We came around 1030am, and it wasn't busy, but it was full. We waited a couple mins for a table for 4, which maybe took 10 mins max. We were offered bottled water while we waited, (Vegas was 108 degrees). The waitresses were very sweet. Very knowledgeable as well. Their recommendations were on point cus the food was truly amazing! If you go, it's not called gritz cafe for no reason! Get the grits! I added crushed sausage and cheese to mine and man oh man!! That took it from a 10 to a 20! So good! I ordered the chicken and waffles and it came with a side of gritz. The chicken was perfectly fried. Crispy on the outside. Juicy and flavorful on the inside. Once the hot sauce was added it was even better! The waffle itself was also amazing. Now i love me a Waffle House and i swear by their waffles, but these got them beat by 100000! I ordered a plain waffle, my brother got the yams waffle. (Yams in the batter.) OMG!! That was beyond delicious! My sister got the peach cobbler waffle which might've slightly been a bit better than the sweet potato, and i got the regular waffle which was still a good 10/10! They serve it with hot syrup. After hearing so much we finally made it out. I called on a weekend to hear that you gotta wait and they cut the line an hour before closing, so we took our chances with a Monday. Paid off. I was in town for the Chris Brown concert and like many others I came to Gritz Café after seeing so many great reviews. I fully understand that a popular restaurant will come with a long wait. That was not the issue. The real problem was the lack of communication. I arrived around 1:45 pm and was told there would be about a two hour wait for a table. The hostess suggested I try takeout, which sounded like a good option since there were outdoor seats available. However, when I went to place my takeout order I was told they were no longer accepting any more orders. At that point there was no way to eat at all. I had already spent more than twenty dollars on an Uber to get there only to find out I could not be seated or order anything. I then had to spend even more money on rides to another restaurant and back to my hotel. That part was especially frustrating because a simple sign outside or clearer communication from the hostess could have saved me the trip and the cost. I was excited to try this place but I never even got the chance. Maybe the food is as good as the reviews say, but my experience was more about poor communication than the wait time. Hopefully this is something they can improve on so other guests do not walk away just as disappointed. read more

Somebody Feed Phil led us to this establishment and thank you Phil. We arrived post lunch rush and we were promptly seated by the wonderful Cheyenne. Today was a gentle reminder of how meaningful the simple things can be. I finally had the opportunity to take my neighbor to Gritz Cafe for her very first visit. She had been a bit hesitant at first--having recently relocated from Chicago--and with life and schedules moving so quickly, it took us four months to make it happen. I truly appreciate her patience. As expected, the food was absolutely delicious, but what made the experience even more special was the warmth we received.
