My husband had the omelette and it was delicious and hearty and so hot you could see steam coming from it. I asked for crispy hashbrowns and they were made to order. Young guy with Dark hair and mustache) was informative and helpful without being intrusive. I was all over the board because everything sounded great. He recommended the Chicken Fried Steak. Save your money and go elsewhere. Being newer to this area my gf and I decided to try the small local diner for breakfast, but were quickly disappointed by both the service and quality of food. Upon arriving we entered the restaurant and were not greeted so we assumed it was open seating, when we began to sit the two servers just looked at us like we were crazy until I asked the waiter "is it open seating" where he responded no you have to get on the waiting list but didn't take my name or give me any direction on how to access this mystery waitlist. We were then offered a spot at the bar but the waiter just seemed irritated. We ordered the huevos rancheros which was extremely bland, and the requested over-easy egg had a solid yolk. The salsa was flavorless and there was barely any sauce on my food, so I had to cover it in cholula, salt, and pepper just to give it some sort of flavor. The hash browns were also lacking seasoning, and the only decent thing on the plate were the refried beans. The only reason I was able to finish this meal is because I needed to cure my hangover and I was starving. After finishing we had to wait about 20 minutes for our check which I had to ask for 3 separate times. Cherry on top was the gross coffee that was $5/cup and we were never offered a refill on our waters. They have a really cool location. The diner is cute. It has the old school diner feel and it's on a good strip in Southtown. It's clean, service was pleasant. My son had the patty melt which he loved and the fries cut like chips were great. I had chicken fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans with mushrooms in them. The chicken fried steak and potatoes were delicious. The green beans and mushrooms were super salty and tasted canned. I don't mind canned goods it's that they tasted canned. I love this place! It is definitely tiny, but the food is not! I had the breakfast burrito, which is everything that it should be, without doing too much. Avocado, scrambled egg with cheese, hashbrowns, bacon, and sausage. The tortilla was nice and toasty and tender. mom had the breakfast plate, and ordered her eggs over medium. This is always her test as to how good the cook is - and they passed with flying colors! I saw a guy that ordered biscuits and gravy and his eggs sunny side up, and I noticed that the white of the egg was completely cooked, and the yolk was perfectly sunny side up. The people on the other side of us ordered a pancake with their breakfast, and the pancake was the size of the plate. I heard him say while he was eating it, "this could be one of the best pancakes I've ever had!" The service was excellent. The people were friendly. The only thing I could find that I would improve upon was the size of their iced tea glasses. When you order iced tea, you definitely want more than an 8 ounce juice glass. We will absolutely be back, and I can't wait to take my husband here! read more

First time visit and impressions the location in the King William's estate and South Alamo of San Antonio. Facility is very nice quiet decor the menu is simple small selection no complaints. San to say the food had no flavor everything was bland. I order the breakfast sandwich like a egg bacon McMuffin no seasoning and my hash taste like a spoiled potato from the barrel and my wife had the chicken enchiladas with black beans and white rice just say she was disappointed. The owner Mr. Tony was very nice but waitress during our visit wasn't very welcoming even though I tipped her above 20% of the total bill she could have gotten much more. Service was slow as they only had 1 wait staff but the food was very tasty and significantly better than traditional diners. Don't even know where to begin. We've been recurring customers for quite sometime. Decided to head in today with my family and have breakfast. Pulled in and saw there was a wait so my family stayed in the car and i got off to put our name down. When i approach Tony (who I'm assuming is the owner) taking down parties i express to him on how i have a 3 year old toddler that likes to run around and we'd like to sit in a booth so we can close him in so that doesn't happen. The response i got from Tony was the most unprofessional, unwelcoming response i have EVER gotten in any establishment ANYWHERE! He responds with, "well I'm going to tell you this right now, this is not a play ground and we are not going to have people running around this establishment"...really!!!!??? Obviously!!! We've never LET our child cause havoc anywhere but 3 year olds (especially ones with autism) can stim and sometimes it's a process to calm them down. Those who know, know the challenge it is. This was one of our favorite places in all of San Antonio and it is unfortunate how i was spoken to today. I stated to Tony that i was not his child to be talking to me like one. Three of us walked in on a weekday for lunch and were able to find seats (but it is tiny)! My husband had the pozole and my sister and I had meatloaf plates. My sister raved about the green beans and mashed potatoes on the side.The food was so good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are hungry, choose meatloaf! I really wanted to try this place and I had great expectations. This place sits about 24 people (Tiny for sure). We get there,open the door and the hostess tells me Across the restaurant to hold and wait outside. He came out 10 minutes later and asked if I still want to be on the waitlist...ah yes,Isn't that why we waited outside for him to put us on the waitlist? (It was only four of us btw).
