We just installed a generator, and the company we had contacted for propane on the day of the…read moreinstallation simply didn't show up - despite our being told that the propane would be delivered "first thing in the morning." They supposedly had an emergency. (See below about how fast they returned my call when I cancelled their service.) I contacted Waltz in a panic and, once they ascertained that we owned our tanks, they were able to get to us the same day and within a few hours and, after ensuring that everything was as it should be with our tanks, filled the tanks. I want to add that - as opposed to the former company, who did not respond to my emergency call inquiring as to where they were and ONLY called me back when I left a message saying they were no longer needed (and they called back seven minutes after *that* message) - each and every time I called Waltz & Sons the calls were answered promptly and courteously and my questions answered. Although I didn't appreciate the former company's "let them eat cake" and "we'll get back to you when it suits us" attitude, I consider that now that we are customers of Waltz & Sons, everything DEFINITELY ended up all for the best! I should add that the people who provided and installed our generator said that they have had a number of dealings with Waltz & Sons and recommended them highly. In addition, months before, I had compared prices for about six propane companies with Waltz coming in as the second least expensive and the company that never showed being least expensive, so paying a TINY BIT more to actually deal with a competent and efficient company that shows up has turned out to be well worth it.

Just letting everybody know that I recently cancel my account with dead River oil Co. in Biddeford…read moreMaine. There oil prices are anywhere from $.25-$.60 more per gallon than any place else in the area. They even charge $399 for a Annual service plan and tank sure. They also automatically charge me $221 for an easy Cap Price protection'. So that's $621 even before they make an oil delivery that charges $.25-$.60 more per gallon than anybody else. I call that highway robbery, irresponsible, and price gouging. I urge anyone reading this, to start saving money, and bring your business to Ranaldi oil in Scarborough. They are prices are upfront, reasonable, and responsible. You will notice that Dead River Oil company has huge buildings, warehouses, and other major infrastructure's , just to deliver your oil. Why is it that smaller companies can do the same thing without massive overhead that people like us have to pay for?

Run from this company! I've been trying for nearly a month to set up a time and date for them to…read morerepair my gas fireplace. A technician came in about a week, briefly glanced at the appliance, then went outside to see if I had fuel (I could have told him I did, I have a gas stove). He then talked about his dad for the next 20 minutes. They didn't have the part, so they had to order it. Of course I expected this to happen as soon as he returned to the business. Depending on who I talk to, they ordered the part just a week ago, or they still need to do so. The person responsible (Shannon something) never seems to be around to talk to. The various people I've interacted with have said they would have her call me back, but that has yet to happen. I received a bill (about $125) for the initial visit yesterday (did I mention he could have done as well on the phone?) I literally spent every day for two weeks trying to make something happen with this company (not to mention being placed on hold, and listening to a recorded message of how my call is important to them, and that they're committed to excellent customer service). I don't think I even want them delivering my fuel any more.

So as a widower whose wife used to handle the utilities I feel really taken advantage of by Eastern…read morePropane. I hate bills so I did a pre-buy in June for 2.05, paid in full. Then in July the association got an offer of 1.94 on a prebuy from Eastern. Since I had not signed the original contract they honored the price, but were really vague about how the credit would be applied and refused to mail me a check for the difference. If Mr Clement and Eastern need my $102 that bad u feel sorry for them. BUT IT GETS BETTER..,actually worse. Dead River approaches the association and offers 1.79 a gallon. This is a warning to read the prebuy contract(who does really)with Eastern. In a rude way I was told you're locked in...nothing we can do. Plus "we don't know how Dead River is doing it. Really. Either Dead River is a much smarter more efficient company, or Eastern essentially said too bad dummy. Great way to build a customer base. BUT WAIT I said that I wasn't feeling very warm and fuzzy with Eastern so I asked what happens if there is a balance at the end of the season. Now bare in mind I had already told the girl I would no longer be a customer next year. She said we will apply it to next year, but if I insisted they charge a .50 per gallon fee. So something I paid for gets docked for what? Greed I guess. So stay away from Eastern, cash...not the customer...is king.

This is a buyer beware. We have two large propane tanks. The only item we run off those propane…read moretanks as our generator. I was billed on January 16 for $758 because they filled both tanks then I get a bill today for $320 I know they haven't been back to refill so when I called it's because I didn't meet the quota of 190 gallons in the previous year so they pick a random number and charge you that, when I called she said it's in your contract which by the way I got in 2014. She sent the contract to me nowhere in there does it say specifically how many gallons you need to get per size of your tank per year to avoid this number that they pick out of the blue because that's also not written down in the contract. So beware they can pick numbers whatever numbers they want because they don't have a chart that says if your tank is this much, you must fill this much to avoid the rental charge. It's a really shitty company to deal with they just give you nothing but the OK sorry ma'am sorry ma'am, and they try to say that it's in their contract and their contract is so obtuse. It makes no sense! if you are considering getting a propane company make sure you ask about their rental fee if you don't get enough gallons. they don't know what they're talking about and they can't give you a concrete number don't use Eastern propane you'll be sorry.
