After working in Bellevue on and off for almost two decades and seeing their place in the mall a lot of times but never trying them, I finally tried them yesterday. I used to go to McDonald's(now closed) at Bellevue Sq or Panda Express both for meat, but I decided I wanted mac & cheese. Their macaroni wasn't macaroni. It was more like large penne. The cheese wasn't great since it was soft like velveeta. The sell a lot of really good cheeses, but they don't use them on their mac & cheese. It was $10 with tip for an 8 oz disappointment. My friend had their new sausage mac & cheese. I had a piece of the sausage, and their sausage was pretty bland and the casing pretty tought. read more

As I was in Bellevue Square, I wanted to get a cookie for a snack and thought I would go to Specialty Bakery, oh wait....its a Beecher's Cheese now. So I guess Ill be ordering a grilled cheese and a mac & cheese cup. As always, it is delicious!!! Mac & Cheese is very good, awesome they serve it with penne pasta, their signature cheese is super tasty along with their jack cheeses. Same thing with their grilled cheese sandwich, I believe it's the same cheeses. It's super toasty and hot, super melty and ooozing from all the right spots. Sandwich is pretty good size for sharing so it was enough to hold us over for about an hour. Set up for the line may be a bit confusing, you can order your coffee drink while you are waiting in line before you pay because you approach the barista before you get to the cashier to place your food order, but your coffee is over here, but your food is over there..... wait are you only getting a grab & go item because you can pay over here, if not you will have to stay in the regular line..............Huh? Whuuu? Anyways, Beecher's Cheese is pretty awesome and tasty! I tried the Smoked Turkey grilled sandwich as well as their mac and cheese. Sharing the two items actually makes for a pretty rich lunch (or at least a very heavy snack). The sandwich was just alright and could definitely use more meat and tomato. It was very cheesy, but the turkey was sliced pretty thin. I barely noticed it except for its slight smoky flavor and tasted mainly the bread and cheese. I did enjoy how although toasted, the bread is not brushed with oil/butter so it's not all greasy on the outside. The mac and cheese was okay but didn't find it special enough to be called "world's best". The sauce was not smooth as expected and seemed pasty / somewhat gritty. It was also quite salty. The price is very steep at $5.50 for an 8 oz. cup. They do have one of the most extensive grab and go sections I have seen for a cafe which is filled with sandwiches / wraps, salads, cheese curds, cheese plates, etc. Ellenos yogurt is also featured. I love Beecher's, and was sooo happy that they opened one in Bellevue. It's one of the best places to eat at in Bell Square, but, seating is really limited hence the four stars instead of five. The food, by far, is five-star worthy. It's called World's Best Mac and Cheese because it really is. I'm not even a huge mac and cheese fan, but I will eat Beecher's Mac and Cheese any day. Also, their hot sandwiches are very good, especially the ones with Beecher's cheese! (My favorite is the Turkey and Cheese with tomato.) There are to-go items like salads, sandwiches and cheese plates, but in order to look at the to-go items, you have to basically hop in line to see them because the fridge is right by where the line forms, which can cause some confusion with people who were already in line and people who just want to look at the refrigerated items. The space is definitely limited here. And every time I have been here the tables and seats nearby are always filled with families, so I end up eating at the bar-top table, which can also get packed. I frequent Seattle because of the Pike Place offerings. Some days, I don't really feel going to Pike Place but I still want the muchies. I am glad Beecher's have another location. I rarely go to Bellevue, but anyway, I went to the Bellevue square for the first time. Beecher's just happened to have a location inside the mall. I ordered the usual Mariachi and and regular mac and cheese. I do not taste any difference with the original location. I suppose, the Pike Place one really adds up to the experience.. I really enjoy Beecher's mac and cheese, especially the Mariachi Mac that they always have at the Bellevue location. They always pack the bowl as much as possible, and I love the veggies that come in the pasta dish. The flavor of the sauce is very rich and enjoyable. This location is great because it is not nearly as busy as the one at Pike Place! Only knocking off one star because I have also tried their grilled cheese and tomato soup, which I am not a huge fan of. It's really nice to have some Seattle lunch options I'm Bellevue Square. There's free samples like in Pike Place Markets and the line moves quickly. The grilled cheese sandwich is always delicious but the prices are a little expensive for lunch. Unfortunately the seating is not private which includes a long bar table and 4 seat mall tables which are usually occupied as anyone can sit there. Even though it hurts my heart a little to pay $6.50 for such simple fare, this was the gooiest, cheesiest, most delicious grilled cheese sandwich ever! I ordered the flagship sandwich along with a cup of tomato soup. Their sandwich was amazing! I am definitely gonna order this again. On the other hand, I found their soup to be okay. I have had much better tomato soup elsewhere so I was surprised to see this one didn't taste as I expected. All the folks behind the counter are trying really hard to get everyone to just move along. I had asked them to give me croutons and cheese on the side instead of the soup and they instead put it in the soup and gave me croutons and cheese on the side too. Beechers was the right choice for my Black Friday snack for me to refuel and continue shopping for great deals at Bellevue Square shopping mall! Ordered up some coffee and Kim chee grilled cheese. I was worried that it would be too spicy, but not at all! It was actually surprisingly tasty! It was more like pickled cabbage. As you can see in my picture, you couldn't see the expected red Kim chee seasoning/sauce. So if you want the normal hot spicy-ness if Kim chee, you won't get in this sandwich. I'd heard so many good things about the original location at Pike's Place and figured since this location was closer they should be just as good so I was very anxious to give them a try. I went here a little before noon on a weekday and there were only a few people in line, I was expecting some long line but hey that was better for me. While they had lots of cheeses you could purchase as well as pre-made sandwiches, cold pasta salads and of course their cheese curds, the menu was short but some of the offerings really stood out. They had various egg & cheese breakfast sandwiches, tomato flagship soup, grilled sandwiches such as the dungeness crab or smoked ham and last but not least their "World's Best Mac & Cheese. I knew I wanted to try this World's Best Mac & Cheese to see if it really lived up to the hype as well as their cheese curds. I got the small size of mac & cheese which happened to be smaller than I expected and a bit pricey at $6 or so. It was very appealing, looked and smelled awesome but I was disappointed with the taste. The cheese sauce was very creamy and had a bit of spice to it but it wasn't super cheesy like I'd expected, it was really lacking. The noodles were also on the mushy side but I still hoped with each bite it would get better but it did not. At that point I kind of wished I would've tried the original location maybe I would have gotten different results. Although the mac & cheese was a big let down, the squeaky cheese curds did not disappoint. They were so yummy and satisfying, so much so that I bought 2 packs of cheese curds. While most would prefer them fried or on top of poutine they were just as good eaten by themselves. I'm very glad that I tried this place out because I was curious about the mac n cheese and of course wanted the cheese curds, I just wish this place wasn't so pricey and I had a better experience. The tomato soup is amazing. Chunks of tomatoes you can have their amazing seasoned croutons if you'd like they put in Beechers cheese. It's my favorite features soup ever. There was a steady run of customers, mostly buying cheeses. My coworker's ordered the Mac n' cheese and half panini sammich and I ordered grilled cheese and tomato soup. Good-bye diet. I love carbs so I was prepared to gain some pounds. Their tomato soup is thick and rich! Their grilled cheese is also thick and rich (that's what she said). But seriously it was so rich that at the end, I couldn't eat any other food nor did I wanted to. It definitely filled you up but it's so rich that you feel a little uncomfortable in your throat. Great potential for this new location of Beecher's in Bellevue Square! Since their Pike's Place Market location is always busy and parking is a bitch in downtown, it just makes it so much more convenient to have a Beecher's experience in Bellevue. However, the selection of cheese and menu items are limited at this Bellevue location. I have to admit I was a little disappointed at first because I wasn't aware that Beecher's had taken up this prime real estate at Bellevue Square and I was really looking forward to having something sweet and savory from Specialty's. However, I made alternative choices for brunch and then also made it a point to return for lunch on another day. Beecher's Bellevue Square is a great choice for a great quality lunch especially when on a time crunch. My friends met up at 11am, so we may have missed the lunch rush and were able to secure a table in the limited seating area. I ordered the Grilled Turkey Melt (made with Jack cheese and Beecher's original...which they had a sample of for tasting!) and was subdued by it's savoriness. There's definitely a great menu of items to choose from - salads, sandwiches, pasta! And if you just need a caffeine fix, there's an espresso bar to cater to that. I'll definitely need to try their signature Mac & Cheese! Too bad there isn't a combo choice on their menu...if there was, I didn't see it on the menu. I'd easily have chosen a turkey melt, mac & cheese combo...maybe even a sandwich/salad combo (But not for more than $10.) Next time I guess I'll order the mac & cheese to go. I should have got the grilled cheese sandwich. They have a variety of green salads as well as pasta. They also had sandwiches, wraps, my favorite, Ellenos yogurts, cheese plates, grilled sandwiches, cheese curds and a variety of cheese wedges. The line was long but went fast. They do not have chairs for you to sit and eat but they had tables you can stand and eat off of. No worries though since there are tables with chairs near the elevator. So I get that Bellevue supposedly has a high cost of living compared to most parts of the United States. I get that this is in an upscale mall. I even get that this place specializes in making cheese. Even taking all that into consideration, I still find it outrageous to pay over nine dollars for a simple sandwich. I tried one egg, ham, and cheese sandwich ($8.50 before tax). Silly me for expecting anything more than what the name suggests. Seriously, their profit margin must be huge. It was salty and a bit sickening towards the bottom of the cup. The sandwich also felt greasy and not very fresh. Not too impressed; hope the Mac and cheese improves!
