I highly recommend this dental office! I haven't been to the dentist for a while, but Dr. Kuo and his staff made my visit extremely smooth and easy. The staff made it very easy to schedule an appointment in the same week, and I was seen as soon as I arrived. They also were very clear with my insurance coverage, as well as any copays I would have. Brian is a great dentist who really cares about his patients. He takes his time to explain treatment options and possible outcomes for each option. He doesn't try to sugarcoat anything and is straight to the point. I used to hate going to the dentist... well I still do but Brian and his staff make it more bearable. I had terrible hygiene and I feel like I also had terrible dentists in the past so I have tons of work that needs to be touched up. I've had dentists who wouldn't believe me when I said I still felt pain and would get frustrated and just barrel through the work. Not Brian, he makes sure you're comfortable every step of the way. I had a very disappointing experience at this office. I had confirmed my appointment over the phone for a specific morning time (which I rearranged my therapy session for) and was told they could fit me in on Friday. I was happy it aligned with my schedule and even canceled an appointment at another dental office to come here. When I arrived, the front desk clerk seemed puzzled to not see me scheduled in the system and asked if I was sure. I told him I was confident because I always schedule appointments in my iPhone calendar as I make them, and I even showed him my color-coded calendar. He was the one who asked if I had received any confirmation by text or email, and I explained that if I wasn't in their system, of course I wouldn't receive a reminder, the system wouldn't send one. He agreed, saying, "Oh, that's true." I also showed him my call log with our 17-minute conversation where we had discussed why I wanted to visit this location. I first came here in December when I was searching for a new dentist after my insurance changed and my previous dentist no longer accepted it. My previous dentist office is Loyal Dentistry, also in Arcadia where I've been a customer for over 5 years. I received dental cleanings, fillings, and my Invisalign done there. I gave this place another chance now because the reviews were so amazing. I take time to choose providers carefully, especially for something as personal as healthcare, and I genuinely wanted to build a relationship with this office. Unfortunately, it feels unorganized and understaffed. Today, they offered to "squeeze me in," but I didn't want to feel rushed or have my concerns overlooked. I was hesitant because two additional clients walked in after me and I felt like they may have to rush my care to get to them. Unfortunately, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and stayed, and ended up feeling exactly that: rushed. The dentist never sat down during the exam, made negative comments about a filling, and suggested they wouldn't fix it because Medi-Cal "may be too cheap." That comment alone was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. Even during my first visit in December 2024, I had the first appointment of the day, but the front desk staff arrived late and hurried inside. My friend who came with me even commented it looked like he had "just woken up." I remember not really minding at all, but I can see now the pattern of this rushed, unorganized behavior. The first appointment is where Dr. Kuo called out my filling and told me that it didn't look like a great job was done which left me with concerns and questions that I wanted addressed. As he was explaining things to me, I naturally had follow up questions and he told me to Google them. I was a bit surprised by this response because it was polite, but politely unprofessional. Today, they also had me sign a disclaimer form AFTER the procedure was done, which felt backwards. Are they polite? Yes. Organized? No. Overall, it seems like they book clients back-to-back and try to rush through them as quickly as possible, all while having the dental hygienist also work the front desk - and it just feels chaotic. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Kuo by a friend of mine who happens to be his client as well. I need my wisdom tooth extracted. I came for my first visit for an X-ray and cleaning and I was not disappointed. Him and his assistant were very thorough and kind. He always asked if I was doing ok during the cleaning and he explained everything that they were doing and why. He was also light on his hands which helped a lot since I have sensitive teeth. Pricing is competitive as I am to return in two weeks for the actual extraction and I can't wait to get this little sh*t extracted. *UPDATE* My wisdom tooth area had Pericoronitis and even then it was painless! I know sometimes extractions take longer depending on the person's tooth but mine literally took 1 minute of the removal procedure. Probably 10 mins for the anesthesia. My appointment was at 10am and got out of there at 1030. Not gonna day that everyone's experience will be this fast coz again, it depends. However, I think Dr. Kuo is light with his hands and since he's very knowledgeable and skilled I felt no pain! Both him and his assistant Vanessa were awesome. I decided to go to Dr. Kuo to get my wisdom teeth extracted after seeing his positive reviews on Yelp. I was not disap. Booking the appointment was very easy thanks to his friendly assistant Vanessa. Before the appointment, she communicated with me through text message to verify and run my insurance, and she even gave me an estimated price. When I went into the office, I noticed it was very clean and modern. There were comfortable sofa chairs for my girlfriend to sit on while she waited for me. The paperwork process was fast and simple since Vanessa had already run my insurance through. Before the extraction, Dr. Kuo examined my x-ray, which was taken at the office, and explained to me why I would need my wisdom teeth removed. Then he told me the exact price of the procedure and asked if I was okay with it. There were no hidden costs. During the extraction, he was quick but also precise. He made sure to ask me if I felt any pain every few minutes to make sure that the local anesthesia was working. He also repeatedly told me that I was doing well, which gave me more confidence in the procedure. Overall the extraction took around 40 minutes but it felt faster than that. My experience with Dr. Kuo and his staff Debbie was awesome/surprising/great. I had a wisdom tooth removal back in late Jan and the whole process was like " wow". And I say "wow" because it was quick. I went in sign paper work, Debbie put on a numbing gel, they applied the oral injections in my gums and then he started to extract my tooth. Honestly the whole process was quick. Like in 5 mins he took both my upper wisdom tooth and I felt no pain. He gave me extra gauze pads and a sheet of paper that says what to do and not to do. The next day after the extraction I felt no pain, I felt no pain whatsoever after my tooth got pulled out. Honestly, I think it's just all in your head. Anyways, I would come back again. Dr. Kuo saw me recently for a 2nd opinion/consultation after another dentist said I needed a gum filling and antibiotic rinse. I didn't understand the need for all these procedures when it had never been brought up to me my dentist in my home state. After evaluation he determined that those extra procedures were not medically necessary for my teeth. I was relieved but also thankful he wasn't money driven to try and undertake those procedures himself. I will definitely come return to his office.
