I've walked by Bellini almost every day and never thought to stop in--until my boyfriend suggested it, and I'm really glad we did. We went on a weekday and it happened to be completely empty, so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. It made for a really calm, intimate dining experience, which I actually loved. The food was solid--everything we had was flavorful and well-prepared. The calamari stood out as a great appetizer, crispy and delicious. Service was excellent as well, very attentive (probably helped that we were the only ones there). We always order dessert no matter where we go, and the cheesecake did not disappoint--definitely a great way to end the meal. Overall, this place feels like a little hidden gem in the neighborhood. We loved dinner at Bellini. Pretty quiet For a Saturday evening. Excellent service. Very fine cooking.

I am not sure where to begin. I will begin by saying its smaller than I thought. There was some one outside smoking which seeped in and make the restaurant smell a bit. The heat was deff blasting and the music playing sounded like Frank Sinatra. The music I feel didn't go with the atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu is also set up oddly. My chicken Milanese was under salads. We got a bread basket. The bread was not good and the oil that we had, had no taste whatsoever. My friend had pasta with Clams. It was very oily.. she also had a Caesar salad and to her the dressing tasted not good and the coloring of it was off. As she asked for extra. I had crispy Brussels sprouts which besides the beer was the only good thing. They were super crispy. I had chicken Milanese. The ends of the chicken were cold so I just ate the middle. The arugula that came with it did not look fresh or appetizing. The cheese on it looked rubbery and the chunks were pretty cold. Also, usually with chicken Milanese you get a lemon to squeeze over it. Instead of a lemon, I got an orange slice. I would not recommend this place due to what I just wrote. read more

Bellini is a great place to come for a date night dinner. It's a beautiful restaurant that has amazing pasta and pizzas. We ordered their Linguini Vongole - this Pasta was so tasty, you get fresh baby clams, and a nice amount of garlic, and the white wine wasn't too overpowering, and nicely garnished with parsley and olive oil! it was perfect. As for their Cavateli Carbonara, it was super cheesy in a good way. Very filling but worth it. Now for their Pizzas, we ordered the Margherita Pizza and Prosciutto Pizza to go. The food is outstanding. I had a Duck special, I can't remember the exact name but it was delicious. It takes a lot to catch me off guard, but this dish made me feel like I was back in Italy. The bread for the table was subpar as it wasn't too hot & the butter was cold so it was difficult to spread. I had the arugula salad topped with Parmesan & crispy Prosciutto. It was very light & the vinaigrette gave it a good balance to the saltiness of the Prosciutto. For dessert I got the Tiramisu. It was a decent size to share for 2 & didn't feel super heavy. The service was great as the waitresses were very attentive. A table nearby spilled their wine, the staff quickly changed out the table cloth & gave them another glass of wine. Hoped for the best but.... First thing you see is a Red Bull cooler and lighting is bright. Looks like a carry out joint not a cozy restaurant. I can get past that. The waitress was incredibly slow. It was crowded when we arrived. But when time for dinner, it was almost empty. That did not stop them from taking over an hour to bring us our main course. We had to ask another waiter for bread -which arrived cold. Second basket was warm. Wine was fine. Had the merlot. Brussels sprout app was good. The main courses-which took another hour to arrive were all too salty. Veal piccata, gnocchi, and veal Marsala. The waitress never checked in on us during our loooong wait and her excuse why dinner was taking so long fell flat. She said that the kitchen had been very busy. The restaurant had emptied out about 30 minutes prior. You do the math. Overall, they have a great deal to improve on with food service and ambiance. read more

Doug and this Resturant Came as a knight in shining armor on our quest for food after quite the adventurous appetite/inducing night. Though originally headed to thyme and tonic, my healthy foodie friend and were greeted so enthusiastically by the server here and the outdoor seating seemed so vibrant and festive, we almost changed our plans and stayed: As fate would have it thyme and tonic was closed anyway and we found ourselves returning around 10.30pm with our tail between our legs to the friendly server here anyway. *quarantine curfew means most places close by 10 and the rest by 11* The overall dining experience did not disappoint once we were seated quickly. The meal spanned the usual Italian restaurant classics but all really well executed. We ended up with the eggplant Parmesan oh, the mushroom bruschetta, the grilled oysters salad, and a beet salad that was able to be customized and made proteinlicious with char broiled shrimp. The weather ended up being perfect for the kind of food that we were eating which was not too heavy- my main reason behind usually avoiding Italian. Just one thing to note: they only had mozzarella not burrata : we did end up with a caper salad and tomatoes were well seasoned and cheese fresh regardless As the breeze lit up our senses, The pacing of the food and the flowing of the conversation and water definitely elevated the evening from it could have been a bust to an absolute success. 5 stars for food and service! The ambience is cozy, elegant and quiet. I can only give 2 stars though because they have added a fragrance which is pumped through their air system! We've been frequenting Bellini for over a decade. It has been our 'go to' restaurant on the upper west side. Now, when we walk in we are hit with a fragrance smell that activates any lung or allergy one may have and covers the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. A true UWS Gem! We have been going here for years and the food, ambiance and the service (Victoria is amazing!!) have been consistently outstanding. I cannot recall a single time in the past 6 years I have had a bad meal here. Have I mentioned the classy music makes me feel I'm in Italy! Most recently, they catered a customized, pre-prepped Thanksgiving meal for my family that I kept in my fridge and reheated 2 days later on Thanksgiving. Leaving The Museum of Natural History the other evening, I decided to walk along Columbus Avenue the upper west side in search of a place to have dinner. There were so many cool looking places! I finally settled upon Bellini Italian Restaurant because I was definitely in the mood for pasta. Plus, most of the tables were empty and I really wanted to be seated quickly!-lol Miirrors hanging on the wall as decorative pieces and wooden tables/wooden chairs are in this quaint establishment. Gentle, enoyable music played in the background. Myself in the front and two other customers sitting together in the back were all of the customers in the restaurant.....which provided a cool + calm atmosphere. The server was kind, attentive and patient. He made sure that I became aware of the evening meal specials. Choosing seemed so easy since Spaghetti and Meatballs is one of my favorite dishes. He informed me that the restaurant currrently only sells non-alcolohic beverages but people are allowed to bring their own bottles of wine. I thanked him and simply ordered a Ginger Ale. Strolling down Columbus Ave on the Upper West Side last night, I came across a spectacular Italian restaurant called Bellini. They have an extensive menu of classic pastas and other Italian dishes and a wine list. Today was a very hot and humid night. Too hot to sit outside IMO. I chose a table inside where it was cooler. I started off with the Sicilian meatballs. A trio of plump meatballs drenched in marinara sauce. The bread they served also was sooooo good. Hot and fresh from the oven, it was so soft and fluffy! For my main pasta entree I ordered the Linguine Scampi. Juicy, plump shrimp served over linguine in a white wine, butter and garlic sauce. YES, it tasted as good as it sounds! We are relatively new to Bellini. We are from upstate, western NY just outside of Rochester, NY. The Finger Lakes Region. We first came in November 2021 and were treated like family. We had a larger group and they accommodated us and exceeded our expectations. When planning our June visit to our son's place, everyone agreed that Bellini was the dinner reservation desired! We arrived to an adorable outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant and while some restaurants may neglect those tables, NOT Bellini. Edouardo was delightful and the hostess and other servers accommodating and pleasant! I encourage you to try Bellini for yourself. While making a glowing review is great for the restaurant; selfishly, I can only hope that the intimate atmosphere and personal service never ever changes! Bellini is one of my boyfriend's favorite restaurants from his college days, so I was excited to try it. We really liked that they allowed us to BYOB, although they do have a beer/wine license of their own. Conveniently, there is a wine store next door, where we picked up a bottle of Pinot. The restaurant itself is very cozy with a minimalists take on decor. The food is definitely quality - very fresh and well-prepared, although the spaghetti portion was very small. Not only was the food amazing but the service was excellent. My kids loved the pizza and pasta. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli which she said was excellent. I had the grilled salmon which has to be the best salmon I've ever had at a restaurant. Kids had chocolate soufflé which I had to take a bite of and was very good. Coffee was served in pre-heated mugs which kept the coffee nice and hot. The restaurant was very accommodating for us especially with two small kids. We will definitely be back. This place is just your run of the mill basic Italian joint. Nothing too special about it. The caprese appetizer wasn't that great. The tomatoes were barely ripe. I ordered the greek salad as my main entree item and received a caesar. The server was apologetic and I decided to keep the caesar. The croutons were out of a bag, and the chicken that was $4 to add was the size of my palm, if not smaller. It also was overcooked and tasted like jerky. My friend got the eggplant parmesan. The eggplant was covered in what appeared to be plastic cheese. The ambiance was really odd too -- it was all over the place. It was trying to be romantic and nice but it just looked cheap and cluttered. Service was quick, efficient and friendly though. read more
