Spicy Cheesesteak Special #2 Cheez Whiz Steak Cheese Fries
    Rea C.

I'm always down for trying out new cheesesteak spots that offer cheez whiz on their menu and this place did not disappoint. Since my husband and I were on this side of town, we decided to try this place out. There's minimal indoor seating, so we grabbed a table first before we ordered our food. The menu is pretty straightforward with an array of different sandwiches, sides and drinks. It's a very chill vibe and the people that work there were extremely out-going and super-friendly. We checked the menu out ahead of time, so we knew we were gonna order their Spicy Cheese Steak Special, Cheez Whiz Steak and their cheese fries. Adding Frank's hot sauce on their Spicy Cheesesteak was the best part of the meal. It gave it the perfect amount of spice and tang to balance out some of the richness from the cheesesteak. The fries were nicely salted and they had a decent amount of chez whiz slathered on top of them. Overall, the food was really good and the portion sizes were definitely worth the price!

Convenient location, love that they have a drive thru. Nice customer service and they are accommodating. Sandwiches are always fresh but I do wish the sandwiches were a bit more toasted. I ordered that pastrami sandwich and it was good, I will come back.

I'd say food is a 3.5. Service was a 5 and very quick. My issue was there was almost NO cheese on my Philly steak sandwich. I had to add some at home. You can see in my pic that there is virtually no cheese. The whole sandwich was a bit dry because of the lack of cheese. Next time I'd order the three cheese one, just so I know the sandwich won't be so dry. The meat had a good taste though and the bread is great. Garlic fries.. could use more garlic, but we're still ok. The location has a drive thru, which is nice! And a few tables inside if you want to eat in.

STOP IT!!!! These men just made my whole month!! That's the sweetest customer service I've ever had in Las Vegas!!! One of them called me pretty girl and it was in the KINDEST way possible. Go see them bc the food is FRESH and so delicious

Solid Cheeseteak... served up on a proper amorosos roll. The steaks are of the finely chopped variety, not the sliced course cut for what that's worth... Wiz wit is the only proper way to have it. It's a good sandwich, but could use more seasoning and more wiz. The guys working the small shopfront were pretty friendly. There are a couple chairs and tables, but more of a to go type of set up. Solid cheeseteak.

My friend brought me lunch from this place the other day. He said he used to get it all the time, but even he was disappointed in the sandwich. We both got the pastrami and in all honestly, the Sandwich was a little small for $13. The pastrami meat tasted good and the bun wasn't soggy, which is a plus! The pickles went really well in the sandwich too! It just needs a sauce or something because it was extremely dry. My friend said the service was good and the place was clean! I'd be down to possibly try it again in the future if I'm in the area, but not the best first impression based on the price for the sandwich size and dryness of the sandwich.

thought it was pretty good and on par with some of the places in Philly. ordered with whiz with onions. I feel like it would have tasted different if i ate it as soon as i got it, but ate it 20 min later when we got home. But all in all, still a solid cheesesteak.

I had the mushroom cheesesteak the bun was really fresh and lots of tender steak n mushrooms. Next time I might try the cheese whiz but I love provolone the place isn't very big but lots of people did take out and they have a drive thru. Service was fast and $13 wasn't a bad price for a fresh bun n lots of steak

This is truly a hidden gem. It is a great spot for the authentic hearty cheesesteak made with love by a family legitimately straight from Philly. The place is on a smaller side, only a few tables inside, but they also have a drive-thru that is very convenient for those in a hurry. The place is clean and well-run. The staff is quick ,very kind and helpful. We have felt very welcomed and appreciated. We were greeted on the way in and thanked on the way out. The food was truly amazing. The sandwich (Garlic Parmesan Cheesesteak with sautéed onions) was served on an amazing bun. The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of "chewiness".. The steak itself was perfectly cooked, moist, flavorful, and perfectly melted cheese on top. This was not a small portion either, especially for the price. We highly recommend it!! Just GO and enjoy the BEST Philly in the Valley!! You can thank me later

    Picked at fries

Just moved here from Philly and I have to say I am a bit disappointed, but not surprised since it's on the complete other side of the country. I was hoping that with a name like Straight out of Philly, they would be transplants that know what's up. Let me explain. I was really craving some cheese fries, whiz in particular for some comfort food, so that's how I went looking for the philly spot. I asked for extra extra whiz. Now to be fair, I picked them up later than they were ready, so whatever condensation occurred or temperature drop is definitely on me, however, I have never ever in a million years had any establishment in the Philly metro area serve fries in a plastic container. That's just a hard no, dawg. Secondly, I don't know which places use american or canadian made cheese whiz, but I called both my favorite place in Philly and this place to make sure they were indeed using Kraft Cheese Whiz for authenticity. So I have a control group. This place's cheese didn't stay wet and solidified within my late pickup time and had an extra tanginess to it that I wasn't used to. Unfortunately I can't tell you why there was a discrepancy in flavor as I did my best to research. As for the cheesesteak, the Amoroso roll is exactly what you want on a Philly steak, and it was soft out of the package. The meat was chopped up fine like you would expect and had a decent flavor. Now, I know I ordered provolone with mine, instead of American like usual, but somehow it was dry and I missing some kind of sodium and fat content. The only word I can think of for this cheesesteak is serviceable. Probably won't go back any time soon, and just so they rest of y'all know, we don't put peppers on our steaks. lol stop it Another thing I'll say is I went in there with my Phillies jersey on after a Phillies win and nobody cared that I was wearing it, even though they have the Phanatic on the window. Not sure if this tracks for Philly or not. On one hand, Philly folks will always talk home team sports if they see you in a jersey, on the other, they don't care what you are doing. It's like if you put buttered toast on the back of a cat: which one will land on the floor?

I've never had authentic Philly cheesesteaks before, but I'd imagine this is the closest thing you could get without having to travel several hundred miles. The inside is littered with Philadelphia paraphernalia and sports team memorabilia. They offer a drive-through and a small indoor eating area. The menu is pretty much what you can expect with a variety of different types of cheesecake arranging from different cheeses and some different meats along with different sides that you can compare with it. I went with the classic cheesesteak with American cheese and it was pretty good. The bread was nice and soft. The meat was flavorful and the portions were pretty big as well. I will definitely have to try other cheesesteak places to compare, but this was a very good first experience.

I've been wanting to hit up Straight from Philly Steakout for a minute, so yesterday I finally made it happen, and it was straight flames. Rolled up to the drive-thru, so I can't speak on the inside vibe, but the service came through smooth. Ordered up the Spicy Philly--you get to pick your cheese, plus it's loaded with peppers and that RedHot sauce. Threw in some garlic parm fries on the side too. Those garlic parm fries? Straight up slap--mad garlicky and cooked to perfection. Easy 9/10. The Spicy Philly? Not too spicy, but packed with flavor and cheesy goodness. Solid 8.5/10. Yeah, I'm definitely pulling up again.

8/3/24: came back for awesome food and it never disappoints! Food was fresh, rolls were amorosa like always, and our stomachs were filled. It was also when we walked in so we luckily didn't have to wait too long for our food! The staff was quick; friendly and attentive, and they were not able to make us a cold cut sub due to a recall, but the Philly hit the spot! We love coming here when we are in the mood for some subs or Philly cheese? Come and try the cheese fries man they're awesome! We also noticed they have a sub we'll be trying next, the Philly Phanatic steak! It sounds great! I usually miss Straight from Philly Steakout every couple of months, so I have a tendency to come back. This time we opted to place our order to go to be able to finish some errands and chores. Of course, like always we had high expectations and we were excited to be able to try our usuals in hopes of the familiar taste we expect from them. We ordered the Italian sub with no onion or tomato, and a Philly cheese with American cheese. This order we also got their fries, and a cheese fries on the side to go with our meal. Both of our subs were wrapped so tight, that they stayed beautifully intact after we got home, and opened them. They were like always: fresh, delicious, and had all the flavor we expect from Straight from Philly Steakout! The fries were crispy, our cheese fries were tasty, our Italian sub wasn't soggy even with the oil, vinegar and spices they put on them, and as always very tasty and fresh. Anytime we vote to get Straight from Philly Steakout we are left so satisfied, and full all day. This is our go to spot for subs, and for fries because the food is always fresh and made with love. Maybe one day I'll try more of their options, but for now I am always so happy with our usual. If you're in the area, stop by and give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Plenty of parking in the shopping center, the signage is very prominent so there is no mistaking where you're going. Walking in the front door, you feel like you're home again. Lots of cool artwork on the walls, a very wood-based environment, has a country charm to it with a modern upscale feel. We went there for appetizers as we were on a time crunch, so we ordered the blueberry chicken sliders, the corn ribs, and the blueberry chicken wings. I had heard about these for the longest time, and everyone said they were amazing. Well I'm here to tell you that they 100% are! The corn ribs were wonderful with the cilantro dipping sauce. The only thing that would have made them better is if they would have put some Jalisco cheese on it and made it a little more like street corn. But hey who am I to complain about these corn ribs? I ate them all. The blueberry chicken sliders were absolutely off the charts! I had heard about these several times. People saying things like they are the absolute best to your taste. Buds will be stunned for days. Well, they weren't wrong, these sliders were absolutely wonderful. And we cannot forget the blueberry smoked chicken wings. These things were so well cooked and the seasoning was perfect and the blueberry softs on top took it to a whole other dimension. I would eat probably three or four more plates of these. I'm looking forward to going back there for dinner, as they had plenty of options on the menu. Such as brisket, ribs and so forth. Definitely going back for round two. Bottom line? You cannot go wrong with this place. Do yourself a favor, take some friends, and get all of the aforementioned appetizers. Your taste buds will. Thank you!

They give you the option of red or green sauce or the option for half and half which is what he chose. The salsa verde was good and the right blend of tomatillos, green chiles and everything else. It was not overly spicy but just the right amount of kick to let you know there was some heat in there and he tried the pepper that it came with but it was out of his spice range. The salsa Roja was flavorful but it had a little more kick than some of the other chilaquiles I've had but It complimented everything else. The chorizo was fresh and made onsite. My daughter and son in law took me for Mothers Day. There was hardly anyone inside so already not a good sign. I mean, it's Mothers Day for goodness sakes. The restaurant industry's biggest day of the year. It was lunch time, pretty much straight up noon. It should have been packed. It felt like walking into a cafeteria. Decor was lacking. Looked like they were going for half Mexican half cowboy. And I get that. I also get going for minimalist style. It just didn't feel welcoming. It felt cheap and like they didn't care what it looked like. But, looks aren't my priority when I want good food. Daughter and I each ordered a cocktail. Both were very tasty but also pretty weak. Also, I don't like drinking my fruity cocktail out of a plastic cup. All tableware was plastic. Except the cutlery. If I'm paying $30 for an entree, serve it on a real plate, or even on a metal tray. Not cheap plastic that looks like stoneware. Now for the food: daughter's salad was good. Nice fresh leafy greens with a lime ranch dressing. Her tacos were itty bitty, but for $4 each, it's to be expected. The hatch green chili Mac and cheese was ok. Nothing to rave about but no complaints either. Corn bread was tasty but fell apart when cut. I liked that it was covered in honey. I had burnt ends with brisket and Brussel sprouts. Sprouts were mushy, not crispy at all. The only flavor was the heat. I liked my burnt ends, but I've had better. Brisket was overcooked and extremely dry. Little to no flavor and really small, thin slices. I've had brisket from some of the top nationally rated BBQ places and it's always been super juicy, flavorful and nice thick slices that fall apart between your fingers. I've stood in line in the heat for over two hours to have that food. So I know good BBQ My son in law had tri tip and brisket with fries. And his plate was swimming in grease. That should never happen with low and slow cooking of meats. The amount of grease on his plate, and the state of the brisket are the ultimate reason for this less than stellar review. My daughter and I both wondered if the sandos would have been better choices, but meat that's only good if made into a sando, is not saying much about the meat. Maybe I'll get one and see if it's better. But I won't be back for plates of meat. I only took a picture of my plate. I really wish I had gotten one of my son in laws plate.

Unfortunately, that's where the good part ended. Our waitress came over and told us the food would take at least 40 minutes to come out. Not ideal, but fine -- it's a busy Friday night in Vegas, we get that. What was absolutely ridiculous was when I asked if we could at least put our order in right away so we could get in line. She flat out told us we couldn't even place an order because "everyone walked in at the same time" and that her computer was somehow "blocked by the back." I'm sorry, what? Since when does a restaurant's ordering system just stop working because customers arrive? I've never heard something so absurd. We were literally sitting there ready to order and spend money, and they refused to even take the order. This is Las Vegas -- a city that handles massive crowds every single night. If your restaurant can't handle a normal Friday night rush without your system "blocking orders," you have serious operational issues. Seating customers and then refusing to take their order is beyond frustrating -- it's incompetent. Completely unacceptable. Do better.
