    Banana Espresso Martini
    Shai R.

This place is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location; it definitely gives Tulum vibes. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. We ordered the salmon skewers, rice, fries, teriyaki burger, banana espresso martini, and the matcha martini. The salmon wasn't fully cooked in my opinion and could have been grilled or seared a bit longer. The rice and burger were just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The fries, however, were delicious and seasoned perfectly. One positive was that the food came out very quickly. The service was decent overall, and our server did recommend a great drink option. Despite the mixed experience, I'd still consider giving this place another try.

Just left from here less than an hr ago. Was very busy. Was packed outside and everywhere inside the restaurant. About 4-5 bartenders working. The service was alright. I had the Marine Layer. Thought it was happy hour but was told there's no happy hour on Fridays. The drink was $17 with tax, $18.65. It wasn't worth it at all. It was a nice looking drink tho. It tasted alright. Barley tasted any liquor.

I wasn't too sure how good a restaurant on Venice beach would be just because I figured it would be all "hype" and not exactly quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The establishment nice, staff is friendly as well as helpful, and the food is good! I highlight recommend. It seems that it may turn into a late night spot later into the night, which seems fun. We were there for dinner so we didn't get to witness the late bight activities. Being that it's on Venice beach the prices are extremely fair. We opted for a ride share because parking can be a little tough especially with bigger vehicles.

everything was soo yummy and the interior/aesthetic was so cozy. I would 110% go back I highly recommend the pork boa buns, garlic noodles, and rock shrimp! They also make the best espresso martini I ever had!

Belles Beach House makes a really good first impression. A beautifully designed tiki-house concept without the rough edges most tiki-house-type establishments have (in my experience). So far, so good. I got the spicy tuna roll; my wife got the tuna avocado roll. Both were well-crafted with fresh ingredients. Very solid sushi rolls (although both were on the small side), but definitely not "wow" in terms of taste. The service was the key let-down and the reason for a 4-star (vs. 5-star) review. While the hostess sat us at our table promptly and we were given menus and water, it took some waving when literally no one came over to our table to take our order. The same was true when it came to paying the bill. Our waiter was friendly enough but didn't seem all that engaged. I could see myself returning to have an exotic cocktail at the bar, though.

Good sushi rolls here at Belles! Fresh and delicious can't stop eating them! The restaurant almost feels like you're in Maui with the Hawaiian touch. It's definitely a good place to stop by for fresh sushi and sashimi. I'm sure the cocktails are great too.

If you're looking for a spot that instantly puts you in island mode, this place nails it Just a short walk from the beach, the Hawaiian-inspired ambience alone makes it worth the visit--laid-back, breezy, and perfect for unwinding. The food definitely lives up to the vibes. Everything we ordered was satisfying. The rock shrimp was crispy and addictive, the tuna poke salad tasted fresh, and the teriyaki burger was just okay--nothing bad, but it didn't quite stand out compared to the other dishes. And of course, Tito's shots to top it all off for a birthday celebration. Between the atmosphere, great food, and beachside location, this is easily a spot I'd come back to again. Perfect for a casual hangout, date night, or just soaking in those aloha vibes.

First timers. Came to LA for the weekend and found this spot on TikTok. Located walking distance from Venice beach. We sat on the patio right away and our server was nice and friendly. We ordered the items below *Avocado toast - 2/10 *Teriyaki burger w/ fries - 7/10 *crispy shrimp app - 3/10 *tuna crispy rice - 5/10 *poke bowl - 9/10 *espresso martini flight (2 coconut + 1 strawberry yuzu) - 5/10 Spent about $200 overall Overall ambiance of the indoor outdoor setup was nice. Service was great. However the food was mostly a miss. Loved the poke bowl but that was about it. Bathrooms are super dim but cute.

First time here and the restaurant was cute and fully on theme, which made for a fun atmosphere. Most of the drinks were also delicious and surprisingly strong. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries (which were not included with the sandwich). The chicken was dry, the breading was burnt, and it was so tough that it became difficult to eat. It had a weird texture where it was stringy and hard. The fries, however, completely saved the meal. They were fresh, crispy, and paired perfectly with the truffle aioli.

Decided to take the boys to Venice beach for the first time and ended up grabbing lunch at Belles Beach House. First off there is a parking lot right across the street but if you want to stay for more than 3 hours, you're paying $35. Once we arrived we were seated outside on the patio and the area was nice and clean and it has like this tiki vibe to it. Our waitress was quick to take our order and gave some good suggestions on food. I decided on the kushi-yaki ponzu king salmon, the rock shrimp and some fries. I also went with the marine layer and everything was solid! I will say that their portions are small and the burger is also pretty small. My 6 year old son ordered a burger and it's was the perfect size for him. Oddly, I thought my oldest son's chicken nuggets was the highlight of everything. The chicken was nice and tender. Overall, it was really good and I would recommend it if you are in Venice. Also, note that everything is à la cart so French fries do not come with the sandwiches. I will be back to try the chicken sandwich even though my friend said it was a little dry. OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

Definitely giving those Tulum, tropical vibes and very fitting being in Venice and close proximity to the beach. We came here for a group dinner of about 6, where we were seated on time and the staff was friendly. The cocktails are tasty - tiki-style, sweet-taste reminiscent. I got the pineapple one which was tasty. Glasses seemed a bit smaller with the ice ratio so drinks finish up quick! Ordered to eat everything family-style. We ordered the crispy rocket shrimp, spicy tuna crispy rice, miso maple salad, mochiko chicken nuggets. Everything tasted solid, maybe not something I've been craving again but it's good! A friend was craving lobster rolls and then to their surprise it was actually lobster sushi rolls, but it ended up being a highlight of the night. I would consider coming back for trying other sushi rolls!

This place is a gem. Beautiful layout, whether you want with a cozy intimate meal inside or a more vibrant outdoor patio. The food selection is great, and it's hard to choose just one item, so I ordered 7! The chicken burger was succulent and juicy, pairs well with pineapple. The rock shrimp was amazing and the portions were generous. Try their sauteed green beans, the nuggets, or even the salmon sushi! I'm definitely coming back.

Before I start on how great our visit was I do need to emphasize the importance of making a reservation. They have quite the wait times however so worth it. We started with drinks and they were delicious as well as super cute! As for the food literally everything we ordered was superb! The poke bowl was fresh and good quality. The chicken sandwich had perfectly crunchy breading and the slaw was great. We also ordered kimchi pork belly buns, dumplings, sushi roll and truffle fries. Everything absolutely everything was on point. Highly recommend the dumplings; we got an extra order after devouring the first order lol service was great and although they were busy the food came out in a timely manner and our table was well attended to.

Do we need reservations for tonight at 8pm?

Yes. I'd always make one but you can always put your name in and walk around until your table is ready.

    How's the parking around Belle's?

You need to park and pay in lots near by. We will take Uber next time.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes, we were able to sit inside with our small dog.

    Do they have soy-free options?

Are they open during holidays i.e. New Year's Eve?

They just opened in fall 2021 and were open for NYE but I would advise you call for info & reservations.

    Are dogs allowed?

No, not even if they are in a carrier (I tried). However, service dogs are allowed.

Parking? Street or own parking lot?

There is Street parking and a paid parking lot across the street. Looking forward !

Is this place owned by the same people as Larry's? I'm asking as I had a bad experience at Larry's just before they closed down

    No, different owners.

    Is it kid friendly?

Yes, took my kid - and dog - there. Probably daytime is best though and early evening.

    Do they allow dogs?

    Yes!

Hi question. I am vaccinated and I have my vaccination card but I lost my iD. Will I need it to show it with my vaccination card? Or can I just show my vaccination card alone?

they only checked my vaccination card and didn't match it to my ID last night

For reservations, do you need everyone to be present in order to be seated?

Yes, they won't seat you until everyone in your party has arrived.

Do you need reservations if just having drinks?

i don't think you do... we showed up on a sat night without reservation and we got right in for diner... the place is pretty big.. lots of tables :)

    1. Is there indoor seating? 2. Is it overpriced for what you get (serving size)

Yes to indoor seating! I don't think it's overpriced at all. I went with 4 people and we got 5 apps and it was filling :)

Yes, they offer their regular menu during brunch.

Are children allowed? I can't find the answer on here or their website?

If you are expecting a "Sushi Omakase", you may be disappointed. After some ChatGPT research I learned that there is such a thing as a "Izakaya Omakase" and Shriube is an izakaya first and sushi restaurant second. Now, if you got this far, here is the cause of this review. One offering was wagu meatballs. They were tasty, not great. What followed immmediately after was wagu curry (with rice). The rub in my mind was the wagu curry had essentially the same flavor as the meatballs and I felt it was just a way for the chef to use up meatballs. Even in an Izakaya first driven Omakase should at least give a customer a variety of tastes, not a repeated one.

It immediately sets the tone for a meal rooted in traditional technique, yet open to a more modern, elevated interpretation. Yakitori here follows a philosophy deeply embedded in Tokyo's top counters, full utilization of the bird, precise binchotan grilling, and a deliberate pacing that emphasizes progression. Within this framework, I explored a more contemporary pairing approach. Elite "Cult" wines into a setting traditionally dominated by beer, sake, and shochu A bottle of Chateau Petrus kicks off the early progression. Its plush plum fruit and silky tannins align with the smoky depth of the grill, particularly alongside lightly charred chicken skewers where restraint in seasoning allows the wine elegance to surface. My approach tonight reflects a growing high end dining trend seen across Tokyo's top yakitori-ya, where prestigious Bordeaux and Napa cult wines are increasingly paired with yakitori. Bringing that perspective to Culver City, the contrast becomes intentional, humble, fire driven cuisine meeting some of the world's most coveted bottles. As the meal progress, the pairing shifts into a high gear, Screaming Eagle alongside Petrus elevates the wagyu into something far beyond traditional yakitori. Both wines concentration and structure cut cleanly through the beef's rendered fat, creating a powerful interplay between richness and precision. Even beef tendon, often seen as a more rustic skewer, takes on a refined dimension here. Against the backdrop of these world class wines, its savory glaze and charcoal kissed exterior provide a compelling contrast to the wines depth and smooth textures. Coming up next are the sake, Fudoh Junmai Daiginjo offers a composed, textural counterpoint. Its rounded umami and gentle fruit sweetness integrate seamlessly with tare-glazed skewers, while a clean finish resets the palate between richer bites and the Tenko 40 Muroka Nama introduces a more expressive, energetic layer. Paired with chawanmushi, sashimi, and lighter preparations, its fresh aromatics and subtle acidity bring lift and contrast, expanding the range of the meal beyond what wine alone could achieve. What I am experimenting here tonight are full of contrast, charcoal and silk, fat and structure, tradition and reinterpretation. Pairing wines like Petrus with yakitori may seem unconventional to a lot of you, but within the context of modern Tokyo dining, it feels increasingly natural. Here in Los Angeles, Gokigen Tori captures a glimpse of that evolution, where even the most traditional skewers meet the world's most prestigious glass. As always, I'll let the photos speak for the rest of the fun.

Although it didn't necessarily live up to the hype, it was definitely an authentic spot tucked in a busy area of LA. Parking, was particularly hard to find. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Immediately greeted by a friendly staff who showed us our table. Ambience was reminiscent of a local spot you'd find in Tokyo. A comforting, warm, bright place that serves as a familiar dinner spot that makes me wanna go back to Japan. For first timer, the menu was slightly hard to navigate. Lol, but I guess that speaks to the authenticity of the Japanese menu. Assorted pork belly wrapped yakitori/skewers, 7.8/10: these were hyped up by both my friend and the server, but overall it was slightly underwhelming. The skewers were all seasoned nicely, although they were a bit hard to eat since they were so big. Starting with the pork belly wrapped cabbage skewer, I don't believe the cabbage added any sustenance to the dish. I did like the bacon wrapped tomato skewer since the pop of acidity and freshness from the tomato paired well with the fat from the pork. Chicken Karaage, 9.1/10: definitely the best dish here. Chicken was fried perfectly, and was warm when it came out. The batter was not too thick or heavy. Season well with enough space. The lemon is a must for acidity and brightness. And of course they kewpie mayo is a nice touch. Tonkotsu Ramen, 7.5/10: the pork broth was rich and deep. The noodles were nice and chewy and firm clinging onto that broth. However, the portion was a bit small for the price. I was caught off guard by that. Granted, this place doesn't boast about the ramen. Overall, this wasn't anything mind blowing. Stuffed chicken wing, 8/10: stuffed generously with ground chicken ginger scallions and seasonings. The outside skin was flavorful crispy and savory. The temperature of the wings were pretty good too. Solid.

They don't have a lot of the beginner or over the top type of rolls. Everything is just very straightforward. One of my favorite parts is they have indoor and outdoor seating, but if you choose to sit outdoor, which is what we did, you're able to sit in a covered patio on the second floor and have almost views of the bay, but still really nice views of the area. Service here is very fast and our waiter did not really speak English but was very attentive. It's in a small shopping center so there is a lot of free parking attached, otherwise it will be street parking. For this visit, we just did a mix of nigiri, hand rolls, and cut rolls. I would say some of the highlights were the yellowtail nigiri, the baked crab roll, the salmon roll, and one of my personal favorites: the spider hand roll. They have a revolving menu with some things that stay and other limited run specials so it's the sort of place where you can get something new each visit. I will definitely be back again soon and would recommend.

We've been here a gazillion times and we'll be back a gazillion times more. We love both the sushi and izakaya items. The nigiri, rolls and carpaccios are (literally) chef's kiss! And their fried, steamed, sauteed items are exceptional. I don't know what magical incantations and techniques are used on the miso eggplant, but people who actively don't like eggplant love this dish. It's caramelized deliciousness. Straight-up witchcraft I tell you.  I know I waxed on and on about the bacon mochi in my previous review, but I need to you hear me when I extol its virtues from the highest mountain. Plus, this time, I have video of the epic pull! The fish tacos are superb. There a light, crispy batter on the flaky fish with fresh veggies on top. I daresay I felt healthy eating these tacos. The sauteed scallops with ponzu is an absolute must-order. The scallops are cooked (not overcooked, not undercooked) to a perfect texture that retains the natural sweetness of scallops, which contrasts beautifully with the savory-tangy-umami elixir created by ponzu and butter. The sauce is so delicious that we always order a side of rice to get every last drop.

We came in for dinner on a Sunday night with a large group and were seated within 15 minutes. From what we could tell, there were only two servers, and they were responsible for running their own food while also handling takeout orders. They did an AMAZING job for only two people managing so much. As soon as we were seated, we got waters and let our server know we would be paying separately. She was very friendly and worked with us perfectly. We were able to split the bill into four checks, which worked great for all the couples in the group. I ordered the Bento Box with salmon, and my husband got the Bento Box with chicken. We also ordered the Crunch Roll. The Crunch Roll came out first, and it was delicious and definitely lived up to the name--it was actually crunchy! I loved the size of the Bento Box. It came with so much food and included a starter miso soup. The miso soup had great flavor, although I personally prefer larger tofu pieces. That might just be a personal preference, though. I usually have a lot more to say in my reviews, but everything was absolutely delicious and the service was truly 10/10. I do want to mention that one of our friends ordered the ramen, and she felt the flavor was a little bland. Her parents own both a Mexican restaurant and a sushi restaurant, and one of her dad's rules is that if you're a sushi restaurant, stick with sushi and do it well instead of trying to do too many different things. One thing done really well is sometimes better than trying to do everything.
