I've been wearing contacts & glasses for over a decade and this was the worst experience I've had at an optometrist. The lady didn't complete my exam (dilation part) because she said I should've scheduled my appointment earlier in the day. I told her I wanted my eyes dilated when scheduling the appointment... She knew I was coming in for an exam so I'm not sure why she scheduled it that late if she couldn't complete the full exam. To go further in depth, the staff also was rude. They obviously wanted to rush me out since it was closing time and it just felt really rude and unprofessional. PLEASE, read the one star reviews. I felt very comfortable coming her as a first time patient. The ladies keep the front door locked to control traffic, and also advise some people that are picking up orders to wait in their cars until they are ready. Definitely keeps the place clean, by sanitizing everything and providing hand sanitizer. The girls at the front were amazing. Super friendly, got you checked in quickly and prepared for the doctor. I was preparing for a lasik consultation. The doctor was very informative and provided me with a surgeon recommendation. They even dilated my eyes, to take photos of my eyes, to assist in surgery prep. I was in and out within an hour, which isn't too bad considering there's 1 doctor and I needed to wait 15-20 minutes for my eyes to dialate anyways. They ordered the incorrect prescription for my son, which was not a big deal - mistakes happen & it could have been the contact company's mistake. The problem came when I called to have them fix it and the receptionist, Ashley, told me I had to call the contact company myself to correct the order (aka do their job for them). Thankfully, I had the time to train the staff on how to do their job. Ashley kept getting frustrated with me when I stood my ground and requested that they correct their mistake - she kept hanging up on me! Thankfully, after MULTIPLE phone calls, I finally convinced her to call the contact company herself. Why should I call the company for contacts you ordered for me & that I paid you to order? BAD SERVICE: I am not one to write bad reviews. However, after my experience with Bella Eye Care, I feel compelled to share my poor experience. They were beyond rude. I mainly interacted with one of the employees, and when asking general questions regarding glasses, was dismissed and treated disrespectfully. Maybe I didn't appear to be one of the "big bucks" customers they are used to seeing. HIDDEN PRICES?: I have had glasses since I was in grade school. Thus, I have visited several optometrists and eye glasses stores, and order new glasses every year. Since I have a high prescription, I pay more to get the high-index glasses. On my insurance, this comes out to $10 (I confirmed with 3 other eye stores!). Bella Eye Care told me I had to pay $40! When I told them several other stores said it was $10, they said their price included high-index ($10) and digital ($30). If I wasn't informed about my insurance and prices, I would have never known what I was paying for. It is a business's responsibility to communicate exactly what their customers are paying for. read more

The opticians here were awesome, they were extremely resourceful and patient and helped me selecting frames. Definitely some of the best I've worked with. However, the Dr. appointment was rushed, I was booked an hour before closing and Dr Nguyen only got to see me after closing time, and she was impatient only had all of ten minutes to dismiss my various concerns. For example, they had some impressive equipments but I was concerned with the test results (one of my eyes could not see the blue dots) and Dr failed to discuss with me. read more

I came back a few more times because I decided to renew my contacts as well. And as usual, they were all very nice visits. I think I've been here a total of 4 or 5 times within the past 2.5 months. Heh. All of my appointments took 30 minutes or less. Dr. Nguyen is a very efficient optometrist and she gets you through your check-ups quickly as well! Her staff was friendly as usual and greeted me when I came in. I think on my third visit, they remembered my name and/or face. They're also very accommodating to your schedule and are open on Saturdays every so often (and sometimes Sundays even, just check her Facebook page!). I have work Mondays-Fridays, so it's hard for me to make it in at her usual hours but she helps you find a time that works. I also asked Dr. Nguyen on what contact solution I should use and she recommended Clear Care, which worked very well for me! I'm loving the solution and how it bubbles up. It was really cool to watch the first time. She also had a few extra boxes of them so she gave me one to try (the box contained about 12 sample sized bottles!). It had been a long two years since I've seen an optometrist. Well, at least a lazy two years for me. As much as I liked going to my old optometrist, his office was just to far for me to keep going to. So, I was in the market to search for a new optometrist. While browsing Yelp to find a potential optometrist, I ran into a review my friend did and decided to give Bella Eye Care a try. Hidden in the shopping plaza, the office space was easy to find. Though it maybe small, but it's well organized and kept. The office staff was very helpful from start to finish. As for Dr. Nguyen, she's very professional and attentive. I didn't have any cause to worry during my appointment. They use a reminder system here where you get notified of your appointments or when your eye wear is ready. Your contacted either via email or text messaging. I'm glad I came to Bella Eye Care. The transition and adjustment for me was painless. read more

I had high hopes for this place since it is so close to my home. People a nice. However, I have had to send back new glasses twice. The problem was the same both times. Because I have progressive lenses that have distance on top, mid range in the middle with the smallest focal width and then reading at the bottom. Each time the regular distance part of the lens was so small that I have to wear the glasses far down my nose, tuck my chin to be able to see clearly. Each time I went back and asked them to remeasure and cut the lenses again. So they remeasured and sent them back to the lab. At least that's what they said they would do. A week later my glasses are ready. I get them and they are EXACTLY the same. Never going back there again. I gave them 2 chances and they failed both times. Buyers beware. read more

Changed my insurance to Kaiser this year which is convenient but I miss the personably service I get from Judy and the girls in the front office so although no physical exam this year I did go eyewear shopping. My insurance allowed me to get two pairs of eyewear this year so I decided to go with an additional pair of prescription sunglasses along with my regular eyewear. I found sunglasses shopping to be a bit of a challenge as any glass frames can be made into prescription sunglasses but barring that the office ladies let me know that they have a magnetic clip-on sunglasses option which makes the excellent selection of eyewear truly endless. Thanks for carrying a great selection and I can't wait to come pick up my frames. See you next year for an upgrade, hopefully the only thing that stays the same is my prescription. My husband came home from work (after hours) with what he thought was metal shard in his eye. I could only see a speck and immediately called Bella Optometry because you don't go to ER for your eye like you wouldn't go to ER for an emergency with your teeth... I was able to connect with Dr. Judy who immediately FaceTimed me to look at his eye. After, she was able to see the shard through FaceTime and arranged to meet in her office right away. Note: Doc is on maternity leave, at home with a newborn, and lives FAR! This is during Covid period... We met after hours and she was successful in taking the foreign object out of his eye and send over an RX. She even text to offer help if the RX was too pricey at the pharm. Above and beyond if you ask us. This was the second business exchange at Bella Opt. and personally, both huge favors. In March, early Covid, my soccer player kid needed sports frames with a prompt turnaround. This shop made it happen without question. So, todays experience wasn't a fluke. Everything was fine until the receptionist (I believe her name was Ashley) scheduled my appointment wrong three times and had an attitude when I kindly corrected the second time. I have been staying with a friend in the Newark area and needed to see an optometrist ASAP and unfortunately, Bella Eye Care was the closest. I am very disappointed in the way I was taken care of over the phone, but it didn't stop there. I was treated very poorly and did not have a chance to have an eye exam. Waste of time. Not a big fan when they don't make it easy for you to get the prescription you paid for. I went for an annual check up and was given a new eye prescription. Immediately after seeing the doctor, I was fitted for a new pair of glasses. And when I asked for a copy for my prescription, I was told that I had to wait for the doctor to sign off on the prescription to make sure that it's good to go. What?!?! You just fitted me and placed an order for a new pair of glasses with the new prescription that your doctor just gave me. So you used the same prescription to order me a new pair of glasses but it's not ready for me to get a copy? When they wanted me to wait for the doctor to come out and sign off, I asked for my prescription to be emailed to me because I couldn't wait for her. I was told that I would receive it that evening. A couple of nights went by and when I didn't get my prescription, I had to send another email and finally I got my prescription. The story doesn't end there. When asked what my PD (pupil distance) was, I was told that they would share that information for a fee. The PD is not part of the prescription but when ordering glasses, it's a pertinent piece of information because you'll the PD to order your glasses. Given that your PD gets measured to order the glasses, offices normally give it to you as a courtesy especially when you've already paid for the visit and the prescription, but somehow Bella Eye wants to hold onto every bit of information from you to squeeze every bit out of you. Too bad because not only did they not get that fee charge from me, but they have now lost our entire family's business. We've been coming here for a couple of years and we spent thousands of dollars every year for our entire family. Folks, it's against the law to hold the prescriptions against the patient's will. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission enforces the so-called "Eyeglass Rule" which requires eye doctors to provide their patients (stop thinking of us as "customers") "one copy" of the prescription at the end of the eye exam. The facility are pretty good and there are a lot of brand of frame to choose from. The front desk is very nice and willing to help and explain. The downside is that the wait time is long even with appointments. There are 2 doctors at the store, the one eye doctor I saw was very very unpatient! She gets frustrated very easily and show it out in her face. That's something I might not want to experience 2nd time.For example: when one of the eye exam I did is to choose a clearer vision from either 1st or 2nd image. The doctor flip to 1st one asked 1, then flip to the 2nd one said 2. So I answered immediately when she flipped and stopped at 2 saying this one is better. She just raised her voice and saying No! I'm asking 1 or 2? That really scares me out, instead she could have put it in a much nicer way, something as such as do you mean 2 is better than 1? Can you answer me in number instead? I just don't understand why this can be something irritate her that much.. read more
