I'm new to the metro-Phoenix area and found Salon Estique through social media when one of their stylists caught my attention. I booked a haircut and partial color, and during the appointment she recommended adding a hydration treatment. I was happy to follow her professional recommendation. The total came to nearly $500, which I was prepared to invest for high-quality results and specialized knowledge. As someone with naturally bouncy curls, it's great to find a curl-focused stylist. Unfortunately, my search continues in metro-Phoenix. The results here were super disappointing. My curls were left flat and lacked their usual shape and volume at the top of my crown. At this price point, I expected a higher level of styling expertise and knowledge that enhanced my natural texture rather than diminished it. My stylist even commented, "I don't know why it's so flat on the top." Me either, sis :( I did get much better results when I washed and styled my hair at home. However, styling was part of the expense and experience. While I don't mind paying for skill, I left feeling disappointed in the overall result. I won't be back to Salon Estique.

This is an investment and i needed to make sure I had every confidence in her. I have had hair extensions for a few years off and on and by different people some who I wish I didn't. So I know what I am looking for and what I am to be cautious over. 1. Her place was very clean, the light was not bright enough in my opinion (didn't bother me much for the consultation) but cleanliness is more important. 2. SHe is very knowledgable and asked me alot of questions on my expectations, my future hair colors if any etc.. 3. SHe was open and upfront with her schedule and I could tell she was looking to try and fit me in. 4. The only thing that threw me was I ad to go buy my own extensions form a place in Oakland because she orders hers through an online store and I wanted mine done before they would arrive. Maybe I am spoiled but usually my hairdressers would go get the hair as it is their specialty and it removes a lot of mistakes that could happen. 5. The place she sent me to was HUGE!!!! But her contact there treated me well and knew I was her client just by the card she handed me. It was great, he even gave me a discount. All in all 4 stars I couldn't give 5 due to the fact I had to drive to Oakland and back for my own hair. Thus far she is extremely polite, very professional, and thorough. I tried another place and was so embarrassed, constantly trying to hide my hair extensions. I read other people's reviews and found her! The way Midgi places my extensions is truly natural looking. Also, her coloring of my existing hair always matches perfectly with the extension being added. People comment, "you took your extensions out, that's all your natural hair." She's a true professional and knows hair extensions. She's fair on pricing and I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of. HORRIBLE experience with Midgi! I needed a re tape for my hair extensions. I took my hair…read moreextensions out myself and took the glue off the hair extensions to the best of my ability. Midgi told me over the phone if I did that, I'd be charged $75-$100 for just the re tape. So I go to my appointment, she re tapes the extensions (told her I like to have my hair in a pony tail) and she tapes the extensions where you can SEE THEM A LOT in a pony tail! NOT ONLY THAT, but the hair extensions fell out DAYS LATER! She must use cheap glue. Then, for the re tape she charged me $300! What a scam! All for the extensions to fall out! I re scheduled a re tape but I let her know I won't be going to another re tape where the extensions will most likely just fall out again. I requested a refund from Midgi but have NOT heard back yet! Now I have to pay ANOTHER PERSON $300 for another retape! Don't go to this lady for hair extensions, total rip off!

The studio owner Kara came by my chair to visit and offer input on the overhaul of my hair, and naturally she's as sweet as pie. Don't listen to me, just make an appointment and get your hairs did! PS I just read the ridiculous bad reviews and want to point out that irrespective of what the customer experienced, the owner Kara spent hours and REFUNDED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS to make it right and the people did not bother to edit their reviews to reflect that the problem was addressed. The keys to avoiding those situations are simple: Communicate IN FULL with your stylist, before during and after your appointment. Do not lie at the end of the appointment saying everything is fine if it isn't, because the minute you do that, YOUR integrity is in question and your complaints take on an air of bullshit when you decide to whine on Yelp.
