No dragging stuff somewhere, a real bonus if you don't have the time. Simply call their toll free number (800-499-5121) and tell them you have a pickup. You can also leave a message after hours, leaving your name, address of pickup and your phone number. COC will call you back to give you the exact day of pick up. They do not bother you with calling you to confirm, or knocking on your door, simply leave your items outside on that day, they come take it away and leave you a tax receipt. Circle of Concern is a California non-profit organization that was established to help smaller and struggling organizations, including battered women, neglected children and the homeless. If you have no items to give, they also have a website where you can donate cash.

From Sunday to Thursday of one week, I left messages and not once did I receive a call back. I was given the wrong pick-up day and when I called to address it the manager was very defensive and even hung up on me when I asked how I could contact the owners. I will continue to donate to this organization, but the Founders should be aware of the type of service their manager is providing.

But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. So there is just a lot of activities that you can get involved with.

It was an outdoor party, and his awesome lighting system was a hit with our guests! He had everyone dancing enthusiastically, and no one wanted to leave! He was very flexible with his schedule that night, and was happy to go almost 2.5 hours OT! We received many great compliments, and I'm sure that some of our guests will be hiring him too. A+ !!

Joey the DJ is the one you want with you on your big day, hands down. Seriously, stop your search,…read morebecause this guy is IT. Everything you want: fun, prepared, goes above & beyond, sincere, professional, ENERGETIC...it's all with Joey! Joey was the DJ for my sister's wedding last year, and he truly made the night! We had few issues with the DJ at our own wedding years back, so we are no stranger to the importance of a DJ that truly meshes with the group and is additive to the overall experience. For example, our own wedding DJ pronounced our NAME WRONG when announcing us "for the very first time!" That is the kind of nonsense you will never find at a Joey the DJ wedding, because Joey truly cares about his couples and their people. As the maid of honor, Joey spent a few moments with me before the reception to talk to me, ask what kind of music I liked, and chat about the couple. When it came time for him to announce me for my MOH speech, he had thoughtful and personal details to include, which I was so impressed by, since we had only just met. It made me feel more comfortable going up to speak, and I appreciated it so much. At a wedding, your DJ isn't just spinning tunes for the dance floor. They are also the emcee who will control the flow of the day. Joey wears this hat and performs his duties gracefully & seamlessly, helping transition large groups from ceremony to reception to dance floor with ease. I have gotten to see Joey work again at another wedding, and I can confirm that he brings the same fun, class, energy, and "anything for the couple" spirit to each event that he works. I've seen Joey help carry heavy bottles of wine, assist elderly folks walking on uneven ground, and even jump into the pool with the couple at the end of the night. He takes time to talk with the parents of the bride/groom before they speak, so he can put them at ease, and so he has a personal note to touch on when introducing them. The music will be a beautiful reflection of the diversity of the crowd, because Joey does his homework and asks in advance, and because he has a deep knowledge and love of all music. Joey is truly the dream DJ for any wedding. He is an embodiment of the vibrant energy plus experienced professionalism that you want behind you on your big day.

Child Creativity Lab takes donated every day items (Lego pieces, empty prescription containers, bottle caps, buttons, wine corks, new popsicle sticks as well as excess items from various companies (excess fabric, plastic bottles, paint, pins, tacks, glue, zippers, etc.) and they put them together in a package so that kids can assemble them them and create a figure like a robot or animal out of all the parts. Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take. You can also arrange to do a service event here with your organization, they have people come in every week to help out. We need more places like this in all communities!
