Becks has a large selection of very nice cars. And while they do not seem to have "junk" beware for hidden issues with these vehicles. I purchased a 2013 Honda accord that appeared in perfect condition only to find the rocker panels were severely rusted and covered up. I'm frustbecause I asked what the undercarriage looked like since I couldn't fit underneath the car to see myself. The rust came through a few months later. I had the pleasure of working with Alex Kovalskiy on getting me a used 2014 Nissan Sentra. This is the second time I've come to this lot to buy a car. The first time was a few years ago and it was a 2011 Nissan Versa. I was working with a young woman whose name I unfortunately do not remember, who also gave me great service. I had such a great time the first time I came to get a car from here, that it made sense to come back to get a replacement for the car I bought before. And the car I bought before just has a few issues so I'll be able to sell it for a little bit of money to a family member. So it's not like the old car even ran itself to death. I like to wait a bit before I write any review about a car I bought, just to make sure that I get a chance to use the car and see how everything's going to go. I have had zero issue besides the car needing a new shock. The car has run great! I am extremely happy with my purchase. And when I took it to the mechanic on the test drive to get it looked at, the mechanic gave it rave reviews. I feel like I get really lucky too, because this car was maybe the third car we walked past and the first car that I took out on the test drive and I found a great car just immediately. I feel like this lot always has a lot of good cars. In fact, when we were there it look like the lot had a lot of sales because there wasn't a whole lot of cars on the lot that day. Which is obviously great for them! I love the service of the people who work on this lot. They don't hover over you while you look at the cars in the lot and pick which one you'd like to test drive. There's no stress or fuss about taking any of the cars for a test drive. And since we all got there right as the banks for closing that day, and it was a Saturday, so the banks wouldn't be open until Monday, we were able to put down a deposit that held the car until I was able to bring the rest of the money Monday. So that was really helpful and it eased a lot of the worry I had because I knew I probably wouldn't have enough time to make it to the bank even if I found a car I liked. I honestly thought I had written another review about my experience the first time I bought a car. It might be on another site. But I definitely recommend this lot even if you have to make a little bit of a drive. I think it's worth it! read more

If you look at the car fax reports a lot of their vehicles are auction cars......This isn't necessarily a bad thing! millions of cars are sold at auction- but you need to do your due diligence and make sure you get the vehicle checked out if it's an auction car. Becks auto group sold me a bmw with a power train warranty which had the Motor fail within 2 weeks of leaving the lot I had stressed my concern and the warranty they sold me was a dud and barely covers for labor. I then threatened with the bbb and they agreed to replace my motor for whatever the warranty would pay. However come to pick up my car after a long 6 weeks of it sitting at their facility with me having no transportation at all after purchasing my first vehicle from them since I had just started college and I commute it made my life very much miserable. I come to get the car after 6 weeks and it's leaking power steering fluid they proceed to tell me they'll give me an estimate I didn't think much of it since the car just had a new motor put it I wait a whole 9 days to just be told it'll cost 1k to fix without a breakdown of what the issue is or paperwork. I had filed this complaint with the BBB in hopes their ratings will be true but after seeing these reviews it seems like they have screwed countless number of people over and I am not going to beg for them to fix their mistakes I will however ensure they become a better business one way or another. read more

Probably one of the worst dealership experiences I've had. I came up on a Saturday morning to look at a Infiniti, from out of state. I walked in and the salesman I had been talking to was busy and couldn't show me the car so he handed me off to another salesman. No big deal. He got my license and keys to the vehicle I was wanting to trade in and I went for a test drive. The car drove great felt extremely tight for the milage. When I got back I walked in front of the car and could smell a little bit of oil. My salesman said it was probably from the oil change they just did and assured me that there were no leaks. I told him to go ahead and see what they could do financing wise. He took all of my information and took it to the finance department and came back and said it would be a little bit, that they were back logged. I waited another 15 minutes and they were still with other customers. My salesman said I could take the car and grab lunch and hopefully they'll be ready for me when I get back. So I left and went to get lunch. I returned about 20 minutes later and the finance department still wasn't ready for me. I asked my salesman about how much longer it would be since I work night shift and didn't get much sleep prior to driving an hour and a half to come look at the car. He left to see if he could get an update. Anna (one of the finance reps) came back and said that since it's a Saturday the bank is taking a little longer than normal to process the paperwork. I explained to her that I work night shift and didn't get much sleep prior to coming up to look at the car. She suggested I go home and they would hold the title to the vehicle I was trading in and would call me as soon as they hear something back from the bank. I said that that was fine but to please call me as soon as you hear something back so I can make plans to come back up and sign the paperwork. 2 days go by and didn't hear anything. So I text my salesman that I am no longer interested in the Infiniti and would like for them to return my title. Almost immediately he calls me and hands the phone to Anna. She starts getting rude with me right off the bat. She tries to tell me that she could have sold the Infiniti twice on Sunday and that because of that I would have to pay $300 to get my title back. I never signed anything agreeing to having to pay anything to get my title back if the deal didn't work out. I told her that I never got a call back letting me know that everything was good with financing and to come back and sign the papers. She then proceeds to tell me that I was approved (again 2 days from my visit) and that it's not her job to call me and let me know. That I should have set up a time to come back and do the paperwork. I tried to explain to her that she told me she or my salesman would call me when financing came back and every time I'd try to say anything she would interrupt me. I asked her multiple times to let me speak and every time she would interrupt me. She was extremely unprofessional and I had to raise my voice to get her to stop talking so I could explain that it shouldn't be up to the customer to have to follow up on something that I was told would be communicated to me when they received word back from the bank. While I was trying to explain this to her she interrupted me again and handed the phone back to my salesman and I could hear her in the background saying she wasn't going to talk to me anymore. She told him that if I wanted the title back I'd have to pay $300. My salesman asked if I wanted to speak with the sales manager and I said yes. He told me the sales manager would call me back and hung up. I never received a phone call from the sales manager, or anyone else. I sent a text to my salesman and asked when he was going to call me and he said that they would mail my title back to me. It's been almost 2 weeks now and have not received my title. I'll probably have to get my attorney involved in order to get it back. I will never step foot in this dealership again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

In mid-February, 2019, my daughter purchased a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek from Beck's Auto Group in Mason, Ohio. The person who handled all the financing and paperwork was Jack M. The first sign of trouble was when the 45 day temporary tag was about to expire, and my daughter still hadn't received a copy of the title. This of course made it impossible for her to register the vehicle in her name, or purchase plates. When she called Beck's, Jack told her that it wasn't unusual and she should go to the DMV, get a second 45 day temp tag, and he would reimburse her the cost. When the second temp tag was about to expire, and she still hadn't received the title, I called Beck's. I called on May 16 and talked to Jack. This was at 12:46 p.m. He said he would look into it and call me right back. When I didn't hear from him, I called again at 3:28, and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about (he actually asked my daughter's name, which I had given to him during my first call). His memory jolted, he told me he had turned everything over to an associate, Ana, but she was on the phone. He said he would find out what was going on and promised to call me back, "In less than 10 minutes." When I didn't hear from him, I called back, only to be told, "Jack has left for the day." I asked to speak to the manager, and sales manager Steve P. got on the line. He said this had been passed on to him. He started going on about how the auction house where they bought the car had 21 days from when Beck's bought it to get the title to them, and that they hadn't received it yet. He said he tried calling the auction house, but they wouldn't get back to him, and the only thing he knew to do was to give my daughter a refund. So, Beck's sold my daughter a car that technically didn't belong to them, and to make it all go away they wanted her to bring the car back, pay her off, and that would be the end of it. He must have said five times, "It's not our fault." Really? It's not their fault? Who sold my daughter a car without a title? It's interesting that the Carfax shows that Beck's bought the car from the auction house on December 10, 2018. If Steve was correct that the auction house had 21 days to get the title to them, that would have been December 31, an entire month and a half later before my daughter bought the car. I called back the next morning and told him I'd give him until five o'clock or so to find the title. He said he would get back with me. To be fair, he did call back around noon to tell me that he had heard back from the auction house, and they were trying to get the title from the dealer THEY got the car from. So, the auction house got the car from a dealer who couldn't produce a title, Beck's bought a car from an auction house that couldn't produce a title, and then sold it to my daughter without producing a title. When I didn't hear from Steve by 5:40 p.m., I called again. He told me that the dealer who sold the car to the auction house was trying to track down the lady who traded the car in to them, to see if she would be willing to get a duplicate title and sent it to my daughter. I asked if Beck's was going to pay for a rental car for my daughter to use. After a few minutes of ridiculous excuses and preposterous suggestions, I finally told him to forget it, she'll take the refund. I told him I expected Beck's to refund her entire deposit, plus the two car payments she'd made, reimburseme her for the temp tag AND the amount she paid to insure the car. He asked when we wanted to bring the car back and I told him Monday (May 20). He said he was scheduled to come in Monday at 9 a.m., but he might be a little late. We arrived at Beck's at 10 a.m. and I asked to see Steve P., to which we were told, "Uh, Steve's on vacation." Nice. I told him I needed to see the person in charge. A few minutes later, the elusive Ana came out and said that she knew what was going on. I told her the amount we expected, but she said she had to talk to the owner to get it approved. A few minutes later, she came back and issued the check. Ana mentioned several times how none of this was their fault, and that they were losing money on the deal (as if we cared). At no time has the owner called my daughter to apologize. And Jack? Well, he was there (we could see him in his office, which meant he could see us), but not once did he come out. He hid in his office, and Steve was M.I.A. On the day my daughter originally bought the car, Jack said that he hoped we would leave favorable comments on line. There's a better chance of Amelia Earhart walking through my front door to offer me free flying lessons. I'm sure when Jack reads my comments he'll respond by calling me a liar, or he'll say I've gotten the facts wrong (that seems to be how he rolls), but the bottom line is Beck's sold my daughter a car without a title, which means it wasn't theirs to sell, and there's no disputing that. read more

Spent 4 hours today checking out a 2003 Honda Accord EX for my sons first car. Test drove the vehicle, thoroughly checked it out, and then took it to a mechanic for a complete inspection. Asking price was $6,495. Comps for same make, model, year and mileage all across the country are mid $4k range, so the vehicle was over priced from the start by around $1,500. Our initial offer was $4,500, but the dealer was unwilling to negotiate the price at all - even though they asked us how much we were willing to pay. He said he paid more for the vehicle and was only able to adjust the price by $200 to $300. Within less than a minute, he was asking us to look at other vehicles at our price range - SERIOUSLY!?!? We just wasted 4 HOURS of our day and in less than a minute, you're asking us to start all over from the beginning?!?! News flash - don't put vehicles on your lot you're unable to negotiate the price. Otherwise, put the word, "FIRM" next to the price tag to inform those looking that you're unable to negotiate much. That's how honest businesses treat their customers. BTW: My son could have paid cash for the full asking price. It wasn't because he couldn't afford the amount. We were prepared to go as high as $5,500, possibly even more. read more

Avoid this place at all costs, I spent overall 4 hours here and at the mechanic with a car I was considering. I drove 45 minutes after being told the car I was looking at drove great and had no issues. To my dismay I arrive and it has every light imaginable on, and made a terrible noise as it drove due to the fact it needed a new timing chain. They told me their mechanic on site just ok'd the car, later on he said they didn't have a mechanic at the time. Despite all of this I made an extremely fair offer. The car needed overall about 1500-2000 dollars worth of repairs, not to mention it was overpriced to begin with, they wouldn't negotiate more than 400 dollars even though I was told all their cars were open to negotiation. I was lied to to get me in the door, but in reality they wasted a whole afternoon of mine. The most classically sleezey car sales men you'll ever find. read more

Becks auto group March 5th bought a Volvo XC90. Drove 5 miles turned it off at the gas station, it wouldn't start again. Called Vernon's (salesman) private cell and he didn't answer and didn't return my call. Didn't return my call the next day either. Called Becks and Alex answered he said he could give me a jump on his way home. Thank you Alex. I didn't make it to the freeway and the check engine light came on. March 12 I took our mechanic and he was not able to connect up to the computer. I took it to another mechanic and they were able to read the codes. I was told it needed a new battery and the oxygen sensor and the catalytic convertor Low voltage. They didn't have time to look further. March 21 I was able to get in to a mechanic in Portsmouth. He was able to run a complete diagnostic. They replaced the battery and turned off the check engine light. The check engine light came on the next day. I made a new appointment on the 25th. March 25 They ran another diagnostic and it came up with codes P420 and P430. The same ones it has had all the time. We need to replace the manifold with catalytic convertors and the oxygen sensors. March 28 Took it back to our Mechanic he don't want to work on it since we just bought it. We looked under it and the manifold has been burned off and it has new flex hoses on. The manifold has no gaskets and all the bolts are different some are not even attached to anything. They burned through the manifold. The transmission has been worked on and there is Permatex squeezing out of it. We are waiting on the gaskets to see if the catalytic converters has been cleaned out so the check engine light wouldn't come on right away. We called Vernon said Steve (Manager) would call right back. I called back after 2 hours and was told he was gone for the day. He will have to call me the next day. Vernon didn't bother calling me so I wouldn't hang around the phone all day. Still waiting............. Don't believe carfax from them. read more

Buyer beware Have the auto checked by your mechanic prior to signing any paperwork. We purchased a 2015 Subaru Legacy Saturday 11/16/19. The dash lights came on Monday 11/18/19. Tried to contact dealer, no return call. Dropped the car off at our mechanic who inspected it and gave the advise of return it to Belks. We purchased the extended warranty and are unable to locate a mechanic to do the repairs. Still no contact back from the dealer. read more

I wanted to take a few minutes here to write about my experience at Becks Auto Group. I'm going to go into a bit more detail than most would appreciate; but it's for good reason. I am absolutely elated with the experience and product I got at Becks. I found my car online. I called the number having no idea where or what Becks was. The phone was promptly and politely answered by Raymond Neal. Total professional. I worked in the automotive sales industry for 5 years. I have a bigger guard up than most people when it comes to dealing with car sales people. Let me tell you - Raymond surpassed my initial hopes and I quickly got past any hesitations. He patiently and professionally answered any and all questions I had (on a Saturday mind you - the busiest day you can have at a dealership). We set up a time for me to come in later that day to test drive the car. I showed up at the dealership hours later and he had the car primed up and ready to take out on my test drive. There was no hassle, no up-sell attempts; no bs whatsoever. Copied my license and I was out the door to try out my car. When I returned I had some questions and some concerns. Raymond answered the ones he could and quickly reached out to the owner of Becks. This is when I first met Ozzy, the owner. Great guy!! This man takes pride in his business and you can tell he works very hard to keep it going. We went over the questions and concerns I had. He answered each one as fairly and honestly as you could hope. Again, I had my guard up looking for answers that would raise a red flag. I had none of that with him. He was open, honest and direct. We made an agreement for me to return Monday and have it looked at by a local service shop to ensure there were no hidden issues. - I'll just pause here for a moment and say this. You are dealing with used cars, folks. Get it checked out. Yeah, it costs a bit of money but it's the best insurance you can buy. Spend the time and money to have your potential car looked at to be sure you get what you expect. It's that simple. It's easy to blame a used car lot for the car you got, but really you should have it checked out. That's how used cars work. - I returned on Monday, had it checked out - everything was solid. I called Raymond on the way back to tell him to start the paperwork. We were on our way. Back at the dealership Raymond already had everything ready to go. I got in with Jack in finance. Guess what? Fantastic guy! Just like Raymond and Ozzy. He was easy to talk to and work with. He knows his stuff inside and out. I was in and out very fast with this group. Never at any point did I feel rushed, tricked, hurried or pressured. They have a huge inventory to select from and they move cars, this is for sure! No pressure felt at any time. I've been to (and even worked at) plenty of dealerships where you can tell the salesman is just a wolf hungry to eat you. Where they don't care about anything but slaughtering you and moving that car. Becks didn't even have a hint of that. My salesman was top notch. The owner was a fantastic guy who runs his business as a business should be run. Their finance guy is a stand up guy who will help you in every way possible. A to Z, my experience was just fantastic. Go see Raymond and let him find you what you need. Go give Ozzy a handshake. Go finalize your deal with Jack and give him a high-five. A) Most new cars these days don't come with a spare tire, floor mats or emergency/jack kit. That's just the world we live in these days. You have to buy a pretty decently packaged car to get those perks. Check for yourself - that's not 'standard' anymore. It's not Becks' fault that they were not available. My car didn't have any of those either. The car doesn't even come with them brand new from the new car dealership. B) Where were you when your daughter was buying a car? Shouldn't you have been there with her? I'd never let my daughter buy a huge purchase without my advice and input. The brake lights and turn signal were out? She could have checked that. You could have too if you had gone with her. C) Your daughter should have had the car checked before she bought it. I know you are upset - but that's not anyone's fault but hers. My second vehicle I have purchased from Becks. I have been very satisfied with both purchases. Just financed a 2013 Chevy express van 114,000 miles. Drove it for 8 days had an issue with heater. I recently purchased an Acura TSX from Beck's Auto Group and, at first, I thought it was a really good deal. This was despite the fact that, for some reason, the car came without floor mats. I have owned the car for less than a week now and here is a list of things I have discovered. 1. Neither of the fog lights work 2. Only one of the head lights works 3. The wiper blades are completely shot 4. The brakes are squeaking - probably because the car needs new brakes. Conveniently, this didn't start until the day after I brought the car home. So now what I thought was a good deal is looking like a very expensive investment for me to get this car in roadworthy condition. I will update as the situation unfolds. read more
