Time to fuel up before the hike & sightings in town. Dana Point has friendly business owners & staff. The coffee was served fast and tasted excellent at $7.50 a cup & $1.50 for added Oat Milk. You can sit outside & do your research on your laptop with free WiFi with purchase. It's downtown so it tends to get noisy but nonetheless it's worth your time. Parking is free and easily available! Enjoy & visit the Arches at Bluff TopTrail just a few steps away, you'll Yelp me later after u take those pictures with the amazing views!

Latte Fuel For The Mind, Inspiration For The Soul. LFG! Bear Coast Coffee is a trendy and cozy little coffee shop located in a plaza at Dana Point. They specialize in roasted coffee and tea as well as pastries. Interior decor was cute with huge bear on their east wall. Indoor and outdoor seats were comfortable with relaxing atmosphere. I came after exploring Dana Point. I was warmly greeted by Dylan, barista. After I skimmed their coffee menu, I asked for a Hot Latte x WM. I liked it. Overall, BCC is a cool coffee house with chill atmosphere and staff. I recommend you visit.

Great, local spot with shops nearby to walk around and enjoy your coffee. This weekend I went with a Lavender iced Matcha Latte. Very fresh and tasty! The menu is relatively small but plenty of syrup choices. There is some seating inside if you wanted to work or read.

My go-to spot on Friday mornings, yes, yes! Once a week I treat myself to a chance of scenery and a little walk about before I settle into my home office for the day. I love Bear Coast ("The Bear") because they open at 6am! Yes! The early bird in me can get up naturally between 5 and 5:30, get myself out the door, and get here in time to be one of the first customers of the day. Arrive early and you can still purchase a piping hot blueberry muffin! My husband also loves their avocado toast; served until noon, so snag it before then. I don't actually drink coffee, but they have an affordably priced tea at $3.75. They use Kilogram tea, which is also sooooo good. Better than anything that Starbucks or any of the major chains use. The only downside is that during the day sometimes, it CAN get a little busy inside of people perched up with their laptops. There have been a few instances where I want to sit down, but there are people inside and out who don't appear to be moving any time soon. Normally I just grab my tea and stroll the harbor, but sometimes the legs need a rest. 2024: 99/100

Cute coffee spot! Service was quick. Ordered a regular latte with oat and it was good. They have outdoor seating and also dog friendly.

So I got a chance to try this place and I got a fresh cup of the grizzly from Brazil more of a medium to dark roast coffee. They do not roast on site, but do roast in a warehouse in San Clemente. Cool little place. Located right across the street from Maison on Amber Lantern.

Located not to far from the beach, this chic and modern cafe brings so much joy to not only the regular customers but also new comers with bright smiles and energy from the baristas, unique specialty drinks, adorable merchandises and attractive baked goods and fruit oatmeal. I personally had to rent the cafe for work recently and the owner was very kind and flexible with the accommodation that I was forever thankful. The staff were also incredible on multitasking taking care of the customers and my team at the same time, which was pretty impressive. During down time, I ordered Vanilla Nutmeg Latte that was recommended by one of the baristas and it was such a divine. They were out of ham and cheese croissant so I got the almond pastry instead and it was a perfect harmony with my latte. There are seating inside and outside of the cafe so if you want to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze at cool cafe with amazing drinks and baked goods, check this place out.

3.5 stars for coffee! Really liked that the Mocha was not too sweet at all. Unfortunately it was a bit grainy when drinking so it would get caught in my throat. This location is super cute and love the outside area. Small inside area and ok service, would come back if in the area!

I like this place! It's small but cute. I had the matcha latte and the pistachio croissant. The pistachio croissant was super tasty but I wish it was warmed up but that's okay! The matcha latte was good. Not too sweet but also not too bitter. I got it with almond milk. I also liked how it actually tasted like matcha (some places overdo it with the milk) The service was quick and the baristas were kind. I'd come back!

Don't be fooled by the TikTok aesthetic!!

Would not recommend getting a matcha nor coffee. Very watered down and over priced! I was very excited to try this place but the baristas were just rude and made the environment very uncomfortable. I would never take the time to make a review but the drinks and service were such a disappointment I couldn't help but make one. #notyounghoapprove

All the baristas make solid coffee, and the environment they create is so welcoming and friendly that l'm willing to drive 30 minutes every weekend to see them! Shout out Morgan, Milaina, Adam, Naomi, and Jamie!

I arrived at this place by accident (wanted to try a place nearby, didn't feel it, and on my way…read moreback to the car I saw this French bakery). I'm typically suspicious of French cafes, they never really hit the spot, and not because I try them with the expectation of getting a true French style product, but I'm just very often disappointed by the general quality. I'm so glad I gave this a go. We tried both savory and sweet pastries, and they were all absolutely delicious. To the point that I ordered a few more to go. The croissant with cream and berry was gorgeous, not overly sweet, which is sadly so rare, and the feta cheese and mushroom pastry was amazing. The person behind the counter was also super sweet and helpful. If I were a local, this would be my almost daily spot.

One thing I really appreciated was that they opened at 5:30 a.m., since many coffee shops in the area don't open until 8-10 a.m. or sometimes even later. The location is right off PCH, making it a convenient stop, although the parking lot is very small and I could see it getting crowded if there were a long drive-through line. We initially parked and walked up to the door thinking we could order inside, but found out that orders are only taken through the drive-through that early. The ordering process was quick, and the barista was friendly and efficient. The drinks were decent overall, with a good coffee flavor, but nothing that really stood out. One thing that surprised me was the cost of the add-ons. My sister changed her milk to oat milk and added a pump of hazelnut, and both were an extra $1 each. The hazelnut flavor tasted good, but the additional charges felt a little steep. Overall, it was a convenient stop with solid coffee, especially if you need something early in the morning, but the pricing for customizations would make me think twice before ordering drinks again.

It's so cozy, old timey and just feels like fall, I have been wanting to try it for the longest time and I'm just so disappointed I couldn't even finish my drink because it was that bad. I ordered an iced matcha latte with pumpkin cold foam (something I make at home and have ordered at other cafes countless times). I'm so sad to say this drink just wasn't good at all, the "pumpkin" cold foam tasted like orange flavored medicine and left a terrible after taste in my mouth. I'm honestly not sure if they accidentally put the wrong cold foam or if that's actually what it tastes like. There was absolutely zero cinnamon, pumpkin or any type of spiced flavor. As for the matcha, I also couldn't taste that at all. It was pretty much just a cup of citrusy/medicinal flavored milk:( I really wanted to go back inside and ask for an exchange but it was busy so I just took my loss on almost $8.

They have cookies with fillings! And also some shakes and "dirty drinks" (flavored sodas). They have classic cookie options on the menu all the time and several cookie types that rotate weekly. I purchased two cookies and a drink. They have a couple tables inside but I decided to take the cookies home and enjoy the drink on the road. The two cookies I chose were the chocolate chip and the cookies & cream plus the Coco-Loco as my drink. The Coco-Loco is best described as a coconut Coke. It was fantastic, way better than I expected. I appreciated the finely ground ice in the bottom portion of the cup. My pet peeve is when places fill the cup to the top with ice and your drink is gone in three sips but here they provide just enough to keep it cold and refreshing. The cookies are presented in their own box and are large. They are soft cookies but ever-so-slightly crisp on the outside with soft fillings. The chocolate chip cookie had a filling that was essentially chocolate chip cookie dough. It was incredibly delicious and I would definitely get this one again. The cookies & cream had what tasted like Oreo frosting inside and was very good. It was a bit messier as it has crumbles on top and also the weight of the filling caused the soft cookie to fall apart, which one must be conscious of when eating these cookies. It's actually easier to eat when it's in a few pieces. Being a cookie-lover, I find what they have here to be better than what you get at other well-known cookie stores.
