First off, this is a nut free location there's no outside food or beverages allowed. Please respect the businesses wishes. Now with that, it's my first time visiting. I found it to be very pleasant and relaxing. The order taker with dark brown hair was super friendly with helping me pick my first drink, and he showed me all the signature drinks. He asked for my name and then instructed me how to pick up my order, which is on the opposite side of the bar area near the barista. They should call your name. It's kinda loud overall so you'll have to pay attention and listen We got a traditional vanilla iced latte as well as the coconut cream cold brew. Both were delicious. They use pebble ice. I'm generally not a huge fan just because it waters the drinks down a lot quicker. But it was delicious nonetheless very thick coconut cream on top. I only wish that the iced drinks were a lot bigger. But that would probably throw off the milk to espresso ratio. Outside, there's plenty of seating both couches and patio chairs. Inside cool vibes. I heard there's Wi-Fi but I did not use it. Really funky cool bathrooms. Overall, we had a great experience. I would definitely come back. I think prices are in line with everything else in town. You can opt for your drink for here which comes in glass or to go. We wanted to go in case we decide to get up early and go walk around. Street parking although there's some municipal lots. Really beautiful cafe with bar seating and tables inside and outside for working/catching up. I decided to try this spot out after strolling around the shops, and even though I loved the vibe and the staff was super sweet, the coffee itself was not good. I ordered a muffin and the hua kai which is their cold brew with house coconut foam. The muffin was good. Perfect for pairing with a cup of coffee, but unfortunately I really didn't like the hua kai. The cold brew tasted almost sour and attempting to mix in some of the coconut foam did not help me offset the taste. I hate to throw away anything edible (and expensive) but I really didn't like their cold brew and could not get myself to finish it. read more

There's a lot of weird hate for this coffeehouse located along the main drag of Avenida Del Mar, mostly because it's a "nut-free" spot. Well, so what. Go get your nuts somewhere else. I ordered a pretty fancy coffee drink and could not taste the coffee in it, but it was DELICIOUS. It was an Iced Salted Brown Butter Maple Latte. They create their own blends, so next time I go, I think I will get something like an Americano to fully appreciate the coffee flavor. The space is beautiful, I just wish it had good coffee. I have gone on multiple occasions and ordered something different every time. I once ordered a "seasonal latte" and it was $9! It did not taste like a $9 latte. I tried one of their regular flavors and it just missed the mark, I couldn't finish it. For a place that is Hawaiian themed, I would think they would have flavors like coconut and macadamia, but their whole store is nut free. Really missed the mark for me. read more

I have tried their green juice also and I would totally recommend it. When I walked up to order they wouldn't let me order saying they closed at 3:30...mind you it was 3:30 on the dot. I get it I guess but considering my husband literally just placed his order and was waiting for his drink I thought they would have taken that into consideration. What a spacious coffee shop. So much seating both indoors and outdoors. Located on the busy street of San Clemente Village. A great place to walk around and stop for coffee here. They serve freshly baked goods as well. The cold brew I got was a bit sour for my taste but I did finish it after adding some whole milk. The service was ok. It's a beautiful space - expansive, colorful and tasteful. The staff is chill and kind. But the affogato is NOT what I thought it would be. Although they do offer decaf espresso (yay!) for my affogato, their ice cream was a tiny portion. The ratio of espresso to ice cream was off. Wasn't too happy with this since it cost $7.50 and came in the smallest cup (probably smaller than a pup cup). It seems though that the other drinks were great so maybe I'll try those next time. This is not a one-time issue--it's a pattern after multiple visits. The space itself is beautiful. The interior design is well done, and the location is great. Unfortunately, the customer service consistently undermines the entire experience. Interactions feel dismissive and rigid, with little to no effort to accommodate simple, reasonable requests. Instead of listening or showing basic consideration, the response tends to be defensive and unhelpful. At this point, it feels like customer experience is not a priority. Simply a beautiful coffee shop on Del Mar Ave in San Clemente. You have a nice set up inside with chairs facing outside where you can enjoy the street view of Del Mar and people watch. Seats and ambiance is great and just a great job when it comes to the aesthetics. They also have a simple yet good list of items on their menu. I was craving something more espresso forward so I got the Flat White. Now I see where this place gets a lower rating. Service is definitely not warm and there's just something that makes you feel like "what did I do wrong" after you place your order. They are very adamant about closing on time which I believe was 3:30pm but I was here way before and didn't plan to stay. The drink itself was very good, I certainly enjoyed it and I personally asked for the porcelain cup because I like the balance better of espresso being not so far in the bottom as a paper cup. Walking around in Downtown San Clemente we decided to stop in and have some coffee. We placed our order and asked if there was something to go along with the coffee. The only option was a banana bread so we decided to get one. We sat down and our drinks were ready in 5 minutes. So far so good. We had barely had our first sips when we were told to leave as they were closing. They could have told us this when we were playcing our order and told them it was 'for here'. I ordered a simple americano, and was pleased to find they had hemp milk as an alternative. I ordered a medium, not sure about their sizes but a medium is a little smaller than what I thought, looks more like a small. I was taken a bit by the price at almost $7.00 for my americano, seems like latté prices to me, but after taking that first sip, I realized we'd have a problem here, their coffee is REALLY GOOD! Not sure I'd make it a daily habit, maybe every (other) day... Employees are all fantastic, friendly and welcoming, oh and the moody vibe here is pretty unique. Many places to sit, relax and hang out, meet some friends. I'd say it's a winner! The customer service was subpar--when we placed our order, the barista questioned our choices like we'd never ordered coffee before. It was awkward and unnecessary. As for the coffee... NASTY. Overpriced and terrible tasting. Easily some of the worst we've had in town. We also tried a blueberry muffin, which was HORRIBLE --the bottom completely fell off when we picked it up, and all the blueberries had sunk to the bottom like it had been baked wrong. Came here with family on the 4th of July looking to enjoy some coffee and pastries and left wondering how this place has any regulars. First red flag: the vibe. The staff barely looked up when we walked in, let alone offered a friendly "hello." We ordered small lattes that somehow cost almost $9 each (did they milk the beans by hand?). Oh, and if you're hoping for almond or other nut-based milks, think again. They only offer soy and oat milk because they're a "nut-free establishment." Okay, fine... until it gets truly nutty. We sat down with our drinks and opened our pastries (that we brought from another shop), enjoying a quiet moment and a laugh with family. A staff member marched over and told us we had to either put away our dessert or leave because my danish had sliced almonds on it. Seriously? We weren't smearing almond butter on the furniture, just sitting at a table, drinking coffee. My brother muttered, "That's a nutty rule," and the staffer grumbled something rude under her breath as she walked away. That was the cherry on top of the passive-aggressive sundae. We have gone here as regular customers since they opened. We have always loved their coffee. We get either cappuccino's or lattes. We are very disappointed they now only serve their coffee in paper cups. They have lost are business. We won't go back unless they bring back the porcelain cups.
