First of all, it is never an easy choice to get surgery specially with my teenage child. No matter how others may seem to make it out as a standard procedure. I had to have an old root canal tooth removed and while my dentist thought the tooth would come out piece by piece, Dr Cho was able to remove cap and roots in one piece. Came back again to remove my remaining wisdom tooth. Everything went well this time as well. Dr. Cho and the team were great. I checked in at the front counter and waited to be called in. After several minutes, I was brought into a small room where Dr. Cho looked over the x-ray I brought and explained the procedure. I was removing my upper left wisdom tooth, and it was erupted so he said it'd be much easier than my previous impacted teeth. The recovery will be faster too. You have to pay before getting the procedure. $350 for this tooth. Consultation fee waived since I came in to do it same day. The procedure was quick, less than 15 minutes. They rubbed some numbing cream and then injected local anesthesia. After about 5 minutes, Dr. Cho returned and removed the pesky tooth. Since it was a small tooth and not impacted, I wasn't prescribed antibiotics or painkillers. OTC painkillers like Advil and Tylenol work. They gave me some gauze and I was sent on my way home. read more

The speedy consult and all 4 wisdom teeth extractions took place in under an hour, and the IV sedation worked great; no memories and no pain. Got to keep a trophy tooth souvenir too :) The only issue was with my Dental insurance, but that was not because of Pacific Coast OMS, just because Delta Dental only decided to cover up to a set limit. Amazing and professional team of oral specialist! This is the second time Dr. Cho perform oral surgery on my son. First time it's the extraction of four pre molars before braces. And this time it's the extraction of four wisdom teeth. The whole procedure (extraction of wisdom teeth) was done in about 15 minutes! When Dr. Nam came out, I thought that he was going to tell me that my son just got sedated, but in fact he told us that it's done!! And the surgery was done perfectly. However the cost was horrible, extremely over priced my dental insurance is a ppo that covers 80% but they insisted that I pay 50% upfront. which AFTER my insurance was almost 1,000 for just two wisdom teeth. After exaplaining I felt it was overpriced the women at the front said ok we're still charging u for the consultation. which was the 2 minutes I spoke to the surgeon who just repeated what my dentist already told me. This is a very professional team, gave me the best surgery plan and also I had an excellent surgery experience: not too much pain( pain level only 2 out of 10), no nausea, no infection after surgery and I am 100% satisfied of the final results!! Dr. Cho is great! I had my wisdom teeth on the right side of my jaws removed about 10 years ago, and it was a bad experience because my lower wisdom tooth is impacted and the roots were gnarled. It took a long time to remove them, so long in fact the dentist had to take a 15 minute break because he was exhausted and I had to have a second shot to numb the area because the initial anesthesia wore off. To no fault of the other dentist, as he showed me the root of my wisdom teeth and it's easy to see why it was a difficult removal. There were some complications on the recovery too, as it took nearly a month before I was free of pain and was able to eat any form of solid food. So I was apprehensive even though my dental hygienist insist that I need to have the last of the wisdom teeth removed, my bottom left. FINALLY made an appointment with Dr. Cho, I literally had nightmares of the last time the night before. Dr. Cho put me at ease, explain the procedure, and it helped I explained to him what happened the last extraction. This time, I was in and off the dentists chair in about 20 minutes, and 2 days later the pain is mostly gone. Besides some minor swelling and soreness of the cheek and muscle, I'm back to almost normal. I had a wisdom tooth infection. One side of my face was swelling. My dentist was not able to take it out so she referred me out. When I called the referral office they gave me an appointment that was a month and half away. I had a course of antibiotics and some pain meds but it started to swell again after two weeks so I came across a Yelp review for Dr. Yip. I was quoted for $2000 for 4 wisdom teeth removal at ANOTHER dental place without insurance, so when I saw that Dr. Yips review(should be listed below), I immediately called them and the price remained the same as Yelp review, around 1350/4 wisdom teeth-2impacted. I had an appointment set with them-still had to wait a month without insurance, but later on the pain was just intolerable so I gave them a call again, the staff took me in for an earlier appt. It was almost 50% less than my original quote from another dentist. Dr. Yips staffs were helpful. I had my X-rays sent to them, but they took extra X-rays when I got there, but the amount I paid remained same as quoted. He worked on another patient in between the wait time in which I needed a break from exhaustion, came back after 20min-enough time for me to try to relax again lol Took approximately 30min to have all four taken out(not including 20 min waiting). Two bottom going sideways. Dr.yip did not give me any antibiotics, he prescribed some pain killers and told me to call him for any other questions that comes up. Very upfront with the price, in which helps me feel less anxious about hidden fees that most dental places have, trust me. I have contacted and seen many ridiculous prices. The office is located on the second floor; the parking lot is located behind the building so you have to walk around. The receptionist takes your temperature and gives hand sanitizer when you walk in. Prices for wisdom teeth extraction: Each tooth varies between $295-$395 (Mine totaled to be $1390) The xray cost $115 (you can bring your own xrays that were taken somewhere else so you don't have to pay) Consultation costs around the same as xray, but they waive this fee if you do the procedure the same day. General anesthetic (being put to sleep) is an additional $500. There is no fee for numbing shots. This is all without insurance and might be changed so call ahead to confirm! As a person with extreme dental anxiety and a small mouth, I was really worried to get my wisdom teeth taken out. I chose Dr. Cho's office because they had the earliest available appointment (for consultation and procedure on the same day) and affordable prices without insurance. Overall, Dr. Cho and his assistants made me feel comfortable throughout the whole procedure. I had four wisdom teeth (2 bottom impacted) taken out under local anesthetic. I told him that I was nervous and he told me that he would take two out first and see if I would want to continue. The numbing shots hurt the most. He emphasized that I would feel pressure while extracting the teeth, but it was not bad at all. The assistant held my chin so it didn't feel like my teeth were being yanked out. He constantly asked if I was doing okay. Taking four teeth out took 45 minutes and he did not put any stitches. They give a reusable icepack sleeve that they wrap around your head to help with swelling. It has now been two weeks since my surgery and the recovery process went well. Dr. Cho is a great surgeon and I recommend him 100%. SUGGESTIONS: Listen to a podcast/music during the procedure to drown out the sounds if nervous. Your lips will get dry so put on chapstick. Ask for more numbing shots during the procedure if you feel anything at all. Take your pain meds ASAP after surgery! read more

I needed a tooth extraction and had several referrals. After weeks of research i choose to go with Dr. Cho in Arcadia. I work in Beverly Hills among many oral surgeons, which i have used in my past. However I had a good feeling about this particular referral. I took a chance and made the hour drive. I have tried many dentist but this office has to be the most welcoming practice i have ever experienced the office staff and nurses made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and caring. After viewing my X-Rays and examining my mouth Dr. Yip recommended getting all my wisdom teeth taken out, and did a great job explaining all the options I had. Him and his team were able to squeeze me in for a wisdom teeth removal the same day, which was really appreciated as the next available appointment slot would have been in early September and I didn't want to wait that long. As for the procedure itself, I ended up deciding to remove all 3 of my wisdom teeth under local anesthetic. During the whole procedure Dr. Yip made sure to explain what he was doing in each step, and the whole thing took like less than 30 minutes.
