Please please please add the Pork Hash to the regular menu or bring it back as a special more frequently! It was DIVINE! Everything we had was incredible. See pics. All items we had filled our bellies quite nicely. But bring back the pork hash please. Additionally, the staff is so sweet (shout out to Shauna who was so helpful)

Food is excellent quality - carefully prepared. The restaurant is gorgeous - makes you feel like you're really away. The pastries are to die for. The service is excellent - everyone is so friendly. I love the BPB and so do many of my friends. It's a treat.

Casual but sophisticated, elegant and romantic country restaurant -- part of the Relais Chateau group attached to this beautiful six-room inn. Fireplace blazing, autumn leaves, dining inside or outside on the terrace under the pergola. It's where New York couples in love get away from the City on weekends. You get the picture. Breakfast here was delightful, served professionally, with a touch of haute cuisine. Although they didn't get my toast right (hard as a rock) everything else was good. Would definitively return, if only to experience another season here.

The restaurant has quaint outdoor seating, but we decided to sit inside, which is also nice. There, however, is no cell service and their wifi requires you to log in. This became an issue when the menu is on a QR code and there was no hard copy of the menu. The link then makes you download the menu pdf instead of just viewing it, which is a pet peeve of mine. The staff was fine and several people came by to check in and take our order. We ordered the steak and eggs and a croque Madame. The dishes were tasty but a little too pricy for basic brunch items.

The pics, reviews, and menu all seemed to point towards a yes - so off we went. Freddy's is located within the main commercial hub of Pleasantville. It's not a large restaurant, but holds a decent amount of seating with tasteful and laid-back decor. We were there right at opening at 4:30p, so it wasn't crowded but started filling up as time progressed. The menu is mostly American - arranged by apps, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. I decided to start with the burrata which was served with diced butternut squash, brown butter, and grilled bread. This was...not what I was expecting. Burrata usually comes as an intact sphere that you cut open to reveal the soft cheese inside. This was already broken, and served in an almost deconstructed way. It honestly looks like a way to cut corners as it was definitely not a whole burrata. That, and the lack of flavor do not make it worth the $17 they charge. My main was better - I ordered the smoked chicken which was a breast on the bone and came with grits, spinach, and honey au jus. This was tasty - the chicken was juicy with crispy skin, and the au jus added a welcome sweetness to the grits and spinach. We opted for dessert because birthday - I chose the carrot cake which was just okay. No nuts, raisins, or noticeable carrots - so, a spice cake? As a side note, we were there during HV Restaurant week, however in lieu of a dedicated menu they offered a prix fixe app/entree/dessert off their menu. It sounded great at face value, but then we were told the portions would be smaller - and for items they couldn't shrink they up-charged if we ordered off the regular menu. IMO, not the best way to do restaurant week - either have a dedicated menu for it or don't participate at all. That being said, we decided to order off the regular menu. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, Freddy's sent me mixed signals - the food wasn't bad, but this isn't a place I would go out of way to try again - it's more of a local spot in my perspective. If circumstances found me here again, though, I wouldn't be mad.

We split two appetizer of the spiced cauliflower and tuna tartar. Both delicious and really easy to share. Our table was cleared of all silverware and plates to welcome the main dishes. When a runner came out to bring our mains, he noticed we didn't have silverware and quickly diverted his pace to get someone to give us silverware. It was very nonchalant the way he moved and the mains were then served shortly after the forks and knives were placed. I specifically took note of this and complimented the runner for noticing this and making sure its was taken care of properly. I dine all over the world and lately good service is hit or miss. Mostly miss. So when I see it done right, I make sure I let it be known that they did the right thing. Hopefully it gets passed on. This restaurant will see me again for sure.

Given the choices available in the area, this one made the most sense, so we gave it a shot. In keeping with the night, it was tremendous from the opening tip. Bartender mixed a great drink...the managers/owners (couldn't quite tell, which actually made it better, given that I'm fairly certain it was an owner jumping in behind the bar when things got busy) were kind and funny and pointed us in the right direction on the menu...and the overall vibe was that of a perfect neighborhood tavern where virtually everyone who walked in was received as a beloved regular and where things moved at their own perfect pace. I can also recommend both the sea bass and the burger; both were cooked to perfection, and are more than worth returning for. If you're looking for a normal night in Pound Ridge, bypass the inn up the street and settle in for a helluva night....

***3 1/2 stars***…read more For an impulse decision, this could have been worse. My top tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I drove through here on Saturday after briefly considering a stop at The Inn at Pound Ridge and not liking the valet parking vibe. We had no idea there was a cute little main drag on our way and after squealing for about 10 seconds, quickly found a parking spot and explored (and kept an eye out for nearby resident Blake Lively). There aren't a ton of dinner options available but this one looked like the best outdoor ambiance situation, so we wandered in and procured a table out on the porch. I thought they should have either trimmed back or removed the bushes right next to the porch for a better viewpoint - my dining companion felt privacy was a bigger selling point than the view, so your mileage may vary. We'd had a legit meal a few hours ago so the apps and drink menus took center stage. I had a Manhattan (I think it was called a black one because it had rye/was on the darker side, but I could be mistaken), and we split the duck dumplings and calamari. The duck dumplings were amazing - my texture-based palate suspiciously noted a crunch, but the actual taste was off the charts. The apple rosemary puree paired perfectly with the duck confit, and it felt almost silky, which is not a word I typically use to describe an eating experience (an Evian drinking experience? Yes.). By far the highlight of the meal. The calamari was very mediocre and we ate maybe half. The texture was rubbery and the actual calamari was super salty (which was an interesting contrast to the bland marinara sauce that accompanied it). The Manhattan was okay - I actually got it at the last minute because a nearby table procured them for every guest in their party, which seemed intriguing. You could definitely taste the layers and the cherry on the bottom, but for me it just tasted like a nothing-special variation of an Old Fashioned. In hindsight I would have gotten something else, though the cocktail menu was surprisingly small - I think it literally only had four options. (There were definitely more wine/beer selections available) The service was fine; my chum hemmed and hawed a bit in selecting the perfect outdoor table, but the host was very patient/courteous with her deliberations. Our waiter stopped by pretty regularly and despite not being on a pressing schedule, we were probably in and out of there within an hour or so. I noticed a few reviews mentioned the dark interior, which I have to agree with - it was legitimately hard to see people when you were inside, and the bartender was very proactive in directing me to the restroom without my asking for assistance, which makes me think others wander in from the porch a little disoriented from the sudden loss of light, but maybe he's just that accommodating. Either way, I'm glad we were outside and could see each other; a little more lighting could go a long way in there. This is a a super bougie area, and you'd expect the restaurant situation to reflect that. It LOOKS like it belongs in an upper crust section of Westchester, but the overall quality ultimately doesn't get there. Pleasant enough though.

My family and I found ourselves at Bedford Post Tavern for an early Fathers Day dinner. I had heard…read moreabout this place sometime last year when it first opened, but it was never really on my radar. Nevertheless, my dad suggested we try it - and since I'm never one to turn down a new dining experience I booked a table and we made our way over. As the name suggests, BPT is located in Bedford. It's actually one of the onsite restaurants for the Bedford Post Inn - I was browsing their website and it looks like a super luxe place to stay (then again, Bedford so...). While the name suggests that the restaurant is a tavern, there's really only a standard bar in the first room upon entry to the restaurant. We were seated in one of the side rooms which was very nice but did not have a tavern feel at all. The space was open and airy with a bright, neutral color scheme and light woods throughout. The menu isn't too large, and contains mostly elevated American fare separated by snacks, apps, mains, and sides with an additional raw bar selection. We decided to start with two snacks - namely the popovers and smoked trout croquettes. I did not partake in the croquettes, but the popovers were pretty good. They were huge and paired with a honey butter that provided a nice complement. The consistency of some of them were a little off, though - to the point where one of them did not pop fully and came to the table cold in the middle; we brought it to their attention and they quickly rectified it. For my app I went with the heirloom tomatoes - this was in fact a burrata that was paired with the tomatoes and watermelon. This was good, the ingredients were fresh and the melon paired well with the melon. The cheeseburger was speaking to me so I decided to go with that for my main - this was a relatively simple burger paired with cheddar, raw onion, and tomato. It also came with fries that were paired with ketchup and dijonnaise to dip. The burger was tasty, and I appreciated the raw onion and unmelted cheese as it added texture and prevented the cheddar from sweating. The fries were also really good - just overall a solid dish. We opted for dessert; I had the cornbread sundae which was delicious - creamy ice cream paired with blueberries and "corn soil" (ie, crumbled cornbread) mmmm. Service was good - everyone was really friendly and made us feel super comfortable. I do feel they need to fine-tune some of the details; in addition to the popover issue I mentioned, there was a slight delay in my mother's app coming out (pet peeve of mine). Also, my dad and I both ordered the burger but cooked to different degrees - upon inspection I noticed they gave us each other's burgers; a simple swap resolved that but I'm glad I inspected the burgers first. Overall, we had a really good experience at Bedford Post Tavern - I'm always nervous dining out on holidays but they really came through. The food, service, and aesthetics were all solid. I wouldn't hesitate to return for another meal.

It came with basmati rice, onions, chicken curry, and tzatziki sauce -- and wow, the flavors were amazing together. My husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and said it was great. My son stuck with his usual chicken fingers and fries, and I knew he loved it because he finished every bite. For dessert, we shared the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream on top. Our server Juan let us know it would take about 10 minutes since they make it fresh, and it was absolutely worth the wait. One of the best apple crisps I've ever had. Juan was amazing and very attentive throughout the meal. The only downside is the parking -- there's a small shared lot with several other businesses, so finding a spot can be difficult.
