First time trying Beef-A-Roo today. It was okay, not the best, not the worst. We got the veggie burger and Bacon Double Cheeseburger. The veggie burger was pretty dry. Definitely a frozen patty. The bun was good, a nice texture and flavor, and the toppings were good. My partner said the double bacon cheeseburger was solid for the price. The fries were basic, nothing special. I'd like to come back and try the veggie sandwich and see if I would like that more. Would give it another shot. Restaurant was clean and service was good but kind of slow. I made the mistake of ordering burgers and fries from them via DoorDash. They forgot both orders of french fries and the burgers did not have cheese on them nor anything else I wanted. DoorDash gave me a bunch of crap to get my fries refunded. Honestly, I wanted loaded fries, so that's the reason I initially ordered. Dry burgers. Rotten lettuce. No cheese on the burger after I paid extra for it. Paid extra for tomato and lettuce, but the lettuce was pretty rotten. No tomato was added though. I mean the burgers are not worth the price. For a few dollars more I could've had a really good bar burger instead of spending over $10 on a burger that is equivalent to a fast food burger. Also, I'm vegetarian mostly. Once every few months I eat meat. I can taste quality beef and honestly, this does not taste very high quality to me whatsoever. I know it was Saturday at 7 PM and they are busy but come on now - two orders of loaded fries completely forgotten. Now I know why I live a quarter mile from this joint and never go. I can only imagine how horribly they would've cooked the veggie burger I almost got. I wanna say good things about local businesses. I want local businesses to thrive. I don't know if it's just standard teenage kids then don't give a crap anymore or what. I guess I would just never ordering DoorDash and going inside and making sure you actually get your order. When the bag came, it was so tiny and I yelled to the driver that I didn't think my fries were in there, but he took off. Then I texted him and told him that the fries weren't there. He didn't give a crap. So basically I won't be return returning to this place ever again. I will go and stick with my veggie burgers, and if I do decide to eat beef, it will be at a place that actually has adults working there that know how to make a burger. read more

My wife grabbed two roast beef sandwiches and french fries on the way home from work since we had to quickly eat and head out to an appointment. I personally thought the sandwich was delicious and huge! The french fries were really good too. I don't normally post reviews, but I thought the meal was excellent and a good value. My wife said the inside of the restaurant was nice and the staff was very friendly. Based on this meal, we will be eating there again. It helps that they also have a pretty diverse menu. read more

the service was great. very polite but where they fell short was the packaging and flavor of the food. I ordered a roast beef and cheese sandwich. it was like a meat and bread sandwich. very dry and tasteless. very little cheese. the second thing was the container the chili was in. it came in a flimsy plastic bowl with aluminum foil on top of it. easy to spill and the container was not microwaveable. I took this stuff to work and made a mess in the work microwave. the container melted. I tried calling the restaurant but noone answered the phone. this was $15 worth of useless not so good food. in addition no crackers came with the chili. I drive by this place on my way to work I won't be going back. not worth it! Proper packaging is important and that dry sandwich wasn't good! oh and the French fries were not cooked long enough. just a disappointing meal read more

Staff: Friendly. Location: Clean Food: Very good. Bacon Cheeseburger w/ onion rings. Girlfriend had Cheeseburger w/ fries. Cost only slightly more than other fast food restaurants but quality multiple times better. Suggestion; add lemonade to drink selection: Not everybody wants carbonated drinks. Looking forward to trying other things. They use their own brand of seasoning salt (for sake at the store) and use it for a lot of the foods. Fries were seasoned well but I could see some people thinking it is too much. Ask, if possible to back off of the seasoning. Next time we are there we'll buy a bottle to take home. Everything fresh to order, so a slight wait but soooo worth it. read more

I've been through this establishment three times now. Two of the three have been bad. First one order all wrong seem like they didn't care this time. Go through drive-through and wait for almost a minute before anybody responds even after I have said hello multiple times a minute is a long time due to drive-through standards Ask if they had chili I was told no I just got rid of it at 2:10 PM in the afternoon even though the sign says all day every day. There isn't a place three times and two of the three really bad visits. Not sure if this place is gonna last with service like that. read more

Came in on 9/21/2025 with my wife and daughter. 1 person on the floor came and took our order so far so good. After we paid for our food he then went back with the same gloves on to make it , I then kindly asked him to change his gloves since he had touched several items behind the counter. He changed his gloves and was very polite about the situation. By then his manager came out in street clothes and proceeded to help with our order when I noticed he proceeded to put on gloves to make our food and dropped one on the floor in the process and put it back on, I asked him if he could change his gloves and that I had seen what had happened. He immediately denied it and said he changed his gloves when he didn't. I then asked for a refund and left the store. I had been going to Beef A Roo since I was a kid when I lived in Illinois and the food and service was always spectacular. I was very excited to be able to see the Rochester location until now. It's a shame how people now days get a job and ruin a company's reputation. I also find it amusing that when a business asks for a review to get more business, this one in Rochester had a handwritten note on the counter stating to please leave an honest review, lol. Why don't they try better training employees to use better hygiene practices. And most of all use reviews they receive as a learning tool to make it a better place. I will never go back to this location again and could only hope they build more closer to me because honestly the food is great. read more

Burger was good, staff was confused. Large fry is the size of small fry at McDonalds. Cheese curds were good but half were empty shells missing cheese. Shake was good but completely artificial flavor. Summary: if restaurant continues to be incredibly stingy with quantity of fries, just order burger and go across street to McDonald's and order fries. Royal Oak, MI location. We've been wanting to try this place & today was our first time attempting to order. Tried to order by phone, as we were on the road & had no way to make an online order. Phone rang 20 times before anyone answered, and they were curt & unfriendly. Employee refused to take a phone order at 1:30 on Saturday afternoon, unless it was a "large order", which it was not (only 4 items.) Why then is the phone number on your carry out menu?? You need to hire good employees, or you won't be in business very long. I won't try to order again, that's for certain. read more
