8/29/25 Getting lunch!! First off, Really classy, beautiful restaurant !! Lots of seating and Great bar! Workers are kind and welcoming. I was given a tea to start. Given quickly. The bartender was Great! I asked if the Queens Melt was popular. He said it's the most popular. Ordered that with kettle chips & aioli on the side. Very much enjoyed the bar! GREAT atmosphere. Music playing too!! Tea to start was refreshing and great. Their cocktails, I was told, are popular and they have a Great variety!! Something to try next time. Lunchtime!! Fantastic!! DELICIOUS Queens Melt! 1/2 was plenty! Didn't even need the aioli, but I did try some and it was tasty to dip. Flavorful, thick turkey and a good amount! Great Kettle chips. I asked for ketchup & hot sauce and that was given!! Made the kettle chips even better!!! Great! Checked up on while enjoying! Appreciated!! Asked for to-go containers and given shortly later. Paid for order with good day wishes & left. Absolutely, GREAT service & DELICIOUS lunch with another meal of leftovers. Look forward to going back to try a drink soon!! Highly recommended!! They deserve every star!

Fresh sourdough bread, gluten free garlic bread, meatballs, olive oil & vinegar

Delicious gluten free options. The garlic bread was a seasoned pizza crust (I think) and was delicious. I had the chicken Alfredo and could not have been happier with it. My husband and son got the meatballs for an appetizer and they said they were delicious. Their main courses were great as well - crab ravioli and chicken Marsala. We will go back any time we are in Modesto!

Crab Ravioli Dinner

Everytime I come here I am so impressed with the food and service. We started with their yummy complimentary house-made bread and oil. Yum! The arancini are a must get! Crisp, creamy, spicy, just amazing and a HUGE portion! The bolognese was rich and filling. The caprese chicken salad was the perfect lunch entree. Light yet filling!

Such a cozy ambiance on Main Street. This is a great place for a date night or to escape into a a culinary experience unlike any other. All of the details in this restaurant are so well thought out, from the cloth napkins, the clay dishes, and dim lighting for dinner... you will really feel special. We always get the fig pizza. It's the best!

Great date night spot. Even better food and service! The drinks have a heavy pour and our steak was cooked perfect!

White Sangria

Popped into Bella Luna during the opening of The Goods and wasn't disappointed. They only had the bar opened, so I ordered a white sangria and got it fairly quickly. Great customer service and recommendation, made a great first impression!!

Always have had great service and loved what I've had so far every time I visit. The crab ravioli is my usual go to but the shrimp arrabbiata rec by our waiter was phenomenal. power microgreens gotta have the honorable mention too. homey ambiance and the drinks are always great as well

I love Bella Luna. Everything I have had was great. Their pasta was superb, I had a calzone one time that was good. Their cannolis were really tasty. I liked their salad, their Arancini weren't my thing but they were still high quality. The servers have been super friendly every time. The inside is massive and has a lot of diverse seating areas. Super great place overall.

This might be the best pizza we've ever had. The pizza is always delicious and cooked to perfection.

We stopped in just before 6:00 and we're greeted by a friendly woman getting the restaurant ready for opening. We later came to find out she was an owner. She was so sweet and offered to seat us before the servers actually showed up, as they had worked a local event that day. The waitress soon came and our wonderful experience began. They have a great wine list and wine cocktails. We ordered three dishes and were pleased with the presentation and flavors. Pica-Pau - a traditional Portuguese dish with beef and spices in a delicious broth. It's served with bread for soaking up the broth. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the broth. Crostini di Mare - shrimp on crostini's with a tangy garlicky sauce on top. This was my favorite and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Sea Legs - octopus over a sweet potato mash. This was tasty as well and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash is divine!! We also had a Caprese salad, pretty average, but nice presentation. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and so nice to people watch on the main drag. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go back next time we visit. The service is excellent, portions in line with tapas and atmosphere is great.

The restaurant was not very busy and it took almost 20 mins just to be seated at our table. We then took our place at the table and we waited another 10-15 mins for someone to wait on us. We kindly flagged the young male server there and asked him if he could get our server to assist us. The young female server finally came out to assist us - she was not very welcoming but proceeded to take our drink order. It took almost 15 minutes to get our mimosas and water. She did not greet us, inquiry if it was our first time there or gave us suggestions on the menu. She then proceeded to take our order which took a while to get our food. The plus - everyone enjoyed our meals from the way they were prepared to the ingredients. No one ever came to our table and gave us any water nor did they ask for a refill on our drinks. During this time I peeked around the corner and saw staff just sitting in the back talking to one another. I tried to keep the experience positive for my group of friends but they were also growing concerned about the lack of hospitality. The lunch schedule was only until 2 pm but because of Rainbird's delay in seating us, taking our drink orders as well as the slight delay we felt we were now being rushed to finish our lunch, I also wanted to celebrate our friend's birthday and I brought a cake - the server proceeded to tell me it would be a $5 charge per person if I cut the cake there. She did offer to bring a complimentary dessert for our guest of honor. In my opinion, due to the service we were not receiving the cake fee should have been at least discounted or offset due to the lackluster enthusiasm and service. As we were trying to finish our lunch and take pictures at this beautiful establishment we could see the "side eyes" of staff rushing to get us out the door. I am a firm believer of supporting small businesses in Merced since I was born and raised there and let's face it - Merced has very limited fine dining and we wanted to do something nice for us. In order for small businesses to thrive in this town they need our consumerism to stay in business. As I read from all the exemplary reviews on this platform we unfortunately had a very bad experience with this lovely establishment. A group of us came from Madera so that we could meet our gals from Merced as a middle location. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the service as well as the treatment we received from Rainbird. Next year we will choose another location for our next gathering. Please do better Rainbird.

Our server was top notch and very well versed on the menu. They have a full bar and extensive menu. We started with the poke appetizer, which was amazingly flavorful. I was not expecting the ample amount and excellent quality of this dish. It's a must-try if you like raw fish. We also tried the bacon wrapped dates, which were awesome. The cashew nut inside is a pleasant addition. I ordered the 510 Penne for lunch and my son had the tortellini. Both were excellent. The chicken was very tender. It was a lot of food and we took some leftovers. They have a unique payment system whereby you can scan a barcode on the bill to pay your bill automatically. This was a nice touch and came in handy to pay quickly because rain was rolling in. Overall I highly enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to my next visit. They have limited hours so make sure you plan for it, and they also host events throughout the week which means live music isn't always available. The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!
