Yesterday I took my car in due to my brake light sensor went off. They could have told me to replace the break pads even after diagnostic inspection, but they were honest and told me it was the sensor and gave me the option whether or not to fix it. What a fantastic experience I just had today! I went to get a tire patched (from a pesky screw that decided to find my tire). After going to a neighboring tire shop first that said they couldn't patch it and just wanted me to buy a new tire, I went here to Big O. They said no problem and they could get it done in about an hour. Well like 30 minutes later it was done! I spoke with Christine and Gizmo and they were both super friendly and helpful. They were absolutely top notch as far as my customer experience and I promised Christine I would write a review. I would rate this place negative stars if that was an option. My situation is too long to document, so to not bore you, or waste anymore of my time; this is my honest feelings about this circus run by clowns. After my experience I have zero confidence and faith with this place. If you want to spend good hard earned money on tires, an alignment, and a TPS sensor; only to get your car back with other problems these are your guys. If you want stubborn jerks driving your car to and from the car port like crap, these are your clowns; they disrespect customer cars. I am supposed to have "free tire rotations" for the life of my tires, but I will be doing them myself because I don't want to expose my car or myself to crappy mechanics and unappreciative customer service. They discovered a part during the oil changed that needed to be replaced that day to avoid harming the engine. All of the stars aligned with the master tech knowing exactly what needed to be done, with the knowledge and experience he had with foreign car engines - since I have an Audi. Needed some maintenance service done to one of our cars and after some research decided on Big O Tires. Made the appointment online and the process was seamless. Had the oil and filter changed, air filter and cabin filter changed as well as all 4 tires rotated. The cost for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation was 69.99 and the filters ran 65.00 installed. This was a very good price based on my research. The person who helped me was the manager Gizmo Seevers. Gizmo is not the movie character from the Gremlins but instead a very helpful and well organized manager of the store. Gizmo had our car done in less than 1 hour. He also retained the air filters so that I can see the service was much needed. I am looking for someone I can trust to service our vehicles and I believe we have found that in Gizmo and Big O Tires. They earned my 5 star review. read more

The total costs of tires were slightly above average because they quoted me with the extended warranty and other unnecessary peace of mind stuff. This has been my goto place for tires, but they just screwed up my rims. Every single rim has markings from the impact gun dancing across the face. Paint scratched off each one and the caps. Also it looks like they stand on your rims in the street to seal the new beads. I live in a rural area on a dirt road and my poor car takes a beating. Usually when I arrive to Big O, I need a lot of services. That was the case in my last visit- I said please do every service except the AC... it didn't need as much as I thought, and it appears that another shop lied to me about my battery. I'll never cheat on you again Big O. So many of the services were already included because I am otherwise loyal, it saved me a lot of $$$! This location has a great GM and he personally helped me find a small, embedded nail that had given me a slow leak for months, and 2 shops couldn't find it. We had a great talk and he's very experienced. Plus his name is Gizmo, you know he was born to tinker with cars. He explained the services I truly needed, and gave me an honest breakdown of my cars health. Ended up spending a lot less than I expected. I left Big O with such piece of mind, I drove away with a big smile and a better working knowledge of how elevation and tire size impact tire pressure. My car drives great now. Had a front right tire leak in which I thought was going to be just a quick patch job. Found out that it was much worse. Gizmo texted me photo's of where the actual damage was coming from, which were actual tears in the side wall of the tire. Had went online and pick the tire for purchase, Compatible $98.99 --- quote $149.40. I arrive at Big O Tires, show my phone with the tire quote...hence why I never do business with Big O Tires --- and knowing the response... " Oh, I'm sorry but I do not have that tire in stock, but I can order it for you and have it by tomorrow." How convenient is that... Now, what's the next cheapest tire for my vehicle? (I'm still going to my tire place to purchase my 4 tires....the ones I'm happy with and priced right) That will be "$157.99..... Out the door $214.44 How can you NOT HAVE cheap tires in stock?.. Knowing customers won't see it online and want to purchase it. Just to be told, " I don't have that in stock, but I can order it for you and have it tomorrow." Then sell you a "HIGHER Price" tire... Earlier this week I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with someone named jacob whose incompetence and inability to let me finish a sentence almost cost me $400. I blew a tire and went to the closest location off cal oaks and Chad who was very nice and accommodating called this location to ask about my warranty on my tires. They only told him about my back tires warranty so I called to ask about the front tires and spoke to jacob. He was very short with me, cut me off on almost everything i was trying to say. I tried to explain to him that last year i had my alternator replaced and 2 tires at the same time and that it might be under another name and he refused to believe that, said it was impossible that it didn't happen here, i'm mistaken blah blah blah. Believe it or not i do remember where i put down almost $1000 on my car so i told him that sometbing isn't right and I am going to look into this. Soon after the manager called me back and said he was listening to our phone call and wanted to apologize because it was under a different name and he found the records for it and sent them to me. The manager was very kind and helpful and I appreciate him very much because if he hadn't looked into it i would eventually have to replace those tires for full price. I'm not sure if jacob is just smooth brained or he assumed i was just a silly stupid girl who didn't know anything about her car and decided he did not need to speak to me with respect but I did not appreciate that on an already stressful day. read more

I came in so stressed because I was handling a tire that apparently "wasn't fixable" according to my car dealership that I had seen that same day. I came in expecting to spend so much money (that I didn't have) on a new tire because it seemed like I had no other choice. I went into this Big O Tires, and they were some of the nicest people I met. I talked to Mike, asking if I need to buy two tires to even things out, he didn't lie to me or try to upsell me. He told me "your tire looks great, i would feel guilty telling you to replace both." After a close look at my tire, they found two nails and were able to patch it no problem. Keep in mind, I saw my Hyundai Service dealership THAT SAME DAY. They didn't repair or fix a single thing on my tire, I'm not even sure they looked at it fully. Mike and Gizmo helped decrease my price and only charged me $35 for the repair. They even stayed opened past their close time just to patch my tire up for me. And said they wouldn't close until they knew I was taken care of. I know this is a long review, but it's scary being a girl and having to deal with mechanics and dealerships because everyone is constantly trying to upsell you, overcharge you, or lie to you saying something else is broken. I had my oil changed a day earlier at Jiffy Lube. I asked to get my brakes checked. The manager told me I needed front and back breaks and possibly rotors for the front as well. I let him know I would think about it. Today I had an appointment with Socalstyle but was told I had to wait 2-3 hours. I didn't have the time and left. I stopped by Pep Boys and again was told I had to leave the car for 2-3 hours. On my way home I saw Big O tires and decided to stop in. I was greeted by Tony G., the assistant manager. I told home about my experience at J.L. and he said, "let's get your car up on the rack and have my mechanic check the breaks right now" Talk about fast service! I waited for about 15 minutes and Tony asked me to come out to my car so I could see for myself that all my brakes were still good! (WHAT!!!) With brake gages in hand, Tony showed me exactly where my brake wear was at and yes; there was plenty of pads left on all of them. He also noticed that my tires needed to be rotated, which was done at no charge! I also met the Gizmo (manager) and thanked him for his honest and trustworthy business practices. Super nice guy. This place is your typical price gouging tire place. I caught a flat tire and this place was close to where I was staying for the weekend. I called ahead and they said it would be about 1.5 to complete. I dropped off my car when it wasn't busy, yet it took about 3.5 hrs from drop off to pick up. First phone call, the gentleman confirmed I needed a new tire.. $160. A bit high but, fine. I needed it to get to my destination later that day. 30 mins later, another phone call telling me I need more work that costs $1100! I questioned the work and it turns out it's nothing urgent but "highly recommended" to get it done. I told them I'll take it to my auto place in LA. Another hour later, they talked me into getting an alignment... $140. So my visit was $300 total. Did the work really need to take almost 4 hours to complete?? No. Was it expensive? Yes, but I'm sure that's how they make their sales. Will they shock you with additional "needed" auto repair? YES, especially if you don't have car knowledge (like most women). So ladies, be careful. Bring your brother if you can because they're trying to make money off of you. 2 stars are for the new tire and improved alignment. read more
