Anywho, we wanted to get a bite before heading back to North Austin and pulled in. My husband's pallette can be like a six year old's sometimes so he opted out. The woman I spoke with at the window was really sweet and recommended the crab cakes, and I got the crab cake po' boy. So good! The roll was nice and soft. The veggies were fresh, and the sandwich was really, really good. The mac and cheese special was pretty good too. I didn't get a whole lot of the crawfish flavor but it was still nice. A typical ATX food trailer vibe. Service is okay. Food is almost okay. For the prices they charge, I need better than okay-ish. Their prices are comparable to an indoor, seated, full-service restaurant, yet they aren't that. Ingredients seem to be fresh, but the cook seems to equate "Cajun" with "oversalted." There are other spices, you know. Like the fries with sea salt and garlic butter. WTF? Soggy, weak-flavored, and adding nothing to any entree. Attempts to add spice to some dishes fail in the attempt at any sort of authenticity. Chipotle and Buffalo sauces may add some heat, but they are what yankees think southern seafood should be. read more

Tried this seafood truck for the first time yesterday. The chef was sweet and the gulf shrimp and fries were delicious. Rather than paying for an entire order of shrimp and fries he gave me a half order of fries with the shrimp. Both wonderfully seasoned and the dipping sauce was tasty! using my girlfriend's Yelp account to post this... I have always been a loyal customer to this business and I was really excited to get my crawfish today. I did call four hours in advance to reserve one and a half pound of crawfish, and good enough, they sold my batch without giving me some sort of a heads up. Would've expected a quick text or at least a call before we make the drive out from Onion Creek but no, that didn't happen. Ok... Of course, after learning that the other order they were able to make for us wouldn't be enough for two people (which was what both orders were supposed to be for), we had to order a replacement for the call-ahead soldout crawfish order of ours. Was told to wait for 10 minutes. Ok, so we wait patiently wondering why we weren't even offered to have our 2nd order being free or at least discounted? After waiting for a full 20 minutes after making a payment for the first already-made order and for another order to be made, we realized that our order wasn't bothered to be pushed up front of the others that had shown up later for their pick ups after me. Ok. Oh, and when we finally got the bag of our orders and was headed on our way home, we had to realize later that the GARLIC BREAD side was actually missing AND not even an extra bit of food to "make up for all of that"? Southern hospitality and stunning flavors! Just had the scallop pontchartrain, it's perfectly balanced with umami giant scallops, richness and a hint of tanginess. The portion is enormous (I was starving and could only eat half of the food) and the seafood are fresh and tender all for $18! Ps. Husband and I have previously had the hush puppies they were the perfect lightness with fantastic flavor and so fresh. Very good food and I need to try to run thru more of the menu. When we arrived it wasn't too crowded, but I could imagine that the parking is nuts if a lot of people show up. Just park behind the BBQ truck and you'll have plenty of room. We ordered and the person taking the order was super cool/nice. I ordered the shrimp po' boy and absolutely loved it. Pretty standard roll with great/fresh tomatoes, wonderfully lightly battered fried shrimp and a sauce that was over the moon. I also got the Boudin Balls. They were nuclear hot. Both spicy hot and fried. So much so that I couldn't really taste much else. It was the only down side. I was expecting some sort of crab thing - no idea. It was just hot. If you like hot stuff, you will like this. My son had the two item basket. He loved the oysters, but that's not on my go to list so I'll have to trust him. It had the same shrimp and lots of them. So maybe this is the deal/way to go. The fries were fabulous. Many other people have described them better. It also came with cole slaw. It was a bit too moist and citrusy for me. Not the best I've had but Ok. Finally, it came with a couple kick butt hush puppies. The hush puppies had Jalepenos and crawfish in them. I'd recommend it. Yes, go here. You'll love it. Very disappointed. I was very much looking forward to eating here. The food looks great, but when we arrived, at 4:30pm when they said they would be opened, they were in fact closed. It's even more aggravating because we drove a good distance out of the way to try this spot. If you post that you will be open, you should be open otherwise you could waste the time of people who travel to try your food. If you don't want to be open at that time, change your posted hours. Our first visit after recently moving back to Travis County was a wonderful meal prepared by Beaux. I had a combo plate with Oysters and Gulf Shrimp and Kerri had the Oyster and Battered Fish filet. All fresh and not frozen. The preparation was exceptional. The hush puppies are some of the best we've ever tasted. French fries were very very good. Large servings and good value. The guy frying everything up was comparing himself to Emeril and the girl working the window was sneezing into her hands and commenting on her allergies in between removing our food from the fryer. I order the shrimp cocktail and the fresh gulf shrimp were deveined and cooked to perfection and served with a proper cocktail sauce with the perfect amount of horseradish. This is one of the most underrated eat spots in Austin - that's not quite in Austin! It's a 15 min drive, but worth it. How they make such high quality food on a 6' x 10' box is beyond me. The Crab cakes with Buerre blanc and catfish and chips (fries) are excellent. The Gumbo is amazing, and all of the boil-type food is great. We take a drive, get some food, walk the high street in Buda while we wait (super cute) then take the dog for a walk along Onion Creek. I love the food here. I travel or I should say when we are not in a pandemic I travel a lot for my job between Austin and San Antonio. This without a doubt was my favorite seafood place in Austin. The fried catfish with fries is simply amazing. I always made it a point to call ahead and pick up when I was in the part of Austin. However, I'm not sure I'm going back and it has nothing to do with the food. When businesses take political stands it alienates customers. I really wanted to love this place. The pics of the food look amazing and very thoughtfully put together. A few things that are causing this review- 1) Salty, Salty, Salty! 2) i got the scallops with lobster mushroom risotto, while it was everything I wanted it to be (although too salty), i found a dead black beetle in my dish :((((( at first i thought it was a mushroom its legs gave it away. I decided I'd not let that ruin my much awaited dish so I scooped it out and ate a bit more. Ate 2 of the 4 scallops but lost my appetite. Wrapped it up and brought home but now that Ive thought through it a bit more (like is the food prep area clean) and have a bit of a stomach ache, it's def going in trash:(. Guessing by total bill, the dish was somewhere in range of $25 and I hate that I have to throw out 3/4 of my dish:((. 3) Finally-- the first time I went there was last weekend. I saw the chef fiddling with some type of mosquito repellent at the same counter he hands me my food. I should have thought twice about going again but I really wanted to have the scallops risotto. And not to mention- i noticed today that his fingernails we're grimy :((((((. They dont wear masks. They dont put out hand sanitizer and all condiments are out for anyones hands. I had two fears: 1) that it would be overpriced ($11) & 2) that it would have that old been-sitting-under-a-heat-lamp-for-too-long flava. Well let me just tell ya folks... THESE WERE THE BEST DANG FISH N CHIPS I've ever had. Ever. It all tasted super fresh, like it had just popped out of the fryer. The 'chips' were perfectly seasoned, crisp on the exterior & fluffy inside. The fish was flaky & actually melted in my mouth like butter?? I didn't know this was possible. Finally dropped into Beaux Seafood after a few weeks of following and drooling over their photos. Let me just say that "Beaux Knows Seafood". My SO and I got 6 things from the menu (cuz that's what we do with new to us spots - try as much as we can first time). We ordered Soft shell crab, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, shrimp cocktail, scallop Ponchartraine and the gumbo. Beaux is 6 for 6 on the execution. All of these dishes were spot on flavorful, spiced right, super fresh, cooked to perfection, and presented well with hearty portions. I grew up in Houston around Cajuns and Seafood and this guy absolutely knows what he's doing. Stop in here ASAP - you will not be disappointed. There is one thing that would make this place better... a place in Downtown Buda! Their food is insane! I love getting the baskets. Last time I tried the beer battered fish, this time the catfish. In both instances, the fish has had awesome flavor, cooked up just right, perfect amount of breading. I can't say enough about the greasy, salty, packed-with-flavor french fries, some of the best I have ever had! The boudin balls are to die for! Awesome crispy crunch on the outside, moist and flavorful inside with the perfect amount of spicy, and the chunks of crawfish really make it excellent! Even the slaw is great.
