Ok, yelp won't stop suggesting I write this review. A most definite local favorite, I've paused at writing one because I don't trust myself to do so objectively. I'm in here most every week, and sometimes twice--whether it's dinner during the week, or breakfast on the weekend. The friendly service from everyone in there never fails to make me smile and feel appreciated--and I see them do that with everyone who comes in. The food hits the spot every time, and the menu is nicely varied. We came to Beekman diner as a family of four for breakfast. All of us ordered pancakes and my husband also got sausage, eggs and toast with a glass of orange juice. Two coffees, two lemonades. When the bill came I almost choked. $95! Also, the bill wasn't itemized, it was just a total of $95. We were in a bit of a rush, otherwise I would ask for an itemized bill and see why it was so expensive. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious but they do not cost $100. Sorry, but not sorry. Pretty good food for a diner. Stopped in for a quick bite. We ordered a burger with and a buffalo chicken wrap. Wraps come with chips which is pretty lame. You have to pay $2.50 for substitution fries. That's pretty crappy since most places give you fries with a sandwich. Both were good. The coleslaw was delicious and the portion is what every diner should give you. The service was good too. Not to be cheap but, Soda costs almost $4 a glass and Club Soda (I.e. carbonated water) was almost $3 which is kind of pricey. Other places charge 1.00 for a seltzer. Pretty good food and usually excellent service. We've been here a few times. The service is usually great-attentive, friendly, efficient- with the exception of once when our waitress was just checked out, clearly didn't want to be there. That was the one and only time we've ever experienced bad service here. The menu is vast and eclectic. We've tried a lot of different things such as the pot roast, chicken pot pie, burgers, French toast, summer salad, and mac'n cheese. The apps are so good!! Just what it needed to be . I really enjoyed my Buffalo chicken wrap . It was delicious and so were the fries that I got with it. Kids loved their egg and cheese. The Beekman Square Diner is a good overall fan favorite of the area. The food is good hot and consistent. Inside service is good and it looks like diner! Nothing else to really say. Only standoff-ish complaint is it's pretty pricey for what you get. But when there's nothing else around with out a 15-20 minute drive is what it is. I frequent maybe 2 times a month. read more

I love going to Beekman diner not only because it's literally two minutes away from my house, but it's the only diner that I really love. I like it better than the other diner on Route 22. I always order the chicken noodle soup, the French onion and normally go for a Greek Gyro or a Pastrami, Rubin or a corn beef Ruben both are delicious services impeccable. read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre at best for the inflated prices considering it's just a diner! Food is never consistent because the cooks are always changing along with the wait staff. The worst is ordering French toast and it tasting like onions and peppers from whatever was cooked on the grill beforehand. If the hostess/"owner", Shannon, would pay attention when she did show up instead of flirting with married men, then maybe proper training would help this place. been living in poughquag my whole life and this place used to be great 15 years ago. food is acceptable but nothing amazing. the thing that really turns me completely off about this place is the staff has an attitude problem. i cant speak on everyone that works there but seems like whenever ive gone in the past 2 months theres a guy up front with a bad attitude and a waitress whos horrible. its like they think they're to good to work there but there they are. wont go back again. read more

Had lunch at the Barkman Square Diner. The best hamburger I've had in a long time. The fries were fresh cut and the cole slaw was perfect. Esther had fish and chips which were equally amazing. Jodi was our server and she was extra special. She went out of her way to make us laugh and take care of us. We'll definitely be heading back on the next trip to Beekman. read more

I was expecting more of a diner-type atmosphere, but it really is just a regular restaurant. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but went with a bowl of French Onion soup and a chili burger. Weird combo I know. The soup was good, but not quite hot enough. The burger was ok. Not much in the way of chili on it. Maybe like a tablespoon worth. The fries were good and crispy but didn't taste like they had been salted. I should have gone with a salad, as two members of my party each ordered a different one and they were huge and looked so very good. Service was great. Server was friendly and funny. We go here every week for breakfast and occasionally for dinner. Has been amazing each time we have went. We were always seated immediately and taken care of within a few minutes. Food comes out fresh and delicious. Place is comfortable and clean. Staff has always been amazing. Absolutely sickened over my experience here today. Our waitress was very harsh and flat out rude. I really am speechless over it. Not only that but the food was absolutely horrible. It was clear that it had been sitting out for a while before being served to us. We were not asked if we wanted refills on drinks, we had to ask twice for silverware. I received dirty look from the waitress and the bus boys. I'm just appalled. I felt extremely uncomfortable during my entire visit. It was my first time there and my last.
