Disgusting and rude. Today marked the FIFTH time we have received a completely raw, uncooked burger. Our onion rings & fries were so greasy, they looked like they were pulled out of water. On top of it, the staff at this location is about as rude as they come. They just walk up and stare at you--my cue to order I guess? Not the cleanest, either, as I watched the COOK drinking & eating at the grill while making food. Used to love this location. It has declined rapidly and to sad depths. Will be avoiding this location in the future. Do better. read more

Couldn't get my disabled mom in. Only one side has a ramp style sidewalk and being in a wheelchair we could not just go around. I asked the staff to do something and they told me there was nothing they can do. Definitely not ADA compliant. read more

Buffalo chicken sandwich was one of those heavily processed, mechanically separated chicken patties that you get at McDonalds for $1. Was hoping for a real piece of chicken. The roast beef sandwich was nothing special. Not terrible but when I peeled the top bun off, just the pile of beef and nothing else, looked unappealing. Chicken tortilla soup actually had some spice, which I liked. But it lacked heartiness, it was more like a broth. I don't see any value here over your average fast food chain, unfortunately. read more

Rockford staple! This particular location just got a makeover and from the north woods to a very modern cozy look to it. They had a wide variety of menu options ranging from their famous roast beef sandwich to the cheddar fries or pork tenderloin. You CANNOT order wrong! Everything is great. They offer amazing seasonal options like the summer berry salad and pumpkin bars in the fall that are so addictive. The cherry Pepsi is absolutely delish!! The chichin tortilla soup is magical and the chicken stripes are like no other. If you are new to the area, or are just visiting, i highly suggest you try it! read more

YUM. Hadn't eaten anything of substance of all day and was just looking for something to stop my stomach from growling when I demanded we find some place for lunch on our way out of town. To my surprise, the BF suggested Beef-A-Roo. (Had hell frozen over?!?!) So, happily, I figured out a route that included one of the many locations scattered around our Midwest town. Only after driving to the Northwoods location, I thought about how it was Labor Day and I how I might be SOL. Thank goodness it was open! I devoured my Jr Beef and fry and only then did I realize, every city in the US should have a BeefaRoo. Seriously. My only gripe would be that I had to eat on the move and it made a cup of cheddar unreasonable. read more

OM GOODNESS!! Don't order a Chicago Style Hot Dog here! Small bun for an oversize hot dog left no room for the pickle slices, onions, tomato and cucumber slices and sport peppers that were spilling out of the bun, let alone ketchup (which is sac religious for Chicago Style). The bun collapsed and fell apart; the peppers and onions fell out. YUK!! What a disaster! Skip the sliced pickles and cucumbers; just give us the dill spears, and celery salt with a larger bun to fit the oversize dog and all the trimmings or a smaller dog and a poppy seed bun, like it's supposed to be if you're going to call it a "Chicago Style Hot Dog!" At about 2:30PM, the wait for our food was about 10 minutes and the restaurant was not that busy; our orders were not that complicated....how long does it take to make a hot dog and a beef sandwich?? At least the Diet Coke and lemonade drinks were good. Luis, the Manager, was apologetic and offered to make a new hot dog or refund. I told him I wanted neither and that he should regard my complaint as reason to fix the hot dog problem. Overall, to say that the experience was disappointing is an understatement! read more

Beef-A-Roo is a great local Rockford chain, and this location in particular is no exception. They offer a lot of healthy options, the food comes out in a timely fashion, and the atmosphere is nice for a fast food type place. I like that the calories for each item are easily found, and not only do they have many healthy options, they are good options (taste good). The staff are always friendly, and if your meal takes a little longer to get out to you, they are very liberal with handing out perks, like free soft drink coupons. The atmosphere is pretty cozy, and like most other Beef-A-Roos, this one has a theme; in this case it is a log cabin type theme. I must say, I am not much for grabbing fast food, but I never have a problem stopping into Beef-A-Roo, as they really have a good thing going! read more

I admit to having family living in IL. Don't most of us? When I make the trip to the Rockford area this makes it all OK. Great cheddar fries (though not my thing), sandwiches are good, salads are great, shakes are excellent! The thing I like about Beef-A-Roo is they make fresh food and cater to most types of dietary needs and concerns. Even though their name has beef in the title, vegatarians are treated with respect and given many options. It's a little more expensive than your run of the mill fast food, but it is many steps above. read more

I go to beef a roo almost 1-2 times a week because it's super close to my house and work. They don't mess up often, but when they do they always correct it swiftly without argument and even gave me a 5$ gift card for my next visit. Kudos to beefaroo and it's employees that truly do what they can to make your visit an enjoyable one. read more

This is the "Northwoods" themed location. I like the warehouse deco locations better, but this one has my favorite cozy seat tucked back in a corner. They should really put some pants on that stuffed bear though. Haha! Awesome food, as usual. read more

This is my experience first time eating at Beef Aroo. Recently moved to Rockford, heard this was a Rockford landmark according to some people that live here. I wanted to try it, my experience was not the greatest one. The employees are immature and not very friendly. I ordered a burger and a shake for 13 dollars and some change seemed awfully high, nothing special about the burger or the shake. Cannot say I was impressed at all with this experience. read more
