Finally was able to come in here before work one morning, and was pleasantly surprised with how cool the interior was. I had a delicious maple latte and a lemon poppyseed muffin. Staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating area to relax and read (or work). I'll be back.
The ambiance of this place is flat out incredible. Open doors everywhere and it makes you feel submersed in the San Clemente weather. It's flat out awesome. As far as the food goes, it's a burrito that is decent. Nothing crazy and a few other options. They do have some treat options as well. The service is usually pretty good. Definitely a solid spot. Best place to grab a coffee , look at cool cars and let my boys run wild . We usually come hang out here, Saturday mornings . A lot of people may not know this, but they have some pretty good breakfast burritos!
Reminds me of the Motoring Club in west LA, except that the coffee at the Motoring Club is 10x better. $6.50 for an iced oat milk latte -- I can appreciate that they do not up charge for milk substitutions.

Parking was limited, there's a small lot or street parking. The interior decor both inside and outside was so cute. It's definitely a great place to hangout, but the coffee didn't live up to the hype. Vanilla bean latte was way too milky and sweet, lacking coffee flavor. Cute spot to see once, but wasn't worth the hype.

The coffee and matcha were terrible, especially for the price ($10 for a matcha latte that had no real matcha taste or even the mint taste that was stated on the menu). Would I return? Sure.. to check out the cars and maybe hang out but I wouldn't return just for the drinks.

A family friendly car themed cafe. Coffee is great and the vibes are spot on. Great for automotive lovers and non automotive lovers alike. They have a sand pit in the back outdoor seating area for the kids. Fair amount of interior seating and the decorations are very nice. People are very nice here. They have their own beans as well being the dark horse and the apex both of which are to my liking. Not to mention the motor oil esque can they come in. Definitely worth making a trip.

One thing that really makes this coffee spot stand out is the cars. It feels less like a café and more like a small gathering place for people who appreciate automotive culture. From classic Japanese legends to timeless vintage builds, every visit feels different depending on what's parked outside. The atmosphere has a very authentic "cars & coffee" vibe -- relaxed, nostalgic, and full of conversations between people who genuinely love driving and old machines. The classic Datsun and Skyline parked here today already made the visit worth it for me. Hopefully next time I'll get lucky enough to see -- and photograph -- even more iconic classics.
The vibes were emaculate. The food was strong. The cappuccino and latte were weirdly watery which surprising given how the place felt, Since we came here for the coffee, giving it a 3. The interior could not have been done better. We were passing through on our way to San Diego while it was raining.
I attended their 2nd day open. Unfortunately it was raining but the interior was beautifully decorated from the furniture to the books they choose to paint scheme to the counters. The 3 cars on display include a Ford GT, Porsche 996 and a BMW. They have a sand box and play space for kids in the back and they sell merch as well. Unfortunately the merch was extremely over priced, we're talking $52-$100 a piece for shirts/hoodies. The coffee which should be the main star was also over priced. An IVL with whole milk cost me $8+. Also the latte was extremely tart almost like someone over extracted it. But coffee is a subjective flavor and I could see they use a great machine. That said, they really need to improve their consistency and tasting profile if they want to be a hit after the hype wears off. Service overall was solid and friendly. Would I go back with a friend, yes. Did I enjoy the main star of the show, the coffee? No.
Overall: Wouldn't come back unless they had better drinks and service. Drinks: 7.5/10. I got the camber iced, it was good but nothing amazing. Food: 9/10. We got the breakfast burrito, which is now being used in a lot of coffee places, it's delicious. The butter croissant was alright, good not great. 7/10. Ambiance: Easy 10/10, huge inside lots of seating, cool cars and even a kids area. Staff: 7/10, the girl ringing us up seemed annoyed and wasn't that friendly. For the food, they just yell your name and walk around, same with calling drinks at the bar. It's not that hard to go the extra step to hand out table numbers to avoid unnecessary yelling. Parking: 3/10. It's San Clemente so parking always is horrible and you end up driving in circles to find a spot.

It is rare that a coffee shop is amazing in all aspects of service, food and ambiance. I guess this place is an exception! Upon walking to the counter, the nice barista greeted me and was kind enough to suggest some options to me since it was my first time there. I ended up getting maple latte (half sweet). My drink was ready in less than 5 minutes and it was prepared in a cute ceramic cup. Lovely! The ambiance is amazing and cool! For a car lover such as myself this place is a heaven! There is a nice patio in the back with lots of benches. This is such a great concept. Parking is limited but that is expected! read more

I've been wanting to visit and finally made it while in San Clemente at the Cars & Coffee. Great corner location at what used to be a gas station and garage. It's a beautiful cafe with great design and 3 cars showcased. There's both a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. The servers were super friendly and helpful. The long was long, but moved well and it didn't take long to get my order. The coffee was great quality and our pastries were delicious. read more
Cool open space with a unique automotive theme that car enthusiasts will appreciate. Repurposed from a small car dealership, the coffee shop is full automotive details and a few cars on displays, which I believe are on rotation, that make it a fun place to hang out. There are a few food options available. The breakfast burrito was decent, with well cooked eggs and hash browns. The salsa had good flavor, but the crema consistency was a bit too thick that it just glooped when trying to pour it on. The drinks generally had a bit too much ice and became watered down fairly quickly if left sitting. While there are stronger coffee or matcha spots if you're looking purely for drinks, the novelty of the automotive theme gives this place its charm. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and it's family and dog friendly. The biggest drawback is probably the parking. For a place that'll attract car enthusiasts, the lot is surprisingly small and street parking is limited. It's located on a busy road, so finding a spot can be challenging. read more

I stopped by Petrol Club Coffee and tried the iced mint matcha, and it was so refreshing! The mint flavor was subtle and gave the matcha a really nice twist without overpowering it. It was smooth, refreshing, and the perfect drink for a warm day. Definitely a great spot to grab a coffee or matcha! Such a cute place to hang! They even sell amazing ribeyes for you to take home and cook. read more

I got their matcha latte and it was subpar and overpriced in my opinion. The flavor was grassy & bitter and it was a bit milky. The price is also quite steep especially for the quality. However, I do appreciate having no upcharge on alternative milks. Ambiance & service were very nice though. I appreciate the thought put into the space & layout. Very well executed and can see why it's always so packed. However, due to the prices with the quality in mind, I will probably not return. read more

Folks, This morning, I enjoyed my first visit to Petrol Club which is in downtown San Clemente. The owners put together a charming retreat. Although taking your time in house to sip (highly recommend), patrons can grab a quick coffee and boogie on. Given you're in search of more than coffee, one can partake in breakfast, or dive in headfirst to imbibe in morning treats (pastries.) BTW: They're open until 5pm so who says it must be considered as only a "breakfast" sandwich or breakfast burrito. Call it brunch - trust me, they won't mind. I also noticed a few nonfood items for purchase as well. Some of which is aptly modeled on their website. Wonderful place to just hang, bone up on Porsche books or enjoy some very cool rides on display. Rj PS: Thanks for reading my review. In case you're wondering. Very cute place friendly service but the drinks were not good. My matcha was 8 which is on the higher side. We also tried the vanilla bean latte which was very watery. Overall I think it was nice pit stop but will not be back. read more

This place nails that perfect blend of coffee and cars! The interior is stunning, rugged, and industrial-chic, with gorgeous metal, leather, and wood details everywhere. It's a wide-open space that feels both raw and refined, and the back patio is a hidden gem. Oh, and the coffee? Actually delicious. I got a flat and had to leave my car down the street. I am so glad I ran into this gem. I grew up loving cars, so I was floored when I walked up. The staff was super friendly who created great conversation. I ordered the salted maple signature latte and it was so good. Super well balanced and I just loved the ice. I know that that's a weird thing to rate, but it truly makes a difference! I saw the owner set up his laptop and work. When he saw that there was limited seating, he gave up his barstool. Every time he would see someone looking for somewhere to sit, he would find somewhere for them to sit. I thought that was fucking awesome. I don't live nearby but I would definitely make the drive out to this location read more
