We had one of their plumbing techs came out on Monday for a leak in our crawl space. The crawl space had water in it, so the tech came up and said we needed the space dried by professionals before work can begin. I checked my email and the tech sent a work order to have (2) 5 foot pipes replaced in the kitchen waste line. Pacific coast home services wanted $4k for this job. WTF? We put floor air movers on the space and had it dried out in 2 days. We then had another plumber come out and do the repair for $650.00 It turns out, the 45* elbow had a crack. It took literally 35 minutes to repair. I would strongly suggest not doing business with these guys. In a time of crisis, I can see how nice people can get conned and ripped off by these crooks.

My older circuit breaker.

Just had them come out to fix my circuit breaker. Electrical work is sooo pricey, but they were extremely punctual and professional! Dispatch gave an estimated time of arrival wast between 12pm and 2pm. They showed up at 12 sharp! (Took a few extra minutes to find my bldg b/c my complex is a maze!) They were able to locate the rare breaker switch for my unit. It was a really old model. Got me installed and back in business under an hour, including the round trip to the store to buy the breaker!

TL;DR summary : - Company extremely over-charges for replacement parts - Company does not take ownership to address customer complaints or concerns I have spent more than $5,000 with Pacific Coast to replace my outdoor A/C unit and coil over last couple of years. Recently, I called them again to check out a problem I was having with the new A/C unit. After looking into the problem, the technician diagnosed it to be a broken capacitor that needed to be replaced (unrelated to the new A/C unit). The problem is that they decided to charge me close to $350 for the replacement capacitor (see screenshot of invoice) on top of the $560 charge for the labor costs. I don't mind playing $560 for labor but $350 is extremely excessive for a new capacitor. As it was getting late, I didn't want to make an issue of it with the technician as he had been working hard at it but he assured that they were charging a reasonable market rate for it. So I settled the amount. But after the technician left, I decided to look up how the capacitor costs and it's a $10 part!! So I called back the next day asking to speak to someone about this over-charging. A reasonable markup is to be expected but how can anyone justify charging $350 for a $10 part? Over-charging was the just first step. This was compounded by the fact that no one in position of authority to address my concern would call me back. This service was done in late August 2021 and the only reason why I'm writing this in January 2022 is that I've given this company ample time to address this issue. I called repeatedly and after repeated assurances that someone would call me back, no one did. And what's worse is that every single manager that I was passed on to would ultimately leave the company. I finally was put through to the GM (Jim) who seemed genuinely interested in addressing my complaint. He promised to refund me part of the cost and I was OK with that. Well another two months passed and no refund materialized. I called back yet again and what do you know, that GM has also left the company.

Patched wall nice job!

They saved my kitchen!! We had a plumbing company out to fix our clogged kitchen sink. There was no clean out for the kitchen pipes so they had to cut a hole in the outside of the house to put one in. The plumbing company doesn't fix the wall though so we were left to figure that out on our own. We called PCHS since they do plumbing and home repair. Their technician came out to fix the hole and somehow noticed a hairline crack in the new pipe. He asked us to run the water for a couple of minutes and sure enough there was a crack in the pipe the other company had just installed. If he hadn't noticed that and patched the wall that leak would have destroyed our kitchen. PCHS fixed the pipe and patched the wall. Really great experience and we will be using them for all out future plumbing and electrical needs.

I am grateful I found this company…read more I had an emergency for a client and needed an electrician urgently. I must have called 15+ different companies on a Friday afternoon with no luck, most without an answer entirely. I wish Yelp suggested these guys. It would have made my night much more enjoyable and I wouldn't have had to take extra headache medicine. I got ahold of their owner Rafael - from the initial call, he asked the right questions, understood the severity and instead of Rafael saying my visit will be $_______... he said "I'll be right over". I appreciated this because I expressed the urgency. Some may say it was an emergency call, exactly right. Within the hour he arrived with his assistant and started diagnosing the electrical issues. Within 2 hours he was able to pinpoint and address concerns while explaining what he was doing throughout the process. Incredible! Pricing is what one should expect for such a specialty trade. Very fair value for the time spent. Customer service goes a long way and this company should be at the top of the list for any electrical work in the Bay Area. I know I'll be using him moving forward. Great job Electricians On Duty & thank you Rafael. Good people providing good services in the Bay Area. Keep going!!!

Raphael responded quickly and was up front with pricing and availability. Raphael and an associate arrived on time, and were polite and patient with my explanation and questions. They spent an hour doing testing and trying several things, and checked in with me prior to starting the next longer stage of troubleshooting. Since it was getting close to the end of the day, we opted to end the appointment. Since they were not able to solve my problem despite an hour work, they opted to not charge me for the service. Raphael additionally offered to consult over the phone if I decided to get a second opinion. Overall great experience, thank you Raphael!

However, based on very strong yelp reviews, I decided to give Duke Electric a go. And I have to say thanks to Yelp and Duke as we remodel a rental It has been a fairly stress-free process so far. Duke responded to the message within Yelp almost immediately. The first part that stood out is his promptness. He answers his phone. I don't think I left one voicemail during the entire process. We had a host of electrical issues that we needed to address before we could put the Home back on the market. The other shocking part to me at least was that Duke was respectful of my time. If he said he was gonna be there at 9 o'clock he was there and in fact, I had initially assumed we would be on typical contractor time, but realized very quickly. I needed to be there when he said he was gonna be there. We had a fairly extensive list of I've work we needed to get done and it was all completed in a timely fashion. Add to this, his prices were actually better than some of the other estimates we received and going back the customer service was excellent. I highly recommend this contractor if you're considering electrical work and would give him six stars if Yelp would let me.

His pricing was similar to the others and he understood that I didn't want any drywall damage. The others could or would not accomodate this request. He was flexible about the day and time for installation and worked around remote work meetings schedules and separate fan delivery from Home Depot. He was able come by on a Friday and his crew were able to pre wire in everything in a couple of hours without any holes in the drywall by pulling the wire through the existing conduit. The fans arrived the next day on Saturday and he was able to again accomodate the remote work meeting schedule and able to install these very nice fans in a couple of hours and even immediately corrected the tilted rod that one of his crew had installed incorrectly. I am a perfectionist and one of the most difficult people to impress and gotta say I was very impressed. We were impressed by his communications, punctuality, and flexibility. We recommend Duke Electric for any electrical jobs whether they are large or small.

Danielle got back to me the same day with a quote and I sent up an installation date for a kitchen light and several outlet replacement's. I received a text message confirming the next day's service to remind me (great customer service. Danielle is very pleasant to interact with as well as great customer service!). Jason came out right on time and I can't express how highly impressed I was with his personality first of all and then the great customer service I received! I'm a retired older single woman that really doesn't like to have strangers in my home even for professional home services. I was very comfortable with Jason in my home! Not only did I receive excellent installation results, but I really enjoyed the conversation we had during the time he was here. I have a few more electrical jobs that need to be done and I will definitely hire him again! The cost for the installation of the light and outlet replacement's was extremely reasonable.... another reason to hire him. I highly recommend Wolfe electrical. I didn't appreciate the urgency (she said I needed it done asap, when I had at least 4 to 5 months). Aside from that, the communication from the project manager was competent & efficient. When Trout took over communication went haywire. During the city permitting process they said in their letter to me that I just needed to be home for (think the window was 8:30 to 9:45am). They said nothing about having to keep opening and closing my garage door access. Well, I refuse to use my PTO from work because they're not sure how long they're going to be, or the start and end times. So around 3 PM at work I got a frantic text from another (different) project manager asking me to open my garage. Well, hello, there is no power, so how can I open the garage? Finally, they got that sorted out and around 5 PM one of their techs asked me to open my garage. I never got a response back from him when I asked to confirm if he was done and I could shut it again (by the way, I was doing this remotely from work since I have an app.) Communication needs to greatly improve in order for me to recommend this business.
