Let me start by saying the doctors and most of the staff here are friendly and professional except for one person: Maria, the one who handles treatment plan quotes. Please make sure you fully understand your consultation with the doctor before speaking with her, because she will try to upsell you and quote you incorrectly. She does not listen, nor does she try to understand what the doctor actually recommended. She bases all her pricing on her own assumptions and the pre consultation notes, even when the treatment plan clearly changes after speaking with the doctor. When I asked her why the pricing was a certain way, she wouldn't answer the actual question and just kept repeating her version. I eventually had to ask her to bring the doctor in so she could understand the real treatment plan. Only then was she able to quote us correctly. There were even additional treatment options the doctor mentioned, but she never acknowledged them until she explained it herself. It's disappointing because the doctors here are great, but every interaction with Maria has been frustrating, dismissive, and inaccurate. I hope management addresses this, because patients deserve proper communication and correct information, not pressure, upselling, or assumptions. Like a dumbass, I agreed to go on back because they were calling my name. Afterwards I was charged well over $100 for a simple periodontist visit. When I called back for details, they explained the charge was for the negotiated rate PLUS the entire yearly deductible. I went round and round with the office manager telling her that's not how deductibles work. I finally got her and the insurance agent on the phone, who confirmed that the deductible is ONLY about who pays what portion of the negotiated rate. It should NEVER be an additional charge. The office manager finally agreed to write off the extra, as if she was doing me a favor. I later called the insurance company, and they confirmed this is insurance fraud. I put in an official complaint, as the office manager told me while we were arguing that "this is the way it's been for the entire twenty years I've been working here." That implies she pulls this BS with every client, or at least those dumb enough to fall for it. After looking back over my bills, I also realized that almost every time I'd gone in, they later sent me a bill for $80 without explanation. Again, like a dumbass, I trusted them and just paid it. I've held off on writing this review for various reasons. But it's long overdue.

What happened to my mother at this dental office was so unacceptable that I have to warn others. My mother doesn't speak English, which is why she drove over an hour to Arcadia to see this dentist, believing she would be able to communicate with them. She had confirmed her appointment through the office's text reminder system (proof available) for a routine teeth cleaning. When she arrived, the staff insisted she take another set of X-rays. My mother politely declined, since her appointment was scheduled for cleaning only. At that point, Dr. Han Jun became visibly upset, hostile, and verbally abusive. My mother was insulted, threatened, and ultimately kicked out of the office. The encounter was so stressful that her blood pressure spiked to 180/97, leaving her dizzy and in tears when she called her daughters immediately afterward. I don't know what happened to the front desk receptionist or the other team members in this office but shame on you for hiding and allowing Dr Jun Han to unprofessionally yell, cuss, and threaten a patient. Her husband, Dr Shaun Xu, is also a dentist in the office and he was the only one urging her to stop, and she would yell and threaten him too! I believe this minor disagreement on X-rays was a tipping point in Han's personal life which caused this assault. Regardless, as a professional (?) licensed dentist, you do NOT VERBALLY ASSAULT YOUR PATIENTS, no matter what you're going through in your personal life. No patient should ever be pressured into unnecessary procedures, threatened with insurance, or spoken to with hostility. This experience was not only unprofessional but extremely DANGEROUS to my mother's health. If you value respectful and ethical care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
