A recent Yelp Elite Event was held in Carlsbad. I joined other Elites in the trip to San Diego County. We stayed in a hotel and had coffee the next morning in the beautiful City of San Clemente. I enjoy going to the pier and grabbing a drink at Bear Coast Coffee Cafe. It's in a prime location and very popular. My friend, Te-see, treated me to a Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk. It was perfect with a nice mild flavor. The menu includes Americano, Espresso, Cappuccino, Chai Tea, Lemonade, Matcha drinks, and breakfast sandwiches & burritos. They also sell their own brand of roasted coffee beans. You may purchase in person or on their website. I've driven by this spot many times and was glad I finally got to try the Latte. I visited San Clemente over the Labor Day weekend and this coffee shop is directly across the street from the Amtrak train stop. I went there and decided not to get coffee or tea. They also sell cold pressed juice. I got a juice. Inside is very small but there is a little bit of seating outside of the coffee shop. The service was fast and friendly. I took some pictures to give you an idea of the place. I would definitely go back there. It's conveniently located across the street from the beach walking distance. I love that!

Visited this place with some friends! I got an iced maple matcha, my friends got an iced latte and a cold brew. The wait was long which it usually is but the baristas were talking to each other alot and taking their time which wasn't great service. I was surprised my matcha with oatmilk came out to $10 and then they forgot my syrup and had to go back since I paid for syrup. They also had people they knew come in and made their drinks before people who ordered before them which again I don't think that's great customer service. Cold brew and coffee was good and no complaints with those. The shop is so nice and located right across from the beach! I do hope they can have better costumer service especially when it's busy.

Matcha was good quality and not pre-mixed, so you can determine the level of sweetness and which dairy or milk product you want used. Loved their cute whimsical designs on their paper cup sleeve holders.
Spotted this coffee shop on our early morning walk to the pier. Very clean minimalist atmosphere inside and staff are sweet, friendly and know the locals (they recognized a few families ahead of me in line). Their menu is not extensive, but they do offer seasonal drink flavors. There is a small pastry case in front next to the cashier as well as food menu. We tried the Vanilla Nutmeg Latte (highly recommend), Horchata Latte and Americano iced versions. Coffee was smooth and well balanced. The Americano was strong but not bitter. We ordered the Morning Bun and Matcha Pistachio Croissant, both light and flaky. Wonderful service. Will come again to try the food options.
Drinks: The coffee was so good, they had a lot of fun coffee specials when we went. It seems like some of them are seasonal but the mixtures were unique! Service: Everyone was literally so nice, in such a good mood, and seemed so happy. They knew a lot of people, the locals. But it felt homie! Inside: The inside was so cute. They had a little merch area and the stuff was so cute. They have a decent amount of tables too! It's so cute in there. Outside: It's beautiful outside. They have a few tables!
Good coffee located across from the beach and pier. Partner really liked the taste of it Service people who are nice and efficient. Not really much else to ask for.
Just had to update, got coffee this very sleep deprived morning and I'm telling ya, I think this place has the nicest baristas ever! So welcoming and cheerful every time I come in. Coffees steller too, homemade almond milk tops it off!
No happy hour specials in Football Mondays . Great ocean view for sunset dinner or a snack before dinner. The server was friendly and attentive.
Bear coast was my go to pre/post surf coffee. Conveniently located beach side for easy access. I was nervous it'd be super touristy and compromise quality, but it was actually really good quality. The workers are awesome as well. Chatting up all the customers, having a good time. The interior is nice. No frills, homey, and cozy!
Having spent the day at the beach, my partner and I were looking for a quick pick me up before the train came. Conveniently located in front of the station, Bear Coast Coffee seemed like the best option. The service was fast, despite there being a really long line. The coffee itself though was nothing overly special. A lot of the flavor sank to the bottom immediately and despite many good stirs, failed to completely incorporate. The espresso itself was not strong and tasted a little watered down.
The coffee itself isn't great but the staff were soooo nice and made the experience coming in worth it. If you need a little pick me up while you're at the beach, this is definitely a great spot! Plus they have water if you need to fill up and hydrate.
Bear West Coast Coffee House is one of two independent coffee shops along the beach area. It's cute with merchandise, the service is nice, and they carry an "Orange Blossom" seasonal flavor that reminded me of an orange popsicle. Overall, I liked the ambiance, but the coffee wasn't strong enough for me--especially the cold brew. I should had added a shot. The menu option is also limited. read more

I got the Gingerbread latte with the seasonal foam and while it didn't taste like gingerbread, it was still good. I'll stick to my vanilla nutmeg next time. Great spot situated right in front of the pier perfect for a pick me up before your pier walk. Staff is always so friendly and informative on the menu. read more
We had just finished lunch but I really needed a caffeine fix. I saw Bear Coast earlier and since we were walking past, why not stop in! It's a great little shop that has a lot of seating! Friendly workers and greeting! I ordered a horchata latte which had a great flavor with a touch of cinnamon. Some places, the flavor can be overpowering, and you can't taste the coffee. I love that they roast their own beans and I bought the Grizzly for tomorrow morning. I'm sure it's going to be great since since the latte was delicious! Needed some energy after walking along the pier on a hot day and ordered their Lavender Caramel latte. I didn't enjoy the taste and flavors were barely there. This is a friendly little coffee shop just steps away from the San Clemente pier. Its the perfect place to get your coffee fix while on the beach, or for my an iced black tea. If you're lucky you can get a seat and people watch while you enjoy your beverage. The line may be long at times but the fast and friendly employees willhave you out in no time. read more

We visited this coffee shop while on our drive to Los Angeles, first things first I have no idea where to park. The coffee shop is located right in front of the pier and I was extremely surprised at the amount of people there were maybe because it's summer?? I was able to get dropped off right in the front while I waited for my coffee, but beware the parking is crazy!! But besides that this coffee shop is an amazing . It is friendly, fast and delicious. I had the vanilla latte.nutmeg latte and 10/10! I loved that there's seating outside to just people watch! read more

Such a cute coffee shop. Service was fast and very helpful. Clean store but has little indoor seating (lots of seats outside!) I went with the Vanilla Nutmeg Latte. It was okay to me, coffee itself was good, but I didn't feel like the vanilla or nutmeg were potent enough for me to taste. Maybe it's supposed to be more subtle, but I was looking for more of those flavors in the drink. Still, a great experience overall and I'd try another drink to see if I like something else better! :) read more

A great location right next to the pier, this coffee shop has some great lattes, especially creative seasonal options like cherry. They have such lovely baristas even early in the morning that I enjoy chatting with. You can tell they have regulars and I hope to become one myself! My caramel lavender latte was delish and just the right sweetness. They have seating inside and some tables in front to watch the incoming trains and beach goers. read more

Great location. It's right along the beach so you get awesome views of the San Clemente Pier. The staff were nice. The inside is small but there are more tables outside. I was a little disappointed in the coffee. We ordered an iced vanilla nutmeg latte. It had a sour taste to it and not much flavor. This spot is convenient but I don't think I'd go out of my way for the coffee. read more

This place had a vibe. The music was great, and the service was phenomenal. The girls behind the counter were serving drinks and interacting with everyone. You could tell they love what they do. The coffee was great. The iced vanilla nutmeg latte is excellent for a hot day. read more

Is this a good place to sit down and meet with a tutor?
I wouldn't say so, it's a very small beachfront property. There are a few small places to sit however, and if you can find a spot maybe. But even then you'll hear everyone.
I'm huge on coffee but I also like to try something new and different, any takes on ice coffees or ice teas here?
I love their cold brew! It's an iced coffee drink you can get. Fair warning- it's got a stronger caffeine kick than regular "iced coffee" (because the grounds sit in the water longer when brewing) but tastes SO good. Of course you can also do any…
