Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional I specifically explained to this company exactly what I needed during the scheduling process. This was a very sensitive case, and I made that clear from the beginning. I asked them to come fully prepared, paid them in advance, and was repeatedly assured--both by the office and by the technician directly--that they were ready to perform the required testing. When the technician arrived on site, it became immediately clear that he had no idea what was going on. After previously confirming by phone that he was ready, he then told me on site that he could not perform the testing because he was not prepared. This lack of organization caused unnecessary problems and delays on a critical matter that required professionalism and attention to detail. The disconnect between what was promised and what was delivered is unacceptable. This is one of the most disorganized and unprofessional companies I have ever worked with. Poor communication, poor preparation, and a complete failure to deliver on agreed services. Do not use this company. read more

Recommended by costco as pref vendor for Lenox so assumed was top quality. Took a while to get service but finally at end of 2024 Dec managed to get heat pump hvac installed at an agreed price. Seemed good value. Was then told by salesman after signing of agreement that the rebate would not apply to the external a/c unit so price would be higher. Lenox heat pump Unit worked for 1 year and 1 week then got no heat only cold air. Requested service in Jan of this year. Was told earliest they could come was mid Feb. So for over a month no heat in bedrooms! The then state since it's bit over a year unit was purchased they will be service charge for coming and they might need to check on warranty!! On the day of service 5 mins before service call was told they have an emergency and could they come later. Pretty dissatisfied with B service and Costco recommendation. Will contact Costco on it. read more

Called Bellows for a leaking/running toilet. Assumed rubber seal was worn out and needed replacing. Service technician tried very hard to upsell to change the toilet and that it would cost $400 for labor only if we furnished the new toilet. Alternatively, we could have him replace the seal for $300. After chiding the tech about the cost of the seal being less than $5, he went to his truck to find a replacement seal. Came back and said he didn't have the right one, but he could either go order one and come back to change the seal for $300, or put the old one back. So for the $99 service fee, he put back the old seal which we asked them to fix. read more

The technician was punctual, professional, and thorough. The quote for our sewer lateral repair is reasonable. We've lived here for 30 years. Bellows has done a lot of excellent work for us over the years. When our water main started leaking (water pouring out under the house) after hours on a Friday night, Bellows was the ONLY company to respond. They provide really excellent service! read more

We have been putting off an HVAC upgrade for years. We finally committed and reached out for multiple quotes. We contacted Bellows through Costco and they were by far the most professional and responsive. The installation went the same. The team kept all timelines, had great communication, and made sure we received a good finished product for our mini-split system. If I had any complaint, it would be that Costco only allows Lennox systems to be installed under their contract, which I think limits options. Overall we had a great experience using Bellows and would do so again! read more

Our thermostat died last week, so I called Bellows as they were the ones that installed our HVAC system over three years ago. They told me upfront that it would cost $189 just to come to our house and whatever additional cost it would be to do further work. I did tell them I felt our thermostat was dead and that I had already purchased a new thermostat (different brand) to replace it. I also called another company which was going to charge $175/hr regardless of what I decided to do. The Bellows techinician did confirm that the thermostat was indeed dead (powered it off and on) and then installed the new thermostat (maybe 30 minutes max). Our bill was $189 for the service call and $267 flat rate for installing a client provided thermostat. Thank you for completing the work in one visit, but two stars off for value. read more

Would not recommend if you have a heat pump. The tech who talks to himself (mentioned in other reviews) did not have the equipment to test the system for leaks and quoted an exorbitant price to do a leak detection that was quickly found by another company. A follow up appointment was scheduled without even contacting us to ask if it was a convenient time. read more

Bellows' tech, Jeremy, showed up on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem I was having with my old furnace, and left clear written instructions, complete with photos, so I can fix the problem should it occur again. Had a good experience with Bellows when we had a sewer project in the Santa Cruz area. Called them for another project in the South Bay where we had sewer water overflowing in the front yard. Was able to get an appointment for inspection/evaluation in a matter of a couple of days. However, even before showing up for the in-person appointment, the Tech called ahead to clarify what we were experiencing and told me that it might be an issue covered by the city and I should consult them first before having a paid service call by Bellows -- as it was likely a lateral drain/sewer line blockage covered by the city. Sure enough, the city Sanitary District Dept came out to take a look and said it was in fact their job to clear the blockage close to the main. Can't say I was very impressed with them. Our landlord asked them to fix the heating. It took a week until the first available appointment, and the diagnosis was essentially taking pictures (no checking of components or wiring). Then they said they need to come back a second time for more diagnosis - a week later. Then they canceled the day of because of sickness. A week after that they said they can't fix the system. Consider we're now three weeks without heating in the winter. Thankfully our landlord had found another company who diagnosed on the same day, had two offers (fixing or replacing) the next business day, and had a new heat pump installed a week later. read more

Bellows upgraded our old panel to 200 amps and installed a natural gas whole house generator. The install crew were always polite, hardworking and on time. They explained what they were doing and answered any questions we had about the process. There was a tech onsite for all the county inspections. I expected a lot and they exceeded my expectations. I needed a replacement 75 gallon water heater. Mike insisted on coming to evaluate the situation on-site and go over the advantages and disadvantages of each type of system. We determined that I was best off with the least expensive option, Israel and Mike installed the new water heater. They came on time, did a fantastic job, and cleaned up nicely. Had an appointment today 8am - 10am. Called them at 8.30am to find out when the technician is arriving. They didn't know and said the technician will text or call. Then I got a text around 9.06am that Keith is on his way. Then I got a voice mail from Keith around 9.45am that he is stuck in traffic and wont get there till 10.15am which is beyond the window they gave me. I finally cancelled the appointment close to 10.30am since he hadn't arrived. I don't have time all day to wait for over 2 hours and had another appointment/meeting to go to. They were recommended by Mitsubishi for service / maintenance but I won't use them again. Mitsubishi also recommended Alternative and Comfort Energy. The lady apologized and offered to reschedule but given the poor service, I will schedule with the other companies instead. read more

Got a phone call at 7:30 AM on Tuesday that left a message that the man is on his way, and a few minutes before 8 he is knocking at my door. Jeff was the man of the hour! He explained everything that he was doing, and whatever he would do as he went along. I was provided with the latest model of thermostate, and how to use it for home comfort with energy savings. Not only did Bellows show up the same day (now that's great service!) but the technician, John Costales, was professional, courteous, and knew his stuff. Bellows indulges in false advertising. I informed them months ago that the Sonoma Clean Power rebate was no longer $3,000 for a heat pump system and yet it is still listed at that amount on their website. That rebate switched to $1,000 on August 1st, 2023. I know that because I turned in my paperwork on August 4th. It took Bellows 6 weeks to get my HERS test and my permit paperwork ready. It should have taken 2 weeks. They were very prompt at moving things forward until after I paid them in full on the day of installation. I have e-mailed them three times. Twice I emailed the office administrator and the project manager. The third time I emailed the owner. Each time I have suggested ways they could ameliorate my loss. Each time I informed them that the $3,000 rebate no longer existed. Each time I received no response. I wish I had gone with Ongaro and Sons. Their bid came in $1,000 higher but getting an additional $2,000 in the Sonoma Clean Power rebate would put me $1,000 ahead with total cost. I just checked their website and they are accurately listing the Sonoma Clean Power Rebate as currently $1,000. read more

I wish I had contacted Bellows earlier to replace my old furnace. Ben visited us when he saw a Bellows truck parked on our driveway, and discussed with Steve for an optimal solution for us. He provided us with two models and got through all details with us. Great communication with Ben and the service desk for our project. An installation appointment was scheduled within a week after we signed the contract. Bellows team of Jonathan and Danny arrived at time. They are very knowledgeable, humble, and amazing mechanic engineers! They got the installation and vent sealing done in a day. I really like the M30 WIFI and app controllable thermostat, and the Lennox EL297DF model is much quieter than our old furnace, so far it runs pretty well. I've used them for electrician and hvac services. Pricing is fair and in line with other quotes I got. But what I like is the professionalism of their technicians. They were prompt, respectful, and the projects are completed on time. They don't try to upsell you on expensive options and are mindful of our budget. Other companies for instance force me to install a new gfci circuit to add just one outlet but the folks from bellows went with a more practical approach. If you're looking for a reliable company to fix your AC unit, this company will be the last company you should consider, period. (1) The initial diagnosis fee is Not cheap, more then the other company. (2) The technician didn't give you the estimate until you got the bill. $5 fuse, he'll charge you $179. (3) After 4 days, system broke down, technician didn't know what to do, proposed more Expensive solutions...the system never got fixed...I have to hire the other five stars company & fixed it.
