organic ingredients, inventive and and well plated. I have also priced them out with other caters in the area and find them to be reasonable in their pricing. Of course I feel that in catering, you get what your pay for and Lorraine Lim goes far and above most catering companies when it comes to quality. read more

THE BEST! We hired Lorraine Lim to cater our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception in July of 2013, and I can say it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. They were exceptional. The food was AMAZING!! Our guests kept commenting on how good it was and that it was not typical "wedding food" but something they'd expect when eating at a fine dining establishment. Their team of servers were excellent as well! They made sure that our guests wanted for nothing. There was a server there exactly when you needed something, and yet they were never in the way of anything or hovering. Their baker made the most delicious wedding cake we've ever tasted and it was beyond beautiful. Glenn and the office team are awesome! We opted to plan everything ourselves and didn't have a wedding planner. Glenn and the rest of the team were so professional, knowledgeable, and organized that in the weeks leading up to the wedding- when I expected to be a little frazzled- I had such a sense of peace. They were on top of everything, and I knew I was in good hands. They coordinated everything, helped us develop a timeline and made sure the evening flowed seamlessly.
