    Double Standard burger and fries

I really wanted to love this place. Fun open space with a friendly and exciting vibe. The 42 different kinds of beer to choose from was impressive but also, a tad overwhelming. Calamari with pretty good, however, the burger unfortunately had no taste and the pork belly sliders were burnt. The fries, excellent. When I asked the server about the sliders, she said they were supposed to be charred. The kids friend chicken was way too spicy for the average kid. He ate one bite and drank all the water lol. The wings and Caesar salad looked good (might try them next time)... This would be a great place to go watch a game and drink beer, hence the name!

As an update to this experience, when I got my credit card bill, I found that I had been charged double for the tip. What a ripoff!

I've been here a couple times by now…read more One of my gf's friends discovered this place (that was the first time). More recently, one of MY closest friends held his wedding reception just down the road (at Casa Deluz Banquet Hall) and instead of a dance floor at the end of the night, he booked one of the party rooms here for the afterparty. From the outside, this plaza looks like your typical, sketchy scarborough plaza but the first time I walked into this place I was blown away at how nice the interior was. The lighting is extremely cool and the decor is very fancy. Service is prompt and friendly. If you need a battery change for your mic(s) or ring the service bell, you get a person almost instantly in your room. The washroom is clean enough haha. I've been to some KTV places with REALLY dank washrooms. This one is clean and smells relatively fresh. Also, someone in another review mentioned that there was a lingering cigarette smell. I've been here a bunch of times and there's almost no cigarette smell. Visitors are pretty polite here. Most ppl that want to smoke, I see them go outside and having a smoke outside before coming back into the lounge. I will say, they do use a popular touch screen system for choosing songs. I would totally bump this review up to a 5 star rating if they kept the song list updated (Bar+ on Yonge St downtown has the most constantly updated song list I've ever experienced). There were a couple new songs that I tried to find but to no avail. I think this is the best karaoke place uptown in the GTA at the moment if I'm being honest! They are very honest w/ their minimum room charge pricing and they also have a killer happy hour special deal throughout the week if you're not booking a room on a weekend. It will continue to be my go-to place for karaoke as long as they don't increase prices.

Beertown occupies a commanding footprint in Toronto's Financial District -- a sprawling,…read moreenergetically lit gastropub that announces itself with a theatre of gleaming taps and an open, convivial floor plan designed unapologetically for the after-work crowd. It is, in many respects, exactly what it intends to be: a loud, generous, unpretentious haven for those emerging from Bay Street offices or rallying before a Scotiabank Arena event. The beer programme is the undisputed centerpiece. The selection is vast and thoughtfully curated, spanning local GTA craft offerings alongside storied European imports such as Erdinger and La Trappe. Flights arrive on paddles with coasters identifying each pour -- a charming detail that rewards the curious drinker. One could spend an entire evening simply navigating the rotating taps, and many regulars do precisely that. The kitchen delivers pub fare that, while familiar in concept. Service is warm and attentive on its best evenings, with staff who clearly understand the rhythm of a busy house. However, during peak hours the pace can stretch thin, and a lapse in table attention can surface. The noise level is considerable -- an unavoidable consequence of the venue's scale and popularity. Those seeking quiet conversation will find it a challenge; those seeking energy and the communal hum of a city unwinding will feel entirely at home. For the corporate denizen of the Financial District, or the sports fan looking for a spirited pre-game gathering point, Beertown is a reliable and genuinely enjoyable destination. The beer alone is worth the visit.

We walked into an almost empty…read morerestaurant and were told they needed to make sure they had room for us (we were a party of 8). Thankfully somehow they did and we sat down to order. I'm not sure if it was our server's break but a couple of other servers came to check on us but couldn't (wouldn't?) take our order until our actual server arrived a while later, which was maybe 20 minutes or so. Not deterred, as we were hungry and thirsty - we ordered the giant beer paddles for our table to share and also a few apps. The beer arrived warm quite a while later and also only had the breweries names on the coasters, not the actual name of the beer so we guessed on a few. The apps were not memorable and were only warmish - so was not blown away. Too bad as the location nearer to me in Oakville was much better in terms of food and service. Even though my office is steps away, I wouldn't rush back.

Wife did not like the 'time and place' revel cider. It's not very apple forward, but I thought it was okay. Well, times have changed and now we have Burdock Brewery in the building with a massive operation brewing suds. This is definitely something to check out when visiting Kensington Market. The loft design is very impressive along with the scale which is huge. Their bottle shop is a wraparound wall of coolers with an extensive collection of beers including several different types of IPAs, my fave! I tried the session IPA which means it is lower in alcohol, usually below 5% allowing the drinker to have a session of several beers instead of one knocking you off your game, like the stronger versions. These beers can be found in bars around the area, including my favourite bar, Handlebar basically across the street from the brewery. With the demise of Kensington Brewery, and the building up for sale, thank goodness we have a quality brewery serving a thirsty crowd here downtown and Amen to that! Highly recommended when in the area with friendly service and plenty of brews to sample, where you can buy one and drink it in the park across the street which will give you the consummate market experience and vibe : )

The second floor has the board games and cafe. The third floor is the Mahjong. We played many different board games. There are 2 big cabinets of board games. There should be more. We ordered the following food: 1. Hanamikoji Mocktail ($9.99). 2. Treasure of Sumatra Mocktail ($8.99). 3. Teddy Bear Milk Tea ($6.99). 4. Flat White (small $4.99). 5. Potato Wedges ($6.99). 6. Chicken Tenders ($9.99). 7. 17 Tiles Dusted Wings ($14.99) with Chipotle Mango sauce. The mocktails were pretty and tasty. The Teedy Bear is made of ice. All the food was good, except the batter on the Chicken Tenders was too thick; the chicken was tender. The service was good. For 3 people, our games and food totaled $86.93. I toured the Mahjong rooms on the third floor out of curiosity. The setup was good. To play unlimited board games, it costs $3/p. To play in private Mahjong rooms, it costs $20/h/p. For VIP Mahjong rooms (including drinks), it costs $30/h/p. For wheelchair accessibility, you must enter an elevator at the back of the building. There is free WiFi. The place is wheelchair accessible. On each floor, there are separate male/female washrooms and one gender-neutral washroom that is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking.
