I was paired with a different nail technician, and the quality of service was noticeably different. She asked if I wanted my toenails trimmed, and I said yes, but she only trimmed my big toenails and left the rest untouched. The polish application was also very poorly done. It was uneven and looked rushed--the worst polish job I've ever received during a pedicure. I considered mentioning it, but her two children arrived during my appointment, and I got the impression she may have been distracted or trying to finish quickly. Based on my second experience, I don't plan to return. It's unfortunate because my first visit set such high expectations. I hope the salon can provide more consistent service in the future.

I've had acrylic and gel nails and they just ruined my natural nails. Michelle is meticulous about sanitation, which I love because I have had problems with other places not being as clean as I think they should be. I was blown away by the service and education that Michelle provided. It was about how water effects the nails as well as how the shape of the nail makes a difference in breakage. She also sells a cuticle oil that is lovely. It smells like almonds and has already made a difference in my cuticles. She also takes her time to do the manicure correctly. No being super aggressive with my cuticles. She trimmed them back properly and without any pain or bleeding, which I've had happen at some other salons. They are usually in too big of a hurry and nip me, which I hate. Michelle put a CND shellac nail polish that went on beautifully. I actually had a design put on my third fingers for Halloween. It's the shadow of a kitty cat. And Michelle used a something called cat's eye to highlight my french style manicure. It was a really cool process that I haven't seen at any other salon. When I called from my own phone, I received a message indicating that my call was being screened and they were not accepting my call at that time. I then called from my husband's phone and was able to schedule the appointment without any issue. Shortly afterward, someone from the salon called my phone and told me that I was no longer allowed to receive services there and stated that they have the right to refuse service. I understand that businesses have the right to refuse service, but when I asked why, I was given no explanation. There was no apology, no clarification, and no attempt to address the situation. The response was very flat and dismissive. I had been going to this salon regularly since moving to Reno, probably around 10-12 times. The only interaction I can think of that may have led to this happened during my last appointment about three weeks ago. After I paid, I respectfully asked why the price seemed to change every time I came in. I had been charged anywhere from around $40 to $60 for similar services, so I simply wanted to understand what I should expect to pay moving forward. I was told the price depended on the nail technician. I then asked whether there was a more consistent or standard price because I wanted to know what I would be spending every few weeks. That was the entire conversation. I was not disrespectful, argumentative, or abrasive. If asking a reasonable question about inconsistent pricing is enough for a returning customer to suddenly be refused service, I think potential customers should be aware of that. Looking back, I also overlooked concerns about the cleanliness of the salon because I liked that they offered hybrid gel, which can be harder to find elsewhere. After this experience, I would not recommend this business based on the customer service, communication, cleanliness concerns, and overall management. Apparently I will not be returning, but I wanted other customers to be aware of my experience. If you have questions about pricing or your service, just know that asking for clarification was not received well in my experience.
