I've been with them for two winters now. BOTH of the winters had a point where they took me off of…read moreautopay for no reason and had to call me to find out where my payments were. This winter (to be fair, it was an exceptionally cold one) they let my tank empty twice. Actually, depending on how we're going to look at my third point, possibly three times. In mid February my tank was empty because they couldn't get to it. This had never been a problem before so I didn't think to fix it. Instead of leaving me a note and an explanation for why my tank was empty or a request to free up the tank, they just left. At that point I was furious because they'd done the "oops we took you off autopay" thing and then didn't even deliver. After a few days of having no propane I got home early enough to call them. Coincidentally they delivered that morning/afternoon but since my tank was empty they had to lock it until they could ensure that things were working with the fresh delivery. which meant I had to wait for someone to come back. (legally required, but shouldn't have been a problem.) This call took a while and it spanned a few different departments to get things straightened out. The last one I talked to involved me telling them to take me off of autopay, and that I'll call them when I need deliveries. The guy said that he could do that, and we even talked about how to switch the tank to another company. Last week my propane went out again. Since I'm moving at the end of the month I decided to just use electricity for my heat to finish off the month. They delivered today. Why did I get a delivery today? I'm still on autopay. This means that even if they were supposed to be monitoring my tank, they would have been about a week late. When I called they decided that they needed to talk to my landlord. I warned him that I gave them his number and he said that this has happened to two of his tenants in the past. I've been removed from their service twice due to incompetence. When I told them to take me off they didn't. The only upside to this company is that even when I've called, raging and swearing, they've managed to keep their cool and take it well. With all the problems I've had with them, I believe I've talked to at least 5 different people and the madder I am, the calmer they tend to be.

Just letting everybody know that I recently cancel my account with dead River oil Co. in Biddeford…read moreMaine. There oil prices are anywhere from $.25-$.60 more per gallon than any place else in the area. They even charge $399 for a Annual service plan and tank sure. They also automatically charge me $221 for an easy Cap Price protection'. So that's $621 even before they make an oil delivery that charges $.25-$.60 more per gallon than anybody else. I call that highway robbery, irresponsible, and price gouging. I urge anyone reading this, to start saving money, and bring your business to Ranaldi oil in Scarborough. They are prices are upfront, reasonable, and responsible. You will notice that Dead River Oil company has huge buildings, warehouses, and other major infrastructure's , just to deliver your oil. Why is it that smaller companies can do the same thing without massive overhead that people like us have to pay for?

They supposedly had an emergency. (See below about how fast they returned my call when I cancelled their service.) I contacted Waltz in a panic and, once they ascertained that we owned our tanks, they were able to get to us the same day and within a few hours and, after ensuring that everything was as it should be with our tanks, filled the tanks. I want to add that - as opposed to the former company, who did not respond to my emergency call inquiring as to where they were and ONLY called me back when I left a message saying they were no longer needed (and they called back seven minutes after *that* message) - each and every time I called Waltz & Sons the calls were answered promptly and courteously and my questions answered. Although I didn't appreciate the former company's "let them eat cake" and "we'll get back to you when it suits us" attitude, I consider that now that we are customers of Waltz & Sons, everything DEFINITELY ended up all for the best! I should add that the people who provided and installed our generator said that they have had a number of dealings with Waltz & Sons and recommended them highly. In addition, months before, I had compared prices for about six propane companies with Waltz coming in as the second least expensive and the company that never showed being least expensive, so paying a TINY BIT more to actually deal with a competent and efficient company that shows up has turned out to be well worth it.

just now We have been customers of Eastern Propane for about…read more7 years. Eastern is the best in the area for sure! This past weekend our propane tank decided to release pressure and it was a scary situation. Justin came right out and assessed the situation and explained what was happening, and assured us that we were not in any danger, thank goodness! He ended up taking the tank (by himself!), took pictures of the damage, and was back the next day with another tank. He definitely is an exemplary employee and deserves a 10 star rating!! All in all, Eastern is an excellent company.

So as a widower whose wife used to handle the utilities I feel really taken advantage of by Eastern…read morePropane. I hate bills so I did a pre-buy in June for 2.05, paid in full. Then in July the association got an offer of 1.94 on a prebuy from Eastern. Since I had not signed the original contract they honored the price, but were really vague about how the credit would be applied and refused to mail me a check for the difference. If Mr Clement and Eastern need my $102 that bad u feel sorry for them. BUT IT GETS BETTER..,actually worse. Dead River approaches the association and offers 1.79 a gallon. This is a warning to read the prebuy contract(who does really)with Eastern. In a rude way I was told you're locked in...nothing we can do. Plus "we don't know how Dead River is doing it. Really. Either Dead River is a much smarter more efficient company, or Eastern essentially said too bad dummy. Great way to build a customer base. BUT WAIT I said that I wasn't feeling very warm and fuzzy with Eastern so I asked what happens if there is a balance at the end of the season. Now bare in mind I had already told the girl I would no longer be a customer next year. She said we will apply it to next year, but if I insisted they charge a .50 per gallon fee. So something I paid for gets docked for what? Greed I guess. So stay away from Eastern, cash...not the customer...is king.
