Great food at a great price. On a road trip and looking for a local spot - saw great reviews on Yelp so we gave it a shot - glad we did! We went here for an impromptu group breakfast. There were 14 of us, so we were seated at three different tables next to each other in the cozy dining room. The staff did a pretty good job at handling our large group during our visit and they processed each seat as a separate check too. The food took a while to come out (25-35 minutes after ordering) and the coffee refills came out often (walk by with pot of hot coffee). Also, a fresh vase of flowers was put on our tables, as the older flowers were removed. The coffee was pretty decent ($1.75). I ordered the Farmers Delight Omelet ($5.85) with home fries (not indicated on menu description, but comes with omelet) and toast (raisin-add $0.50). The omelet was served hot and very tasty, a big spread halfmoon shaped, not too thick, filled with onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, & melted cheese). The homefries were a bit chewy, fresh cut potatoes with skins, deep fried brown. The raisin toast was buttered with a slightly thicker soft texture inside. The check total was just under $9 before tip and it's pay at the front register. I will have to stop in here again more often, especially for the roast beef sandwiches and seafood chowder. read more

I just came in from a long 4 hour ride and asked my hotel front desk for a spot to eat. After some small talk she said don't bother with any fast food place go up one exit take the right head up the road about half a mile head to beefside. It would be the best food for my $$. I came walked in lots of posters and light kitsch around the walls. Very homey warm feel. I was promptly greeted by a server who sat me at a booth and I sat surrounded by locals. I love to people watch and listen so it was great to hear all the conversation around me while I yelp. Very warm, friendly waitress who gathered I was "From away" gave me a rundown of history. She helped me narrow down my order to smokehouse sampler( I'm not a roast beef fan, but if you are a must try according to everyone around me lol) and also a small onion rings. Food came out really fast onion rings were steaming hot, then a few minutes later my entree came out. I am a huge BBQ snob but I have no complaints at all. The ribs were tender fall off the bone, brisket was juicy and smoky, pulled pork has some crunch from skin like it was just made. Corn bread was like corn cake and cole slaw was cole slaw. After indulging I still had leftovers and I have to say come to Beefside in Manchester. super friendly, delicious and worth every penny. Great Reuben, sauerkraut and all. Food arrived hot and love their crinkle cut home fries. Thick cut but still crispy on the outside and had warm potatoey insides. Portions are huge here, the regular was gigantic! I think the roast beef here hits that flavorful spiced note really well, and they put a ton of layers in our sandwiches. Super affordable casual dining restaurant. They are known for their roast beef sandwiches. They come in several sizes, with and without toppings (mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese). The largest is the giant and it's only $8 and some change. They come a la carte so if you want a side, they are about $3 and up, including three different types of fries, onion rings, you can even add on a side of clam strips, shrimp, potato, salad, whatever! I had been craving a lobster roll for weeks but didn't want to pay over $20 for one. They have a decent sized one that comes w a choice of fries (or other sides for a surcharge) for only $12! The lobster is mostly claw meat, and while i usually don't like claw meat bc it's almost always overcooked and rubbery, this one was not. It's light on the mayo and celery, and the buttery roll was perfectly toasty and crisp. The fries i got were the battered fries which I love and wish more places made battered fries. Those were an extra 0.50 charge. Portions are very generous for the extremely fair prices. Service was very warm and friendly. Check the specials board for daily specials too! read more

A cozy down-home place that's got a well deserved-reputation for great barbecue and seafood. I was in the mood for some BBQ and was torn between the beef brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich or one of the many roast beef sandwiches. The brisket won out for me and it was delicious- tender, flavorful and generous. To say this was well priced is an understatement. The reason for 4/5 stars is the service-- the blonde haired young woman with piercings taking the orders was exceptionally rude. Not only was she curt with me when I asked about the ingredients of a dish due to a food allergy, she treated me like a moron when I asked for a fountain soda instead of bottled. She then proceeded to berate another customer for asking for a clarification about an order he'd just placed. Wow. Just wow. Delicious food! Their haddock sandwich is so tasty. Fries are great. Mozzarella sticks are next level(and I consider myself a bit of a fanatic). Stopped here for lunch on our way to the NH Pavilion. Server was very attentive and quickly brought our drinks. We ordered the small fried clams for an appetizer, they were cooked well and they were a decent portion for $13. Wife selected the roast beef sandwich and I ordered the brisket bomb and fries. The roast beef was well cooked and tasty. The brisket bomb was hot when arrived and loaded with toppings but unfortunately, was bland and the brisket flavor lost in the mix. It definitely could have used some seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic etc..).The fries were good, not hot, but warm. The offered a BBQ sauce with the bomb but it wasn't anything special. Road tripping and we decided to stop here for dinner. I ordered the meat platter which had ribs, brisket, pulled pork, corn bread, and fries. Wife got the roast beef sandwich and onion rings. The fries and onion rings were the best things we had. Some of the best fries I've had at a restaurant! They were great... but for a place called beefside, I'd have hoped the beef was the star of the show, not the fries. When my wife and I last ate breakfast here, she asked for xtra crispy homefries. I'll be the first to admit she is a fussy eater but when you're paying to be served, a small request is reasonable. My first and only stop in New Hampshire, this was the last meal of my trip before flying back to the West Coast. I had done no research as I wanted to eat a few hours before our flight and not get ripped off at the airport. Since Beefside was off the freeway and close by, we stopped by here in the mid afternoon. First impression was that it seemed like a local place. I saw pictures of people on the walls, local sports teams thanking them for their donations, and other traits that make this place a local cornerstone. I got their signature roast beef since that was their calling card on the menu. They also some BBQ items as well as an extensive selection of baked and deep fried seafood too. You would think that with their name that they probably wouldn't do seafood well...but ratings don't lie and as tempted as I was to also get the lobster roll for $12...I held back and restrained myself. After tax and tip, the amount of the bill was $22. Entrees and seafood was around $15 while the sandwiches usually are around $10-$11. If they had this place in California, then I'd be coming here every day. $12 lobster roll in the SF Bay Area will sell out daily. Overall a great value lunch in a quaint decorated place. If I ever am in the NE section of the country again, I'll be sure to have this place on my radar on my drive route. read more

I had purchased a gift certificate for my elderly parents who frequent this restaurant. Well apparently there are NEW owners and they WOULD NOT honor the gift certificate that I had purchased for my parents. This is NOT right. Look, I'm only willing to go 10-25 min. outside of my route to eat here. I've taken a star off, the bathrooms have cooties in them. The lobster bisque, which I did not know was a dish to take seriously, is too expensive, so minus another star. I did learn here that all the previous lobster bisques were not to be taken seriously, but theirs definitely is. a cup is a meal, and I want to learn how to make it so I can have it more often. also, lose another star for how their sandwich tastes when reheated the next day. Before reheating it was an exceedingly nice rare roast beef, enough for 5 stars or more. But after I reheated it, the beef was not rare anymore, but well done. go figure. They do sell things that they should not. Their onion rings are hopeful but not really all that nice. The onion buttons err nuggets are an extremely good idea, but even when eaten hot you have to have been skiing to like them. The waitresses at least have attitude (if you like them, they are sassy, if you don't, they are rude), but they did get the food organised; it looks like they have a system and it works. I was smart enough to salt the onion nuggets before leaving. They were slightly better when run through an air fryer. Not that I have one in my car. Really, I will only eat here when I'm passing near to Concord (e.g., Pat Speaks, or places north). that is the only time. And if you complain again that it sounds from the review like I don't like Beefside, I'd ask you to read the review again; a little more carefully. I may be mis guided, but you are misguided. Oh wow, what a nice little find! Thank you to the other Yelpers for steering us here! It's small and we thought might be a wait on a Saturday evening but no more than 5 minutes. Gave us a chance to look at all the dog photo collages in the vestibule. Seems the owners and staff are passionate animal people and now customers bring in pics of their pets to display. We will join that club next time we visit. ;) Patio is pet friendly in the warmer months. Can do take out and eat on the patio now, as well as table service around Memorial Day. They also support local rescues. Big hearts! As I said we got seated quickly. Our server, Tina, was awesome! Helpful suggestions and a reminder to me about bison being lean when I asked for my burger to be well done as it would be very dry. Steaks I like almost rare but ground meat I prefer cooked more thoroughly. Went for medium on the burger. It was perfect. Their Angus burgers are fresh but I think the bison patty might have been frozen. Had that prefab look about it. Still tasty. Had a small side salad with a very nice light tasting Zinfandel vinaigrette dressing. Hubby went for the brisket. With their own smoker out back, he had to try it. Happy man. His only grumble was the minuscule portion of yummy coleslaw in a weeny sauce cup. Tina said it's made in house but didn't say anything about serving size. Next time he will order a bigger side of it. We passed on dessert though a lot of people were trying the special of the day, Bananas Foster cheesecake. This spot had great yelp reviews, so off I went! I had intended on getting a lobster roll, but I made a game day decision and got the roast beef, instead because that is what they are known for. It was good, but didn't necessarily "wow" me. The lobster bisque was awesome though. Huge chunks of lobster and creamy soup, that was the real show-stopper here. Mind fucking blow. I have gone by this place probably 2000 times without ever considering going in because i was never really a big fan of roast beef but after eating here once i tried three times to duplicate the roast beef sandwich that i got here, toasted bun with a special mustard that was beyond belief. I can't even pin point what was so amazing about this sandwich but if i lived or worked in the area i would EAT HERE EVERYDAY and i don't really even like roast beef. With all that said i dont think i would get anything but roast beef and i probably would always call in and pick up. There were probably 8 people waiting in the lobby for pick up which was extremely awkward. Someone ordered a burger and was extremely offended when 2-3 people that came in after him got them first. On a driving trip through New Hampshire, we consulted Yelp for lunch suggestions and, minutes later, were pulling in at Beefside. At first glance, this is a nothing-special, if-I-didn't-know-better-I-would-never-be-here place...but I have come to trust my tastebuds to Yelp, and we were not disappointed. One section on Beefside's menu is reserved for their famous roast beef sandwiches. I ordered a not-quite-on-the-menu sandwich...French dip with 6oz of beef and Swiss cheese with a side of onion rings. The sandwich was outstanding! Truly delicious! The roast beef was, no kidding, the best I have ever had on a sandwich. The onion rings were not great - too much breading - but the fabulous clam chowder my man ordered more than made up for the rings' shortcomings. I would definitely recommend Beefside :-) read more

This place is very rude. Since we figured it would be faster to order ahead, we did that over the phone since we had an infant with us and did not want to have to wait an extra twenty minutes when we got there. When I went to pay at the counter, the lady told me we were not allowed to use any of the tables outside since we were not a "dine-in" customer. There were no other customers using any of the tables outside either.. so not sure why we were not allowed to since it wasn't very busy. So we had to take our baby back into the car and eat there instead when we had wanted to take her out to stretch after a long car ride. Amazing food. To be frank I would have never dreamed of stopping had I not read the yelp reviews and I would have missed out terribly. We had the super roast beef sandwich, onion rings, a Reuben sandwich and a slide of coleslaw. I cannot begin to tell you how good this roast beef sandwich is...best I have had. The onion rings are hand battered and fantastic as well. They are not greasy at all and delicious. The atmosphere is very quaint and is quite small but there is a grass area out back with covered seating that is wonderful in a nice day.
