This was my first visit to this optometry and I had a fantastic experience overall. The staff was extremely helpful in explaining my insurance coverage and walking me through all available options. Dr. Tung is an outstanding doctor--highly knowledgeable and dedicated. She took extra time to ensure I fully understood my condition and the possible treatment options. She also examined our 8-year-old daughter and was wonderful with her. Our daughter genuinely enjoyed her eye appointment! The only downside was the limited selection of eyeglass frames. This is a big nice location. We use to go to another eye place but their service got so bad we decided to try somewhere new. Came across this place on Yelp and decided to come get my son's eyes checked for glasses. The doctor was patient and thorough with the exam. The front desk was friendly and efficient. I think this was my most favorite visit to any Optometrist. Dr. Tung and the medical assistants/staff were so welcoming and I felt like I learned a lot at the end of my appointment about eye health! I was able to get the scan that had no downtime instead of getting my eyes dilated and I had so many questions! My dad took me here growing up and I've always had a good experience. I tried a different Optometry last year and I regretted it. Yesterday, I decided to go back to Eye Health Optometry to get contact lenses for the first time. The assistants and Dr. Tung were the best cheerleaders as they helped me practice putting on and removing my contacts. They were so patient and gave me different techniques. I'm glad they had the training session because it made me more comfortable to do it by myself when I got home. Before you commit to packs of contacts, they give you 3 pairs as a free trial and they'll call you back in a few days to check if you want to push through with packs. My insurance would cover the first 30 pairs of contacts. A lot of free parking outside too. read more

I have been going to Dr. Halstrom's office for years (too many to count). When he was retiring, there were tears, and he assured me Dr. Tung would be great and I would not miss him. This place used to be great when it was Wayne Halstrom. Since then the service is very slow. They will call to confirm your appointment an hour before but won't tell you they are running late. Even when you check in they won't mention it but they are cool with you sitting in the lobby. So if your looking for a place to waste your time go for it. read more

So I hate to do this.... honestly because this is the ONLY place i have found especially in this area that is in network with my insurance and that seems to offer the larger glasses frames I need for my big head... But, A LOT HAS CHANGED SINCE MY LAST REVIEW BACK IN 2018....AND SADLY NOT FOR THE BEST, BUT RATHER FOR THE WORST. So in 2018 I think the ownership or management had already shifted. I originally was going here seeing Dr. Halstrom, and back then, but business ran smoothly, people would answer the phones and answer questions etc...they'd be easily available and accessible for service questions scheduling appts, etc... NOW???? and really since2018, though I know my last review didn't reflect that.. And if i recall correctly, I only left that reveiw at their request, for some perk, like a discount or something... but i remember even then it was a nightmare just to get a hold of someone.. I think i ultimatley had to go and walk in just to reach someone. They were saying to "text"...and that worked sporadically even then. Today? I've been calling since last weekend...left a voicemail... to this day 4 days later, still ZERO response. Yesterday I remembered about the text and thought let me try that... as of today, still no response to my text. So i finally sent a text, kind of calling this problem out, because really it's not acceptable, like not at all...It's poor business practice for a place that HAS THE STAFF (because when in office the staff is there, so why they can't just answer the phone makes zero sense). Now i haven't been back since 2018, in great part because of the terrible burden of trying to contact them for anything...and then the last pair of glasses i ordered from them came like 2 months later, or at least that's when they were ready for pick up, or so I was told after TRYING to follow up, which imagine that nightmare given the contact issues I'm focusing on here. I will say that back then and always, the staff was very friendly, so I want to be clear about that...everyone is nice, but SOMETHING is VERY wrong...the staff isn't being held accountable for answering calls, responding to voicemails or monitoring their text messaging system. So for this, I'm forced now to look elsewhere for these kinds of services, which is not something i'm looking forward to doing. My time means too much to me to have to put SO MUCH EFFORT INTO TRYING TO ULTIMATELY GET THEM TO TAKE MY MONEY, which is what it all boils down to when said and done. read more

It's been over two years since I've had my last eye examination. Being that I was new to Eye Health Optometry, from the time of my arrival I was greeted and welcomed by Miyoko. During the preliminary exam, she explained everything she was doing, which helped me feel at ease. Dr. Tung was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and thorough during my exam, explaining the process, showing me pictures from the retinal exam and explained what they look for, which kept me engaged and comfortable throughout the whole procedure. Knowing that I had issues with my facial twitching, she was very good at making sure I had all the information I needed for my after care in helping with my problem. I was looking for an office to establish long-term care for myself and my daughter. We were able to get appointments rather quickly and at a convenient time they worked for my work schedule. We were greeted by 2 lady's at the front desk, filled out the NP paperwork and were taken back for some exams. They were kind enough to let us both be in the room together. we met with Dr.Tung who explained everything thoroughly and answered any questions we had. She also used visuals so we had a better understanding of the diagnosis which I greatly appreciated! After our RX was given we were able to browse the selection of frames & get our order in. It's been more than a minute since I went to see my optometrist, Dr. Halstrom. When I set my appointment to get a checkup, I learned he had retired, the office relocated...life moved on so to speak. When I arrived for my appointment, all was pleasant and routine for me. I've been wearing lenses for 54 years so I knew drill, and all was as I remembered it. Here's the good part. Recently I told her I wanted to try contacts again (just for when I play sports), despite it causing my eyes to dry and feel uncomfortable. She said the discomfort and dryness may be due to the wrong size since I had PRK laser surgery. She let me try a pair with a different size - it felt much better, and my eyes did not feel as dry. I very rarely write reviews, but this one is worth mentioning, because your eyesight is extremely important. I've been wearing eyeglasses since I was 8 years old (I'm now 71), so believe me, I've been to "a lot" of optometry offices. The staff is very thorough in doing the various tests of your eyes (i.e., cataracts, glaucoma, eye pressure, etc.) before you see the Dr. for your eye exam to test your eyesight. The office has the most up-to-date technically advanced machinery compared to some of the other optometry offices I've visited, and Dr. Tung is very good and thorough when giving the eye exam. She answers any and all questions you may have, and she explains it in layman's terms so that you understand. She also is very knowledgeable about referring you to the top ophthalmologists in the area if you need eye surgery (for cataract, glaucoma, as an example). The only "minor" drawback is they could expand their inventory of "frameless" eyeglasses and a few other types of frames. Otherwise, this is an excellent place to go. Don't waste your time going to Costco, Target, or Walmart for eyeglasses or an eye exam. They will be cheaper, but you will "not" be happy with the results; (unless you're getting non-prescription sunglasses); you get what you pay for. They all need to get more experienced and in some cases professional optometrists, and kinder, more pleasant staff to run the front desk that knows the business. read more

When Dr. Halstrom semi-retired, he told me he let me know that Dr. Tung was an excellent doctor and I'd be in good hands. Little did I know how much I'd need her. I realized one afternoon that I had a floater in my eye. I work in Medicine and knew this could cause a retinal tear and I had a short period (72hrs) to get the retinal repaired, if it was torn. I happened to have an appt already scheduled the next day with Dr. Tung, so I decided to wait to see what she could see prior to spending hours in an ER. With the state of art imaging in Dr. Tung and Halstrom's office, she was able to clearly see the floater(s) and the edges of my retina, which was not at risk of being damaged. The images were clear. I shared them with a few doctors I work with and they agreed I didn't need to go to ER unless things changed. The time Dr. Tung took to explain what was happening, how long I'd have to watch for changes in my eye, why I could see some floaters, while others I couldn't, and much more. She earned my utmost trust that day and it continues to today. Yesterday I received some possibly challenging news from Dr, Tung regarding one eye. She didn't sugar coat it, however she also didn't dwell on it. Her matter of fact way of handling this type of news earned my respect 10 fold, again. The staff are friendly, the office is sparkling clean, there is a wide selection of frames and the turn around is still quick. Even though everyone is facing labor shortages, I've never had a problem getting an appt quickly, with a week. read more
