Croissant, yogurt parfait, Spanish latte
Dana S.

The food and drinks here are top quality as far as coffee shop fare goes. They often have unique seasonal food and drinks. The sandwiches are delicious, filling, and interesting. They're made to order. For baked goods, the scone and plain croissants are good but not especially remarkable, but the desserts are very good and beautifully crafted. Great drinks too, both the coffee/tea and cold beverages. The food prices are notably higher than average for downtown cafes; I think sandwiches are like $16+ if I remember correctly. You get what you pay for but it's still enough that I come here for lunch as an occasional treat rather than a common thing. The baristas are generally friendly. Never too long of a wait for food when factoring in how busy they are. They do get busy and it's often loud inside, so I would not recommend coming here for long periods to do work, it's more of an coffee and chat place.

Located very centrally in downtown Vancouver, Bel Cafe is a 4min walk from Vancouver City Centre. It is a very cozy crazy in the hustle bustle of downtown. I went there on a weekday to get some work done and try their new vegan egg nog. I was pretty impressed by their vegan egg nog, or Vegnog as they call it. It was not as dense or thick as egg nog usually is, but the flavour was pretty similar. Also got their ham and cheese croissant which was pretty nice! It was crusty and cheesy. Their service was pretty fast. The prices were above the usual. I would go again to try some of their seasonal drinks! Would Recommend this spot if you want to pass some time in downtown :)

Matcha latte

We came by for a quick weekday breakfast around 9:30 - the place was generally quite busywhile we were there, but there were usually a few tables free. I had a matcha latte - it was nice, but I found it to be a little bit weak (maybe a bit too much milk?) It was a fairly big cup and price point was good, so I was pretty happy with it overall. I also had the breakfast sandwich, which was very delicious. I liked that it was very light but filling - bacon wasn't very oily or heavy at all, the egg was very well cooked, and the greens were very fresh. All in al it was a rather nice meal; my only gripe was that the food took quite a while, so it might not be the best place if you're in a rush in the morning. Regardless, it was quite yummy and not too expensive - I'd def come back!

Chicken salad croissant

A great spot to grab a coffee or latte or cold drink while shopping or grab lunch while downtown. It's in the Rosewood hotel Georgia and I had a coffee and a chicken salad croissant sandwich. So fresh and delicious and a nice place to hang out and take a break from shopping or when out an about downtown. Near Pacific Centre mall, art gallery, Robson Street and local area venues like the library and QE theatre. David Hawksworth inspired and we all know how amazing his restaurants are!

This little cafe was right around the corner from our hotel so I stopped by on the go for some quick snacks and coffee. Vanilla Latte 4/5 Almond Croissant 3/5 - super sweet imo Butter croissant 5/5 - nice and flaky If you're in the area stop by, but nothing you have to go out of your way to get it.

Excellent chai latte

Nice ambiance but service feels indifferent. We've been here many times. Food is generally quite salty. The chilli and corn bread were so salty I could not eat it. I once asked for hot water to dilute the overly salted chicken noodle soup. Decent latte and pastries.

This is really cool. Read this.

Bel Cafe is fine. I like to try new places when I am out and about. No Starbucks or McDonalds. Venture out. Bel Cafe was fine. It isn't memorable. It isn't magical. But it's not miserable. I ordered my staple white Chocolate mocha with Carmel sauce. It didn't really warm my heart. But it's fine. It's just coffee and I supported a local establishment. With that said, Revolver is still my go to. Truthfully, I will try Zaatar with Zeit next time.

elegant interior

bel cafe is located at the rosewood hotel georgia. the interior is cozy and makes for a great meet up with friends or colleagues. it's an elegant cafe that serves coffee, pastries, soups, salads and sandwiches. they also sell coffee beans, chocolate peanut butter spread, $6 sarcasm cards, and is licensed to serve alcoholic beverages. i managed to get the last two pain au chocolate to go and was disappointed that it was not flakey, crispy nor buttery. the croissants did not taste freshly baked and reminded me of the mini chocolatines at costco. this may have been a go to for fresh baked goods in the past, but with the proliferation of patisseries in downtown vancouver, i would go elsewhere.

Very nice service, seems to manage the busy pace well. Food was good. The vanilla bean was adorable and so so delicious! The hot chocolate fest set was not good at all though. The macaron was dry and hard and the hot chocolate was sour. The whipped cream on top was the only decent part. Couldn't finish it after a few sips because it tasted so terrible. :(

Latte with a swan!

A cute cafe with a range of sweet and savoury food and snack options. The coffee drinks are quite good and it is located centrally in downtown next to a lot of shopping. It is a nice place to recharge before hitting up the shops!

Had the turkey pastrami melt for lunch. Tasty sandwich, nice ingredients. Good and efficient service. I'd come back for sure.

Food is pretty great. Ambiance is nice but a little packed. It's a cafe so I don't know if service is really an issue.

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
