They ordered me the wrong prescription contact lenses. The power was wrong. They replaced them in a color I don't normally wear but was trying. The color was awful and they do not do returns on unopened lenses. I am stuck with this after the delay in getting them filled to start with. They don't communicate well and do not offer samples if you don't get the exam with them. When ordering I asked for a visual chart to show the color options. They have none. You have to order off names alone or look it up online yourself. I heard sorry a thousand times in this process but the final point is as the same. SOL too bad. I have since gone to an online provider that walks you through options and a good match with an exchange policy for unopened lenses. And I can actually see what i'm ordering. I thought buying contacts from the same place I buy dish soap and feminine products from was a good idea- wrong. read more

Rudest people ever. Nowhere on their initial text or email states that I need to fill out the form first thing in the morning. Text said by noon the following day. They kept calling, texting, emailing, leaving voice msgs all morning saying they need it done NOW. Im the one paying money and i dont work on your time, if its cancelled or posponed so be it. Older receptionist lady or whoever it was calling was very rude and demanding as well. Called like the 3rd time same morning as i was filling out the form, stopped to answer and tell her, "im filling it out as we speak", and she hung up without saying a word. One of the worst experiences I've had since the pandemic and post. Crazy to think people can be horrible at customer service after so many jobs were lost. The review privy: Prior reviews of this business are great and that's awesome; in my case it's about returning glasses my family decided to decline after they were a gift (we never even picked em' up) Review: H O R R I B L E process, customer service, convenience to the customer honestly they need training ASAP and understand how to process a simple return, maybe they don't know how to do? or change the commission bonus structure? Purchased around $1,400 in services and goods from this optometrist and I'm in and out of state for work. Called in 4 times in separate occasions to try to return glasses we never picked up and they in their possession the entire time (again my family decided to change their minds after the fact -- post check up and purchase of glasses they wanted -- Raybans) 1st call - "my manager isn't here to do the return I can't do it" 2nd call - "hi I'm the manager and we're pretty busy can you call back on a slow day?" 3rd call - waited and no one picked up (after put on hold) 4th call - you need the receipt I can't do it without the receipt. I stated I have my card number, the order number, but I don't have the receipt (within the 90 day grace period and again I NEVER PICKED UP THE GLASSES!!! They literally had this entire time) Flew in from out of state to handle this issue. Calling in was constant failures as she was avoiding every which way to return the glasses. I walked into the business and luckily they weren't jam packed busy with people lining up all across the store to help little ol' me return my glasses. So glad she can pencil me in with the usual storm of customers she handles everyday. I got there and mentioned I am from out of state and I would like to receive a refund for my glasses and she literally repeated everything she mentioned over the phone and said it's going to be hard and she may not have a copy or a possible way to return them. At this point I'm very frustrated and she clearly doesn't understand that I flew in to take care of this and was very combative from the start on why would I ever return glasses and "how "dare I" type of attitude. After her explaining to me for about 8 minutes that the only way to return glasses I never picked up, they literally had in their possession the whole time, and if she doesn't have the receipt she wouldn't know how to return it (mind you she's the "manager") and I would just be out of luck and I would have to awkwardly take the glasses that I couldn't return, and have never picked up, to show my proof of purchase for a return? If you're confused about that last sentence imagine me standing there, looking at her, with her looking at me like "well? what do you want me to do?" Moral of the story here - I literally did everything in person where I could've done 2.5 months ago over the phone. Worst optical I've ever seen. Inspite of an appointment, the doctor won't see you. When I showed up at my appointment time, they said they have another patient at the same time and told me to come back another day. When you call for an appointment, they say you have to be on time, doctor is very strict but when you show up at your appointment, they don't see you. I definitely will not be coming back here. I've gone to other Target Opticals, and this is by far the worse one I've ever been to. First off they charged me for my exam when after inquiring with my insurance company after the appointment, my insurance covers it since they are in network. I have two eye insurances. Insurance A doesn't cover contact lenses supply, Insurance B does. They looked at my Insurance B card like it was counterfeit and couldn't find it as one they accept in the system when it shows in my insurance portal before I left my house that they indeed do. I triple checked. Since they couldn't find Insurance B, and my insurance A doesn't cover contacts only 40% off glasses they then tried to get me to pay the hundreds of dollars retail for my contact lenses yearly supply out of pocket and get glasses. I wear my contacts all the time, and received a coupon in the mail so J considered paying out of pocket. But apparently the coupon wasn't usable for what I needed to buy. Sorry, but i wasn't born last night and I do not have STUPID tattooed across my forehead. I have 2 forms of insurance and if you claim you don't accept it but your business is listed on both of my Insurance portals that you do, then 1) you need to be removed as a place that accepts it and 2) you're not the only optical place in the Bayarea where I can get contacts and glasses. How dare you try to get me to pay retail. Christine Yang has a few other optical places in the Bayarea that that have her name on them, I definitely won't be paying any of them a visit. read more

Review is for the vision exam at Target Optical: I needed an urgent vision exam since I failed the DMV vision test and they required a vision exam to be performed by an optometrist. Luckily the DMV in Fremont is very close to Target Optical and I went there immediately. I was able to get an appointment from just walking-in an hour after which was really great! Check the hours because I remember it says no vision exams on Tuesday and Wednesday. I was seen by Dr. Evelyn Nguyen and she was amazing. She made me feel at ease during the whole vision exam and was able to narrow down exactly what I needed for my glasses. She was also very thorough to make sure my form was filled out completely for the DMV and answered many questions I had since this would be the first time I needed glasses. Thank you for being a great Dr. and answering all my questions. I didn't get to buy the frames at Target since I had to rush back to the DMV but for how small the store is, it had a nice selection and the two front attendants were super nice. This review is for the overall experience on June 20th. Let's start with the incredibly rude and unfriendly receptionist. She was incredibly annoyed and truly hating her job. No help whatsoever when my daughter asked her questions about the forms she was filling out. RUDE!!!!! Dr. Yang was very nice, polite and kind. However, when they give you the perscription for lenses and contacts they write it on a tiny card, it was impossible for me to make an on-line order on 1-800 contacts because I could not understand the information. Very unprofessional. I finally just had them contact the store. Please do yourself a favor, go somewhere where they appreciate your busines. We were Lens Crafters clients and this experience will send me back to them. No surprise though, it is Target afterall, what were we thinking. read more

I think eyewear is way too expenses in US but the Target Optical offers reasonable price and quick service for my needs. It was my second visit for my children's eyewear and it still was very pleasant experience with the same staff member named Marites. She always explains the current promotion and only suggest based on my preferences. No appointment was necessary since I had the prescription. I also got additional 5% for having the Target Redcard which makes me feel much better in savings than going to the private eyewear shops. Definitely recommend to anyone. read more

I called around to find the cheapest location for an out of pocket eye exam. Target wound up being the cheapest, surprisingly even cheaper than Costco. Dr. Christine Yang is very friendly and personable. She shared a lot of knowledge about the different procedures she was doing during my eye exam and explained everything she was doing. Although I've had eye exams before, I've never had anybody explain why they did certain things. I learned a lot during my eye exam with her. My eye exam for glasses/contacts cost $95 (due to astigmatism; I believe it's $60 otherwise). I came back a week later and purchased a 6 month supply of contacts, glasses, and a warranty for the glasses all for a total of $350. If you pay with a REDCard, you can get 5% back on your purchases (but not on your exam). The only negative was after my first appointment when I was given a week trial of contacts, I realized I wasn't even given a contact lens case for them so I had to buy one. My previous optometrist always gave a cheap lens case to put my trial contacts in. It's possible she may have just forgotten. Otherwise, a great experience dealing with Target Optical and Dr. Christine Yang. I definitely recommend. read more

Please save your time from going here. This review is on the workmanship of the frames and lenses. I purchased ray ban frames and lenses from target optical and I have to get them switched out 3 times! Every time I got new lenses and frames, there were scratches on the lenses or the lens would be popping out and not fitted into the frames or the frames would be broken. I tried to return the glasses because I didn't want to deal with target optical anymore and the worker told me I've "wasted all of their money" and I couldn't return them! In the end, I came back another time and the manager was able to return my glasses because it was within their 90 day time return guarantee. I do not recommend that anyone going here to purchase lenses or frames because the quality of the eyeglasses are not good. The workers inside target optical are all rude and all say different things that contradict each other. Please save your time and do not go to target optical. I suggest going to Lens Crafters or Costco Optical instead. read more
