After many months, I finally decided to give this company another chance because they are close to me. I made sure only to order dishes with blackened chicken so I could be sure to avoid the raw chicken issue I had before. I had one order that was decent and tried to order again today. To my surprise, immediately after placing the order, I realized that the website had changed the order location from Troy, Michigan to some other address I didn't recognize - and which is apparently in Minnesota . I tried to cancel the order, but their "policy" is that customers are charged for an order once submitted regardless of whether they receive the order - and, apparently, regardless of whether Sweetgreen inexplicably sends the order to some location hundreds of miles away. For context, I have only ever ordered from the Troy location and have never once ordered from a different Sweetgreen location. The reason for this re-routing to Minnesota is apparently a mystery, but it's one I'll have to pay for. In any event, I am done with this company for good. If you are placing an order with them, be warned that they may "fulfill" the order hundreds of miles away, and they will still charge you for it. read more

It was my first time at this chain, and I was very happy with the food. I got a custom made warm bowl, and it was a lot of food. Fresh and healthy. Good amount of options to choose from, including quite a lot of vegan items. Their tofu we very good, nicely seasoned. I had a little bit of an issue with dressing as the girl working there was not sure which were vegan. Thankfully, there was a label on the window, that specified which were. Instead, it was severely over seasoned. There was nothing in the meal description that would have led me to expect this. We loved Sweetgreen so much we came back again but to another location and I think this location was much better! I love the brightness and lightning in the restaurant. It's very welcoming plus I love when a restaurant is bright inside versus loom and doom. Lighting is everything! It seems like the people were more helpful when making the food but also we came around 2:30p (est) and not 45 mins before closing so maybe that's the reason. The lady who helped us was more helpful too; I didn't know I could get my salad tossed so I got my same sweetgreen bowl (create your own bowl) on repeat but added the ranch dressing instead and got it tossed. IT WAS EVERYTHING!!! OMG so dang tastier and delicious than the first bowl I had! We also added the ripple fries-those took 25 mins apparently and luckily we were eating in the restaurant but 25 mins for potatoes!! Nevertheless, we got them and they were just okay; they didn't even give us the sauce to go with them. The bowls here are the main star, the ripple fries-definitely can do without and get fries better and quicker elsewhere. I was looking for something healthy and hearty but also protein packed and sweetgreen checked off all 3. I got the chicken pesto parm (minus the shaved parm). Online ordering was very easy. You can further customize your meal on the app. Chicken was tender and not dry. Veggies tasted very fresh. The sweetgreen hot sauce and pesto vinaigrette worked well together with all the ingredients creating a savory yet slightly spicy flavor profile. Very clean and minimalistic interior. Stopped in today for lunch with a co-worker. I liked the variety of salads and bowls along with the option to create your own. The service was really quick & we were there a little after noon. I ordered the chicken parm pesto salad, which sounds loaded with calories, but it was quite healthy. It was a bed of spinach, chicken, quinoa, grape tomatoes, shaved parm, & sweet green spicy and pesto dressing. I will say the portion of chicken may be on the small side for some people, for me it was fine. I'd definitely return if I was in a hurry and/or wanted something tasty & on the healthy side. There were two ladies working the front and it seemed like it took both of them to cash out a guest, until they called for backup, in which a gentleman came from the back, at which point the younger lady finally greeted us. Neither of these two ladies were operating with a sense of urgency. With every table open for seating, we sat at the table furthest from the door because every table was dirty as well as the floor beneath. I wouldn't normally leave a review of this degree since this is one of our go-to spots, but tonight was ridiculous. Great/Comfortable seating at the Troy location. I have had to sit outside here before due to lack of seating. Service is good! I would pick this location over others because of the parking lot. All the vegetables in my bowl were fresh and combined well with the dressings provided. Let's not forget my choice of quinoa cooked just right. It needed a bit more flavor, thus I added some sriracha was better to get down the chopped kale. Decent portion for the bowl and filling too. The hot honey chicken plate was decent with the warm quinoa, blackened chicken bites and the hot honey sauce, definitely a unique combination. Got the Super Green Goddess with a lot of add-ins. It might be too my fault but some of the ingredients, like the crispy rice, broccoli, and dressing (ranch) did not taste good, or at least did not taste good together. For example, the crispy rice tasted stale/hard to chew/not crunchy but rather hard. Maybe it was this single ingredient that made it a average experience, but I am not sure. All in all, the ingredients were fresh, the quantity was average (considering the amount of add-ins I got which was a lot), the service was quick. Maybe next time I will stick with the salad with no additional add-ins. read more

Happy to see this new sweetgreen location open in Troy. I'm used to the Chicago locations, and this one was pretty similar, just with its own parking lot! If you're not familiar, the sweetgreen brand is known for healthy, organic salads and bowls with locally sourced ingredients. It's a casual set-up where you can order up at the counter or order online and pick up. The prices can be a little much (in my humble opinion) but at least it's high quality. This time around, I opted to try the Autumn Caesar salad, which comes with romaine, kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, shaved parm, sweet potatoes, and caesar dressing (~$12). It was just ok - rounding to 4 stars because this is a new location and they're probably still learning. For example, one of my sweet potatoes was way too big and didn't cook through all the way. I was also hard pressed to find many brussel sprouts. But my order was up quickly and the inside of this location was bright and clean. Whether or not you have a new year's resolution to eat healthier, come check it out for yourself! read more

I was looking for a salad since I was too lazy (well, it was late when I got home and I was tired) to pack my lunch. My yelp search led me to believe Sweet Green would be a good choice, and once again, yelp was right. I ordered the Farmhouse Ceasar. Hopefully next time they'll have the roasted sweet potatoes, today they were unavailable. I added the spicy broccoli and a boiled egg. The spicy broccoli is as described - SPICY! I should have known better because I'm a WHIMP when it comes to spicy food. Spicy-spicy, I love. Spicy-hot, no thank you. I picked off the pieces that were obviously spicy (all the red pepper flakes gave me a clue) and left the others. Besides the spice, the broccoli has some really good flavor and was neither too crunchy nor too raw, it was "just right" (in my Goldilocks voice...lol). Before now, I've only had pickled beets on my salad. Fresh ones add a great flavor and a nice crunch. I'm a fan! They use greenhouse/English cucumbers, and I wish they had left the seeds in, but the salad does look a little fancier with de-seeded cukes :-) The kale is cut into thin strips which makes it much more enjoyable to eat. Upon arrival I learned that because the store was out of salmon they did not begin preparing any of my food. They did not send any notifications in advance of this issue to update me or cancel the order before I wasted my time and gas to go there. The store told me that I needed to cancel the order on the app so I did even though again I received nothing at no fault of my own. They tried to push a giftcard on me but I had had such a bad day already and was about to cry after not eating so I quickly left instead.
