Gorgeous family-owned shop. I purchased orchids from a sidewalk sale a while ago. I am terrible at keeping plants alive but the young man that helped me provided simple and effective care instructions. The blooms lasted for quite some time and after they wilted, I followed the care instructions and am thrilled that the orchid has now sprouted new buds!! Also love that this is a family owned business that had been in the community for some time. They were super friendly when I popped by around Halloween and handed out sweets to little ones. read more

I just checked google reviews and there were others that had the same experience as I did. I had a very disappointing experience with this place. I went to the store and was helped by a very pleasant woman. She helped me pick out a nice arrangement for my mom's birthday. I was a little put off by how expensive it was, but it was the last minute, and hey, it is my mom. I found out the next day that the orchids were not delivered. Nobody from the store even called me. When I finally got hold of someone, they said their delivery person had a problem with the delivery. Well, first of all, my mom's apartment has a 24-hour doorman and second, they had my phone number on record just in case there was a problem. They did apologize and offered to give me a discount a try the delivery again. Guess what? They still did not deliver it. I have just called them back again (again, they have not called me) and I can't wait to hear what they have to say this time. read more

My mom is an orchid fiend, so for Valentine's day I decided to get her a unique specimen that would stand out from all her home depot phalaenopsis (phalaenopses?) I called in to inquire about picking up a miltonia plant, as the description mentioned that they were scented and I thought that was the business. The lady over the phone told me she had two specimens available and that she would take pictures of them and send me phone pics! How awesome is their customer service??? After texting her my choice, I drove to the location (parking sucks), brought my own pot for them to pot the flowers (free of charge!), gave the resident pooch belly rubs, made the transaction and was out the door in less than 5 minutes. It's not so much that the orchids themselves are expensive - many cost well under $100 - it's the total package that jacks up the price. Potted flowers are sold sans the pot, and cut ones require a vase, so unless you're planning to present them in an empty tin can or plastic water bottle - neither of which are suitable for gift-giving, although they'll make the blooms look that much more attractive - you'll need to purchase the necessary accessories. On average, you can get ten freshly cut stems for the same price as one blooming potted bulb, the drawback being that the former will wither quickly while the latter, with proper care, hopefully will last a long time. The knowledgeable staff can answer any and all questions you may have about the different varieties available. read more

I thought I was at the wrong place because Beautiful Orchids looked more like an upscale home furnishings store than the quasi warehouses I've come to expect when shopping for orchids. They have a wonderful selection at normal prices, ie don't expect any deals. The service is great, too. I came near closing and the lady had an evening class, but she happily agreed to stay a couple minutes after closing to help me pick out a birthday gift. read more

I had been looking for an aorchid to give the girl for her birthday and had been to several different places to check them out. When I walked into Beautiful Orchids it was immediately apparent that this was a step (or 2) above the others. Not only was the store beautiful, but each of the arrangements was a work of art unto iteself. Additionally, they had several varieties that I had not seen anywhere else. The staff I met was all extremely knowledgable and freindly, as mentioned in other reviews and the experience, although pricier, was a very positive one. Three days since the purchase, the little beastie seems happy, healthy and already sprouting more flowers. It is in a spectacular vase that my girlfriend loves and she says it goes wonderfully in her apartment. We have both spent some time fascincated by the plant and each day it is a little different. I will returning to pick one up for myself - having become a bit infatuated with the idea of having one these pieces of "living art" (well phrased Pamela B) in my house. read more

Isabella is a sweetheart and her staff is very friendly and helpful in helping me choose out an orchid arrangement for my mom and my friends. I bought some really nice handcrafted one-of-a kind jewelry necklace, with matching bracelet, that I wear on special occasions and get many compliments on. Troy is a top-notch merchant. First of all, his plants are unbelievably beautiful, especially if you're used to buying orchids at Trader Joe's or Costco. We stopped in to buy an orchid for friends of ours who'd just had a baby. We went with a VERY reasonably-priced offering ($35). While walking down the sidewalk to the car, the flower caught a gust of wind and snapped. My wife immediately went back into the store to explain what happened. Troy's response, verbatim: "Oh I'm so sorry, that shouldn't have happened. Why don't you do this: pick out any orchid in the store that you like." My wife couldn't find another one of the same price point.......and settled on a GORGEOUS $75 plant. Troy apologized again for the inconvenience and packaged the new one up for her....and never asked for another penny. Merchants like this are tough to find. We'll definitely be back. read more

I had a terrible internet order experience with this company. I ordered orchid supplies almost 4 months ago and immediately received a very general e-mail acknowledgement. When my package didn't arrive after several weeks, I emailed their webmaster as the acknowledgement instructed and customer service. I received no response. Then I called both the long-distance "customer service" number and the toll-free order number (several times at different times of day) and left messages. They don't answer the phone. I never received a return call. Finally, I gave up, cancelled my order via email and voice messages on both telephone lines and ordered what I needed from Hauserman. Today, MONTHS later, I received the package. Beautiful Orchids is getting it back at their expense, and I've filed a dispute with my credit card company. They may be great if you live in the neighborhood and leave with your items in hand, but I DEFINITELY would NOT RECOMMEND this company otherwise. Gorgeous, long lasting cut orchid bouquet! This review is long overdue. I purchased a huge arrangement of white cut dendrobium blooms for my mother. She and I are both orchid hobbyists and have always grown potted orchids. I thought it would be cool to try something new and actually get cut orchids for a stunning mass of blooms. They lived up to my expectations! She sent me pictures of her show-stopping bouquet and it lasted weeks! I can't speak for their potted plants as I have yet to purchase any, but I am highly impressed with this company. read more

I have admired photos of gorgeous orchid arrangements and beautiful cachepots from Beautiful Orchids' website for some time now. Thanks to my sweet DH and some help from a little birdie, I finally received two beautiful Phalaenopsis arrangements sitting in gorgeous cachepots!!! One arrangement has multiple cascading flower spikes and the other contains several pots of a rare pretty fragrant hybrid. Both orchid arrangements have healthy premium plants with many spikes/buds and nice shapes. DH said owner Isabella was extremely helpful and accommodating in his selection process. She is willing to make recommendation and work within a reasonable budget as orchids and pretty cachepots can be very pricey. I am definitely pleased since I usually buy orchids either from orchid nurseries or orchid shows and have not thought of getting them from a florist. I tend to like less common varieties and find many florists charging premium prices for common orchids after adding minimal to no other greens and arrangement decorations. Yes, Beautiful Orchids does sell common ones but it has a good selection of some rare varieties. The owner is also willing to help customers search for specific ones if they are in season. I would recommend other orchid hobbyists or people who just enjoy having a pretty pot of orchid to visit this florist. read more
