I called the salon to make a first time appointment as I live nearby and wanted to support a local business. Cara called me back, so I made an appointment with her for 6 days from that date. When I arrived for my appointment a stylist came to the door and said Cara wasn't there, that she'd missed earlier appointments as well, and asked me if I had her number. (I thought that was odd - I only had the salon number.) I had received no notice that she was canceling and the other stylist had no idea where she was. So I asked if she or anyone else would be able to cut my hair and she simply said "No". She didn't offer to check for another day or time. Oh well, I went somewhere else and got a haircut! read more

To start, I am happy with my hair color and have received compliments on it already. However, it caught be by surprise when it came to paying. Originally, I have been with Victoria previously at the salon she used to be with so I decided to stick with her, because she did dye my hair the first time and we were working towards the look I have been wanting for about 4 months now. Before going, I did ask for a price estimate and sent her a photo of the color I wanted as well as sent her a photo of what my hair looked like currently...She told me it would be $120-140 depending on the amount of product used and an extra $25 for the haircut. Which i was totally fine with! By the end, my total for my haircut and hairdye ended up being $243 without tip included. I was entirely shocked but ultimately had no other choice but to pay this amount because my hair was already permanently colored. I just wished she would have told me this ahead of time, because I would have just taken my business elsewhere. I have not met anyone who has paid that much for their hair color and they have double the length that I do. (my hair is just below the length of my shoulders) Victoria is a nice woman and I do appreciate how nice she has been to me, but unfortunately I will be in search for a new stylist. read more

Great little shop!! I got a Livingsocial deal for a Keratin deep-conditioning treatment, hair cut, blow dry and style and pedicure and it was great! The ladies working there are genuine and very kind. They offer a lot of different services , especially considering that it's a small shop. I think my favorite thing about it was the shop itself- average-looking shopping center, but inside very chic, fun and modern. The owner definitely cares about causes- she has animal rescue, toiletry and food donation boxes, charity boxes and postings, etc- all over, and she offers discounts for services if you donate. The shop also had cute, trendy zebra rugs and chairs, fun wall decorations, trendy and fun mustache pillows, glamorous mirrors, plants- that whole thing. It's a fun-looking atmosphere. She also had a "if you can't afford a hair cut or are unemployed, I will cut it for free" sign, which is very unique and special. They offer nice products for sale and have new products- for my pedicure I got a color the technician bought the day before from a new summer Essie collection. If you're looking for a dramatic change, TELL THEM. She said she usually goes conservative on first-timers and Groupon/Livingsocial buyers since they may be trying it out for the first time, but if you want something special or dramatic JUST ASK. I got something simple, but it looks great to me. They have a lot of specials, it looks like, and free cuts for referring other people, etc. I'll definitely be back. It's a little pricey, but I think it definitely shows that they're more educated and willing to work with you than the average Great Clips or Fantastic Sams store. Also...she knew by some type of curl pattern on my head/hair that I had awkwardly curly and straight hair when I was little....how do you even know that??? Anyway, genuine, nice people. Cute atmosphere. Trendy and simple. A nice place to go and only a little more than a cheap, run-of-the-mill salon. She said it's under new ownership and she is the new owner, so if you have been here a while ago and didn't like the experience, still try it out- she revamped it and it's totally different now! I've been debating writing a review. I hate writing negative reviews, especially for small businesses. But if I can save someone from a bad hair cut I feel like it's worth it. I'll start off by saying that the ladies who work here are lovely. The owner is very sweet. I've come here for a few years. I used to see a specific stylist and I loved her but she moved. I decided to keep coming to Hair Again because its affordable and right down the street. I will say that I've only ever got my hair trimmed here. You cant really mess that up. However I got straight bangs this year and needed a trim. I came here because my bang girl wasn't available. I was really disappointed in my bangs. She gave me layers in them and cut them straight across. I wanted a style change so I came in to chop off a good portion of my hair. It was below my boobs and I wanted it right above my shoulders. I asked for a FEW LONG layers. I needed up with a 1980s hair cut. The layers go all around my head, they don't blend, they are extremely short. Its terrible. I'm eagerly waiting for it to grow out. The lady who cut my hair has been doing hair since the 80s. I don't think they require any kind of continuing education to keep the stylists with what's new in the hair world. While I would recomend this place for a trim, I wouldn't go here for anything that requires skill. I'll be spending 60$ for a hair cut from here on out just to make sure I get what I'm hoping for. read more

Go forth and get your head examined by one of the fine stylists at Hair Again! I went in to see Cyndi, a friend from college that I haven't seen in forevers, and she gave me a fantastic new (edgy and asymmetrical) 'do, and I was absolutely confident because she was absolutely fearless in her approach to me having a coiffure tantrum and chopping off my hair. The studio owner Kara came by my chair to visit and offer input on the overhaul of my hair, and naturally she's as sweet as pie. Don't listen to me, just make an appointment and get your hairs did! PS I just read the ridiculous bad reviews and want to point out that irrespective of what the customer experienced, the owner Kara spent hours and REFUNDED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS to make it right and the people did not bother to edit their reviews to reflect that the problem was addressed. The keys to avoiding those situations are simple: Communicate IN FULL with your stylist, before during and after your appointment. Do not lie at the end of the appointment saying everything is fine if it isn't, because the minute you do that, YOUR integrity is in question and your complaints take on an air of bullshit when you decide to whine on Yelp. read more

Horrible experience at this salon. I had about 7inches of hair cut off by Becky but she messed up the haircut and now I will have to get it cut even shorter to fix it. I went to r salon on camelback to have someone take a look at it and I was told that the haircut is bad its to short in the back and the layers were not good. I have an appointment to get it fix on thursday but im so sad that I will have to cut even more of my hair off and I will have to pay for another haircut. I paid way to much to be going through this and I had to go here 3 times before they even gave me the $45 back that I paid for a BAD haircut and im still out $30 that I gave for a tip. If I would've seen the back of my head I wouldn't have paid a dime especially no tip. Trust me I could of got a better haircut at supercuts. Please do not go here they charge the same amount of money as an upscale salon but the work is no good. Becky messed my hair up. I would never recommend anyone go here. Please save yourself the trouble and just go elsewhere. My hair had not been touched in 2 years due to growing it out. Also I told becky that straight is how I always where my hair, obviously not for the 2 years spent growing out. Yes I paid $128 plus $30 tip. I Had 7 inches of haircut off before she dyed it brown. So she only dyed my regrowth that is brown. All the previous box dye was cut off. In 2 years I put one brown box dye on my hair and that was a year ago. Becky cut off 7 inches of my hair before adding any brown dye to my hair. Oh and the pictures were taken as soon as I got home. Yes my hair was glossy but that doesn't fix my hair being messed up and I paid for quality if I wanted to chance a bad cut I would have gone to supercuts! So now my hair will be cut more just to fix it and I will pay more money when I shouldn't have to. This salon should not be in business they messed up my hair and then don't want to give me my money back to go fix it. And no I dont want to take any more chances with this salon and have them fix it, I really dont want to end up bald. I would never want to take my money back that I spent on a service but if they mess up then its not fair to me that I pay for bad services plus more to fix it somewhere else. The pictures speak for themselves its a horrible cut. I shouldn't have to wear it scrunched to look okay. I should be able to wear my hair however I want. And I shouldn't have to "bully" for my money back kara. What can I say - I love Kara! I don't color my hair ever but she did mine today. I love the way it came out. It's a little sassy, very good blend, and perfect color mix. She did a weave of red and blonde which brightened my hair right up. It's about the same as it was when I was in high school! Kara gives an excellent consultation giving you all of your options. I've gone here a couple of times now, and both times, Larry was my stylist. He did a really good job of listening to what kind of look I was after, and executed it well. It seems to me that they do a lot of really basic cuts, but done well. So if you are looking for something really trendy or cutting edge, I probably wouldn't go here. I purchased a Groupon to have a Keratin Deep Conditioning Treatment & a blow out. Truthfully,you never know what to expect so i always go into it with out high expectations.You don't have to go to scottsdale for a great blow out and the price is very affordable as well.I have LOTS of hair which she didn't charge extra or complain about (like others have in the past) What i found is a wonderful kind Soul named Kara who uses quality products and really cares about people in general. I was very impressed that she offers a discount to those who bring in canned food for her needy kids food drive. I've been to this salon 3 times. My first experience was great. I had Victoria who gave me a wash, a trim and offered to blow dry my hair straight. Total came out to $15. My second time was with Carmecita, who specializes in curly hair which I have. She was so sweet. She also gave my hair a wash, a trim, but no drying. Total was $40 which did catch me off guard. Third time is the reason I will not be going back. I had Cyndi. She gave me a trim,blow dried my hair straight and used a straighter..which I don't get why. Victoria didn't need one. Anyways no wash was included because I had already washed my hair. The total came out to $60. Which is ridiculous. I didn't have any special work done. I've always asked for the same thing. How does it go from $15-$60??? I feel prices need to be discussed ahead of time because it's just absolutely ridiculous. Moving on. I have my hair trimmed into a V versus straight across. Cyndi completely gave me something else. Which is shown in the pics. This was just plain horrible. When we were done I didn't notice it because obviously I can only see so much from my viewpoint but once I got home my family instantly noticed it. And I had an event that day. I was so upset. I hate getting a trim in general because I like my hair long. So because Cyndi messed up I had to get it cut TWICE. My hair is so short now and I hate it. All thanks to Cyndi who should've just flat out said she had no experience in doing a V cut. I then proceeded to call Kara,the shop owner. She apologized and said she'd be able to fix it Wednesday(this happened on Saturday). You must be crazy if you think I'm gonna walk around with choppy hair for 4 days! Client satisfaction is definitely not a priority at this salon. I was refunded but a refund can't fix how short my hair is now. For the sake of your hair, don't go here. Update: Words are being thrown left and right here. Cyndi never said those words. Why would I go back to her to redo my hair? I'd run the risk of leaving with a bob. Point being. I had my haircut with Kara awhile back and meant to write a review sooner, better late than never I guess. Just made an appt for my husband to get a much needed cut and there is no better place to go than here. Best Salon experience I have had in I don't even know how long. I called to make an appt and was able to get in same day and was able to get the time I wanted which ended up being pretty close to the end of their day, luckily I never felt like I was being rushed. I had pretty long hair and damaged at that and wanted to do something dramatic, not just a trim. Kara convinced me not to do something so drastic like cut it into a bob but more of a shoulder/mid length hair and I was so glad she did. I had long hair for so long and wouldn't know what to do if I had decided to go shorter, didn't want to spend too much time styling and needed to be able to pull it back for work as I am a server. I feel like she knew me and knew exactly what would look good on me which I was hoping cause she's the professional not me and I shouldn't be the one making decisions lol I felt even more of a connection to her as a person than I did as a client, she was so warm and sweet and we had a really great conversation throughout the whole thing, honestly I felt like I was talking too much but she never felt like I was being annoying. Normally I just want to be left alone and sit in the chair, get the cut and move on with my life but with her I felt so comfortable like I was having a gf cutting my hair. The price point was what brought me in, I was so tired of spending $45+ just for a trim and when I saw $25 I was in shock, i figured there would be some hidden charge esp. since my hair was long, damaged, and I was looking for more than a trim but nope it was what the site said in the end so I left her a good tip and promised to tell everyone I could about this place and leave a yelp review (sorry it took too long, don't leave too many yelp reviews). HIGHLY recommend this place, Kara, and everything this place is doing for the community like not overcharging and provided a comfortable place to get a great cut. Just decided mid review to get a trim myself when my husband goes in, think it's been 6 weeks since my last cut. Normally I don't do the 6 weeks thing in between cuts but I am moving out of state in 2 weeks and don't know when I'll be back to see her again but every time I'm back here I will be scheduling a cut at this awesome salon and one for my husband! My experience began by calling to make my same day appointment. I was greeted by Kara who came off as very friendly and enthusiastic! I had no idea she was the owner until I came in and sat at her chair. She is one of the most personable and sweet-natured people I have had the pleasure of meeting in addition to being an absolute "hair nerd". She also posted my great review dated 7/2015 on Hair Again's page, which I meant every word but not anymore!! I just know people aren't always what they seem. One more thing Kara said that she asked if I "brushed my hair" of course I did because I told her that my hair was washed and clean and brushed before I went back to her shop!!
