The space is very truly a thrift shop--bit of everything everywhere in the main room, and it's very fun to walk around and look for little treasures! Kevin explained to me that he rearranges his shop pretty often (he cheekily calls the practice "funk shui") to get people's eyes on different items every time they come in. He tends to get his wares from estate sales, auctions, and considers himself a treasure hunter. And I must agree! Lots of treasures in Far Out, and I loved sifting through them. If you make your way in, you'll likely hear from Kevin that he's open to negotiation and bundling items for reasonable deals. He seems just to be genuinely excited to find cool items and give them new homes. And I appreciate that energy a lot. I came in looking, loosely, for some home decor as my husband and I outfit our home after moving back to Texas from Georgia. But nothing felt quite right on the decor side. But I saw some beautiful pieces and walked out of the store with a vintage book I was excited about. So I consider it a successful trip. :) Make a trip over to check out Kevin's treasures. Succulent Native made everything so easy and our succulent guru was incredibly knowledgable, kind, chill and so patient! They offered different neutral colored pots and had 3 different succulent variations for us to choose from. From there, our guru instructed us on how to repot the plants and how to set it up in its' new home with potting soil and decorative rocks.

Succulent Native is a plant boutique in Austin, Texas, specializing in succulents, cacti, and creative plant arrangements. Quite honestly, I never knew that there were so many permutations of succulents. I actually believe I might be able to keep a succulent alive since they require little maintenance. I learned from the store manager that they host succulent parties. That would be a cool way to spend time with family and friends. In addition, while they have some beautiful plants, some can be a bit pricey. With that said, there is a section of the store that has some reasonably priced smaller plants. There's a little something for everyone.

I purchased a Eurway buffet many years ago, and recently the slides in two of the drawers started…read moreto fail. I ordered several sets of drawer pulls online , but nothing would fit my drawers. I contacted Eurway and asked how I could replace these drawer pulls and they directed me to Collectic Home. I spoke to Joni Greeson on the phone and she was very helpful and understanding. I knew that this was a very unusual request and a long shot, but I didn't want to replace the whole buffet, so I thought this was the only feasible option. Joni invited me to come by Collectic Home and see if they could help. I brought in the drawer and an employee was able to hammer in a new rail in the drawer and measured to find the pulls needed, Joni gave me two sets of brand new pulls in the packaging and directed me through the showroom. I asked where I could pay for the pulls and she said that it was no charge, I could not believe it! The pulls fit perfectly and my buffet is functional again. Thanks again to Joni and her staff. And Sally knew what my custom drapes needed to be after spending 5 minutes in my home. Everyone who sees them comments, "those are SO you!" Their art-hanging and furniture placement is second-to-none. Julie and Sally rearranged things to make a wonderful party "flow," and the artwork is finally hanging with the right scale and groupings.
