This is a summary of my experience at Bear Valley Muffler & Automotive in November 2021. Fact: Dennis, the owner, crashed my vehicle in the parking lot and failed to notify me. That's right, the owner was involved in a hit and run with my vehicle. Opinion: If it happened to me it probably has happened to others and could happen again unless people are warned. Keep reading if you want the story, if not just be warned so this doesn't happen to you. My experience: I brought my vehicle in for a muffler repair. When I picked up my vehicle, it was parked close to the building but I didn't think much of it until I got home and could see fresh bumper damage. The proof: Dash camera. YouTube link - https://youtu.be/h8Ow-VeeAXc Video summary: It was obvious that it was a mistake as Dennis was parking he accidentally backed into a wall but this was a conscious mistake. After Dennis became aware that he crashed, he said some curse words and he moved forward and away from the wall before parking. The shady part: When I picked up my vehicle the business failed to mention that my vehicle was involved in an accident. They let me drive home hoping I wouldn't notice or be able to prove how the damage occurred. When I confronted Dennis about the damage and showed him the video he appeared shocked and agitated at the same time. I told him how much the repair estimate was and he didn't believe me. He offered to repair my vehicle however I told him I didn't trust him and needed to get the insurance companies involved. Ending: His insurance company ended up fixing my vehicle but it took almost 4 months for the entire process. Recommendation: Avoid having any repairs/services completed at this shop. Find an honest business with professional accountability. Install a dash camera. P.S. I was still charged full price for the original muffler service. read more

I needed exhaust work done to my 2017 truck because I changed my rear shackles. I was greeted professionally and spoke to Chad to get an idea if it was possible to make sure they can finally fix my space and hanger issue due to the rear leaf spring hitting my exhaust. He assured me that it could be done and a couple hours later as promised. Dennis, his dad did an awesome job. Great business and very happy that I was able to meet a great team. I brought my truck in to this shop on a recommendation from a friend of a friend approximately a year ago for a repair and was very happy with the service. Today, I returned to Bear Valley because I wanted an overall inspection on my truck. I am deaf, and because of this I can't hear if there are any kind of suspicious noises coming from my truck that I need to be aware of. Also, I wanted my brakes inspected for peace of mind. They conducted a road test on my truck and checked the brakes. When they notified me I was all clear and good to go they refused to take any money for this inspection. Talk about honesty. read more

Took my corvette here to get a set of new mufflers installed. The guy didn't even bother lifting the car to inspect it properly. He just bent down, looked underneath, and said, "Not interested". Well, with that attitude, I'm glad to not have you work on my car, and I'll inform others as well. Not sure how they have the high rating when they refuse a customer so abruptly like that. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS TO THEM!!Absolute Crooks!! I had them do work on our trucks for several years. They also took care of my Jaguar. My final straw with them was their "diagnosis" of a bad alternator which ended with me actually only needing a new battery. Story goes as follows: My car was towed to them on two separate occasions: first time, the car was dead AAA came & picked up. The owner calls me and explains how they've done all these tests on my car & it needs a new alternator. So $700+ later I have a new alternator. I drive my car home. Next morning car is dead, I have AAA pick it up again. AAA guy warns me since he was the one that picked the car up a week earlier that he thought my car only needed a new battery. He also recommended (Sterling Auto- my new mechanic & great service) but at the time I stuck by Bear Valley. My car gets towed back to Bear Valley & low and behold it needs a new battery which magically costs over $300... Are you serious?? I called and asked what kind of battery they were putting in my car. I looked up the same battery where Bear Valley purchased my battery and guess what.. It cost $119. I understand markup but this is ridiculous and at this point I was beyond suspicious. When I questioned the owners son he got indignant with me. I asked for my old alternator and he told me I couldn't have it. When I picked up my car, I requested the alternator again and told him my husband wanted to see it. I then took the alternator to Kragen and had it bench tested. Kragen certified that there was nothing wrong with the alternator. When I called Bear Valley back with my info. that nothing was wrong with my alternator & that I wanted my $700+ back they wouldn't do anything to make it right. They informed me "they" would switch the alternators out for me. Like I could trust them. They lied to me multiple times and flat stole from me!! $1000 later all my car needed was a battery... read more
