This is a very nice place. We chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was a bit slow but very nice. We started with drinks mine a vodka and soda and he with something fancy and delicious off their drink menu. (Sorry I can't remember names of his choices, I need to see their menu) Dinner for me: LINGUINE WITH SHRIMP & SCALLOPS 24.99 Tender seared sea scallops and white shrimp sauteed with shallots, garlic, cherry tomatoes & a hint of red pepper. Finished with white wine and topped with green onions. His dinner: SCALLOPS BELVA 34.99 Tender Sea Scallops seared with shallots & white wine then basted with a buttery lemon zest topped with fresh chives. Both dishes were delicious. Since the new manager took over this place has done a 180. Food was average prior. Now this place is turning into a hidden gem and prices are in line. Steak was as requested, lobster was u real. My wife and I went here a little after 6:00 P.M. on a Thursday. It was busy but not crowded. Sign said to seat ourselves. Former bank now converted into a restaurant with great ambience, including artisan lights and pop music loud enough to hear but not so loud as to interrupt conversation. Plenty of street parking, clean restrooms, a private meeting room, and a patio area on the side. We were greeted immediately by a very attentive server. They have a full bar with around 20 beers on tap, and Blue Moon with an orange slice was delish! Featured cocktails include a French 75 (gin) which was perfectly made. Tempura cauliflower and broccoli with chili sauce is the appetizer to beat. Too much dressing on the salads, so order it "on the side." Steaks were perfectly prepared and came with sumptuous gravy. Asparagus side was spot on. Only two desserts offered, but both were to die for: creme brulee or warm brownie with ice cream. Total = $150 (3 drinks, appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 25% tip for great service). Go across the street to sister site Davison Hotel for a night cap! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at Belva. My Team and I had a business lunch there and the service was top notch. We had an attentive waitress who was able to make one member of our group a specialized cocktail they requested that wasn't available on the drink menu. Their offerings were extensive and the lunch soup/salad combo was the perfect portion for an early afternoon meal. The French onion soup was amazing with just the right amount of cheese and onions. Their lemon Dijon vinaigrette salad dressing was phenomenal and I will definitely be ordering a salad with that again (as were the crispy chickpeas on the salad as well!) The only reason I am not giving Belva a 5 star rating was the amount of fruit flies we noted while dining. While I understand they are inevitable in a restaurant setting, they were an annoyance. We were a party of six and everyone was impressed with our experience at Belva. To start with,, Our waiter, Kedree did a fantastic job with service and friendliness which is so refreshing anymore. I was really happy to come in find this little NEW little gem tucked downtown Davison. It's beautiful inside. And immaculately clean. Unfortunately I wasn't eating dinner but I cannot wait to come back because the menu and food coming out around me looked phenomenal. Looking for a delicious craft cocktail? This is the place. Maddie is the cutest bartender and such a sweet girl. She is friendly and knowledgeable. If you have not tried it, it's a must. Wanted to check out the new place. Very trendy and cute inside. Wasn't even givin a smile from owner when we walked in. Who looked right at us ,but whatever. Food was good. Only had appetizers. Description stated shoe-string fries, mozzarella balls, and gravy.. They served soggy steak fries, grilled liquid egg, totally melted mozzarella that was indistinguishable from the overly salted gravy. Just because the portion sizes are small, doesn't make it cute. Secondly, I ordered two Irish Coffee's, the first was barely passable, the second was served entirely without cream. We were very pleased with our first visit to this local restaurant. I had the Gnocchi Bleu Cheese which was flavorful and filling. My husband had the Brown Butter Salmon and said it was excellent. We both had one of their signature cocktails and were happy with those as well. The service was a bit slow but the friendly and knowledgeable staff more than made up for it. I remember a million years ago when this place was a Genesee Bank and I stood in line to get to a teller window. Now it's Belva--decorated in industrial chic. Our table top was covered by Confederate money. This is a very noisy place. Not sure if they're trying to go for a sports bar atmosphere or fine dining. Come here if you have a lot of time on your hands. It took us a long time to get a table, menus, silverware, and a cold drink. We asked for a carry out pot roast dinner when we placed our dinner order. Our server said he would put in our to-go order "later," and we had to wait another half hour after we finished eating for the carry out. I thought potatoes were roasted with the meat in pot roast, but it turns out they had run out of potatoes for the roast. We got about a pound of carrots with some fatty meat. Food was just okay. For the money we'll go to Brick Street. Not sure we'll return. read more

Nice decor, fun bar top. Most everything we have tried turned out to be good - BLTA sandwich, burger, pot roast is AMAZING, and salads. One exception - the gnocchi - I wanted to like this, but the sauce was too thick, the sausage was like breakfast sausage, it seemed to need more like spinach & mushrooms ( or something). Before I write my review, I want to express that I have been there before and had a good experience. I'm sharing for constructive criticism. We had a party of 10. Ordered apps. Salads came out first. Apps were meatballs and calamari. Calamari was overly crispy. Meatballs were very good. I ordered a chopped wedge salad. There is an up charge for chopped -no big deal. However, dressing had the consistency of mayonnaise (actually tasted like Mayo) and very little blue cheese flavor no blue cheese chunks, sent out whole cherry tomatoes. The salad had no blue cheese on it and maybe a tablespoon of bacon. Everyones food trickled out and by the time I received my food everyone was finished. When I received my linguine it was not what I ordered. I ordered it with sausage and baked cheese. They sprinkled cheese on it, it was not baked. Also, had no sausage. By this time I decided to send it back as everyone had finished dinner. I want to point out, this was my fourth time here and only bad experience. I'm writing this, because owners need to know. They haven't been open long. Just have to work out the glitches. read more
