Love the welcome they give you when you walk in, they are very helpful if is your first time they will go over the menu and will explain how can you choose your meal. I really enjoy eating my lunch there specially with the atmosphere of the place. They have music on tables are ready for you to pick and they also have a nice and relaxing waiting area for you to wait for your pick up or for to wait for a table to be available. I've driven by Bell's BBQ a number of times and I never went in until recently. We made a point to go to Bell's and all in all it wasn't a bad experience. Can't really say I'm a fan and not really sure I'd go back, but it's an option if you're in the area seeing as there aren't too many other BBQ joints around. However I did like Big B's Texas BBQ on St Rose better. On to the review: The place is pretty easy to find and parking was a breeze. We went during lunch time on a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn't too busy and we were able to order right away. Table Service was good. Here's what we got and what we thought: Baby Back Ribs - These were okay. I've had better. The meat wasn't as tender and the meat quantity was a little light on the bones. Those pigs were probably undernourished? 3-Cheese Mac - This was pretty tasty. The cheese was melty (is that a word?) and macaroni was good. Get this as a side unless you're lactose intolerant. Pulled Pork Sandwich - This was okay. Pull pork was tender, but nothing outstanding in the flavor department. It came stuffed in this big loaf of bread and the bread to pork ratio was unfortunately biased to the bread. Crispy Brussels Sprouts - meh. They were crispy, but not all that great. 4-Cheese Crusted Corn - This was a nice idea on paper, but the cheese flakes off the corn pretty quickly, so your first bite has cheese and corn and next bite is all corn because the cheese has likely fallen off. Chopped Brisket - This wasn't bad. As part of the kids meal this is a good choice. Pulled Chicken - A bit dry. Nothing special. Garlic Smashed Potatoes - This was good. Devyn's Homemade Pickles - Nothing special here. You get some slices included with your meal. Meh. Also with all this you can try a number of different BBQ sauces including: House, Mustard, Spicy, Nashville, Old Fashioned, Gluten Free. Here's what we thought since we tried them all. House = Old Fashioned = Gluten Free = all taste very similar Spicy - wasn't very spicy and close in flavor to the House Nashville - Was more tangy. Mustard - a mix of House BBQ and some sweetness of Honey Mustard I would say Bell's BBQ could probably just have 4 flavors: House, Spicy (make it more spicy), Nashville, and Mustard. The others are just taking up space. But even then all the sauces weren't outstanding. We mainly stuck with Nashville and Mustard. Anyhow, if you looking for really great BBQ I don't think Bell's is the place. You'd have to drive out to California and get Smoking Ribs or Phil's down in San Diego, but seeing as they're not local, I'd go Big B's Texas BBQ. read more

I have passed this place 100's of times and finally stopped in and had a Awesome Meal! It was So Delicious, Tasty, and Filling! Impeccable customer service. As a first timer that is important. I didn't like the ribs as I like a more smoky flavor. But I loved the collards, red beans and rice. The desserts were so hard to choose since they all looked great. I got red velvet cake in a jar. Super yummy. Best part was Les. This restaurant has become so DISSAPOINTING. We have been so loyal to this place since the pandemic and this is how they treat customers. They wonder why people through doordash requests for charges to be disputed. We ordered a brisket and pulled chicken sandwiches. Why would I get an entire pan of rolls for the pulled chicken when the chicken comes in such a little container. Is it one sliver of chicken per roll? The brisket is so dry it looks like it is days old. I paid 15-$20 for a 3 unacceptable small pieces of brisket. We call the restaurant and all they would say is "I'm sorry we are really busy". Well, I'm glad your busy but you obviously didn't care about your customer service. We will not be returning or referring people here ever again. It's nice to have such a great family-owned & operated restaurant to close to home! We've done Uber eats with Bell's but never went in to eat until this week! I remembered seeing something about Kids eating free on Tuesday so... We got a free meal for my kiddo (chicken tenders) since my husband had an entree (the shrimp po' boy) while I ate all of the sides! My favorites are the black eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, side salad, and OKRA FRIES! Sometimes we've gone to order them on Uber eats and they're sold out! They're full-length pieces of okra and perfectly breaded and fried with cornmeal. My little one eats them like a fiend! I'm flexatarian, so I make some wiggle room in my mostly-vegan diet for Bell's! We were in the mood for barbecue and randomly did a search of bbq places nearby. This place popped up and we went for it. Worked out good. It is easy to find on Eastern Ave and there is plenty of parking around the building. When we walked in, we were greeted right away by a couple of workers behind the counter, who were patient with us in explaining the house specialties. We decided on the special of the day, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and the Sun City Special (which states you have to be 55 and over to order) which gives you the choice of which meat and two sides to order. I chose the briskit with beans and mac cheese. The dining room was clean even though the dinner crowd was just leaving. Our order came out in about 10 minutes and it looked and smelled great. The chicken sandwich was covered in fried onions with 2 huge pieces of corn bread and really thick cucumber pickle slices. The Sun City special had a good size portion of briskit also covered in fried onions. The bbq beans were very flavorful and the mac cheese wasn't dry like other places tend to have mac cheese. I know people talk about how customer service is not a priority for most businesses today but I try to understand what they have had to deal with over the past 2+ years and be extra patient. However, our business with Bell's this past weekend showed they truly have a lack of appreciation for their customers and do not appear concerned when they make a mistake in making it right. We placed an order for a birthday party on Thursday for pick-up on Sunday since they required 72 hour advance notice. We then get a call on Saturday saying our order is ready. My wife explained that our order was for Sunday. She gets put on hold and then told "Oh yeah. I see it is for Sunday. I don't know why they made it today". Not a big deal and I hope they were able to use the food but an indication of possible trouble. On Sunday my wife arrived as scheduled to pick up the order ($240.00). Everything was packaged in a large cardboard box in pans w/foil and containers. We are about 15-20 minutes from the venue. She gets home and what item is missing - THE RIBS. How does a BBQ place forget the ribs? Anyway, my wife calls and the young lady who answered was very nice and said she would include an extra pound of the brisket if my wife came back for the ribs. My wife drove back to the restaurant (now the guests are getting hungry) and when she arrives the young lady she spoke to said "My manager said I can't give you the brisket. I can only give you a side.". Really? Listen, the cost of a pound of brisket is not going to make us rich and it is not going to make us poor but apparently it has that much of a negative affect on Bell's that they won't honor what they promised after they made a mistake. They agreed to take the cost of the side, which we didn't need/want, off of the price of a pound of brisket. I guess that's something but w/the price of gas that is one expensive pound of meat. My wife finally gets back and we were able to enjoy an entire luke-warm meal of hard rolls and dry meat. They had to opportunity to make it right but chose to skip the customer service portion of operating a business. Not sure if it was the manager or owner who made that call but it's still a shame. read more

I wanted to update my review and add another star. My subsequent visits to Bell's have been far more positive than our initial visit. They've still been out of items (like beef ribs) on a couple trips, but they generally have what we order. I absolutely love the buffalo cauliflower and the brussel sprouts (both are up-charges as meal sides) Also, their sauces are better than they were when they first opened. If you order dessert for takeout, don't forget to return your mason jars to get entered into a $20 gift certificate each month. Lastly, it's nice that kids eat free on Tuesdays. read more

Big THANK YOU to Bells BBQ. This is the definition of Henderson family. After spending three days of moving from homes, my father and I forgot it was Father's Day. Heading to Bell's BBQ, not thinking of what time it was, we get stopped at the door and was told that it's 7pm and they were closing, BUT...... they are happy to take our order. What a beautiful thing. The staff was humble and excited to help us out. The only down fall was that my pops didn't get his beef ribs, but we got everything else. I was more than happy to leave them a generous tip but wish I could give them more, to have the opportunity to celebrate Father's Day with my dad. THANK YOU Bell's, you're our favorite. read more

I'm missing my own get together because the order I placed yesterday for a party pack wasn't even started before I arrived at the designated time. The receipt for it was taped to the wall and ignored. It took them 24 minutes to get it together while they continued to serve others who had just walked in and placed their orders. Unacceptable. A quick apology and nothing offered to make up for their careless error. To add insult to this entire debacle the one paper bag that they put all of the meats and hot sides in broke upon picking it up and everything fell to the ground. Never again. read more

Finally had Bell's BBQ, probably on the most fitting day of the year and it seemed like the busiest. I celebrated my July 4th with some delicious BBQ and dessert. I really liked their brisket here. The baby back ribs were meaty and tender. My only complaint are the sides. I ordered the corn and it was served plain. I wanted to try the cheese corn like everyone else's photos. Maybe it was just a fluke that day. I didn't care for the cheese grits either. The red velvet sweet jar for dessert was the real treat. The cream cheese was on point and the cake to cream ratio was great. I liked the crunch of he candied pecans. Overall, a good BBQ spot for the area. I love that so many BBQ options are popping up in this area and I'm on a mission to try them all. Overall, this spot is A-OK and I would return. The restaurant is clean and open with about a dozen tables. A few of the tables are large enough for a group. There are a few picnic tables outside too. The location is easy to find on Eastern and there is plenty of parking in front of the building. The menu here is one of the largest menus I've seen at a BBQ restaurant. They offer all of the meats you'd expect from a BBQ joint, around 20 side options, and other items like catfish. They definitely weren't lacking in options. The service was a five during our visit. As soon as we arrived the woman at the register asked if we were first timers and gave us an overview of the menu. After we ordered at the counter she brought our food to the table and then took care of everything from there. We were offered drink refills and to go boxes when the time came. They definitely have service in order. I'll start with the sides because these were my favorite foods. The Pickle Sticks were my favorite side. The sticks were thin, lightly breaded, and delicious. The sauce on the side wasn't even necessary. The 4 Cheese Crusted Corn Coblet was unique and delicious. The Deviled Egg Potato Salad had great flavor and texture. The Red Beans and Rice were good, but could have used more Cajun spice. My husband had the Pulled BBQ Rib Sandwich. It was much larger than it looked in photos on Yelp! Overall, the sandwich was good, but the meat was not the most tender meat. My two meats were St. Louis Style Ribs and Chopped Brisket. The meats were okay, but neither were as tender or as seasoned as I expected. For dessert we shared the Black Bottom Key Lime Pie jar dessert. Choosing a dessert was hard because they have so many great options. The key lime was tart and the chocolate crust was yummy. I'll return because this BBQ spot has a lot of potential. My cousin wanted to try a new bbq spot and we noticed this place since they're close to our favorite restaurant (Egg Works). She ordered the beef rib plate with a side of yams and mac & cheese. She was SO disappointed. The Mac & cheese has bread on top for some reason and it tastes kinda sweet, totally taking away from the cheese taste. She didn't finish it. The yams are blended almost like purée. She felt like she was tasting baby food. She didn't finish that either. I have yet to know what the ribs taste like because she was turned off from eating all together and it's sitting on the counter in the original container. I had the catfish sandwich which I was excited about seeing as I don't eat meat. Why is there more bread than actual sandwich? I understand it's Texas toast, but it's ALOT of bread with very very little fish inside. The taste was...alright. I ate half of it and I'm already done with it because I feel like I'll get sick from eating the rest. My side option was cheese grits. It was alright. Probably better tasting fresh and I got it to go. My guest wasn't thrilled about the red beans and rice and she said the pulled chicken was on the dry side. She added bbq sauce to it and it really didn't help. It was just too dry to recover. If there was a way to get my money back, I'd collect every penny. We have had sub par experiences in the past here, like uncooked shrimp and refusal to provide sweet potato fries when listed on the online menu and finally tonight, my husbands bbq chicken was cold inside...not like room temperature cold, but like refrigerator cold! They offered to re-make it but my husband refused...In the past, this was a great neighborhood spot, with great food and service but the service and food quality have declined drastically over the last several months.
