We ordered delivery to a condo in Hallendale Beach where we were staying for a national dance competition. I rarely appreciate ordering delivery other than pizza... but this was different. They have obviously focused on making the "order in" experience one worth doing. For food takeout, they've mastered packaging almost to an "Apple" degree. So well done. Everything had its place. For a place that focuses on takeout, the location is terrible for a takeout spot. There is no parking nearby and you have to walk a good distance to get to the restaurant. You order on a computer and then sit and wait for them to call you - did not take very long which was appreciated. I ordered the tuna tostada and the smaller salmon combo box. The tuna tostada was unique and tasty but messy. The sushi was pretty basic, not bad, but I felt they were much smaller than other sushi spots. For the price, I would've expected bigger, more standard-sized sushi. Overall, the food was not bad. I'm really on the fence with Belly Fish. I wish I could give them a 3.5 and this is why... I ordered through Uber Eats so this review is based solely on my meal. The presentation was great, just underwhelming when I immediately realized that I was going to bed hungry tonight. Every bite of each roll was delicious. Soooo good. Really fresh fish and fantastic service. Can be a bit tough to find in the complex but they've put signs at a few corners to help. Would definitely recommend the wagyu roll, the torched salmon roll, and the spicy tuna roll. For the wagyu roll, don't skimp on the jus, it adds an incredible depth of flavor. I live in Aventura and I have passed the Gulfstream Pegasus & Dragon statue no less than 10,000 times and thought "this Pegasus thing is ridiculous". I was pretty close. What's ridiculous is it took me until today to try Belly Fish conveniently located right underneath that statue. The sushi is ridiculous....ridiculously delicious!! I had the lunch special combo roll and bowl. I chose tuna for the bowl and went the lettuce route instead of rice. There was a great spicy smoky soy that I poured over the top. The tuna was very fresh and super dark. The tuna was cut in cubes adding to the great texture of all the toppings like furikake, pickled ginger, edamame, crispy leeks, scallions and sesame seeds. The combo came with 2 spicy salmon hand rolls. The packaging is awesome as it keeps the wrap from getting soggy. There is a convenient bar code on the box that takes you the video link for a visual "unwrapping". The salmon didn't seem very spicy but I did pour the spicy smoky soy on top. The salmon was fresh and the hand rolls were a good size. Belly fish is strictly take out and you can order direct on their website. There is a beautiful covered courtyard at the pick up counter for you to eat and admire the ridiculous statue if you must. Finally! The sushi gem I've been waiting for. Finding fresh and creative sushi has been a challenge until I discovered belly fish. To start, the location is unique with a order/pick up window only. There is outdoor seating available located in the heart of gulfstream tucked away behind the Pegasus horse. I had never heard of this place which shocked me...they have been open 2 years with a coral gables location on the way. The packaging was the first green flag. This spot is adorable in terms of presentation and the fish is absolutely beautiful. It tastes as incredible as it looks. Their creative offerings included torched rolls, variety of nigiri selection, and truffle oil add on. You can truly satisfy any sushi craving here. We conveniently ordered pick up via Uber eats and couldn't be happier with how quick and swift service was. Online there are combinations I highly recommend.
